C12 Jiang Loong Received a Lot of Treasure Chests

Jiang Loong gathered all the zombies back into his Synthetic Space, taking the opportunity to tally the undead in his possession.

For the male zombies, he had a diverse collection: a Level 11 mutated zombie, and one each of Levels 9, 7, 5, 3, 2, and 1.

The female zombies were another story; Jiang Loong's stock was slightly diminished. Apart from Tongtong and Ke'er, he had only one zombie for each level from 7 down to 1.

It seemed clear that if Jiang Loong could secure another Level 1 female zombie, he'd be able to combine the seven he had into a single Level 8 female zombie.

As he continued his inspection, Jiang Loong was pleasantly surprised.

He had completely forgotten about the two upgraded treasure chests waiting to be opened!

He promptly retrieved one and cracked it open. The system chimed in: "You have gained 10 gene points and 3 extraordinary talent points."

Without a moment's hesitation, Jiang Loong infused his body with the newly acquired gene points and extraordinary talent points. He then proceeded to the next chest.

"You have gained 15 gene points and 5 extraordinary talent points."

After integrating these new attributes, Jiang Loong sensed a subtle yet distinct change.

"My extraordinary talent has leveled up!" he realized.

"You have received a Daily Treasure Chest. Please open your space to claim it!" the system prompted once more.

"A Treasure Chest?" Jiang Loong chuckled to himself.

"But what about the treasure chests from all those zombies I synthesized earlier?" he wondered, a hint of confusion in his thoughts.

Nonetheless, he accessed his Synthetic Space.

Within, a treasure chest hovered above each cell housing a zombie. The chests varied in color, with numbers prominently displayed in the upper right corners.

The first chest belonged to Tongtong; the number 11 gleamed in green above her cell.

Ke'er's chest was next, also marked with an 11 and in the same verdant hue.

The mutated male zombie's chest bore the number 11 as well, but its color had shifted to a steely gray.

Left with no other choice, Jiang Loong decided it was time to consult the novice guide for assistance.

He rifled through the novice guide for quite some time before he finally located the relevant information. Why were these treasure chests different colors?

Jiang Loong had an epiphany after perusing the guide.

Take, for instance, a Level 8 zombie stored in Synthetic Space for over ten hours, yet not long enough for a treasure chest to manifest. When Jiang Loong synthesized it onto another zombie, the new creation retained the original Level 8 zombie's storage time, which was then added to the treasure chest.

In other words, within the same level, treasure chests are also ranked from lowest to highest, in shades of gray, white, green, blue, red, and gold.

Grasping this concept, Jiang Loong immediately opted to unlock the treasure chest in Tongtong's compartment.

"You've opened a Level 11 Treasure Chest. Congratulations, you've gained an increase of 11 points in All Attributes Value, gene points, and extraordinary talent points. You've acquired a zombie weapon: the Sleeve Sword. Additionally, you've obtained a box of food."

The treasure chest was quite generous to Jiang Loong.

However, Jiang Loong was unsure about which specific attributes were encompassed by the All Attributes Value.

Once Jiang Loong claimed his rewards, he could distinctly sense that he had grown slightly stronger.

Swinging his fist, he noticed an apparent boost in his strength and power.

He also tested his jumping on the spot and felt an enhancement in his agility.

Even his perception seemed to have sharpened a bit, suggesting an increase in his mental energy value.

Beyond these, the treasure chest had also bestowed upon him a weapon.

But why was it labeled a zombie weapon?

Was it possible that only zombies could wield it, and not humans?

Jiang Loong examined the weapon in his hands closely. It was a short sword.

Roughly the size of an adult man's hand and just over a dozen centimeters in length, the blade's tip glinted with a chilling sharpness.

Jiang Loong passed the short sword to Tongtong, saying, "Tongtong, this sword is yours to keep!"

Tongtong looked bewildered, seemingly puzzled by Jiang Loong's gesture.

It took a moment, but eventually, Tongtong extended her hand. Without any further action, the compact Sleeve Sword vanished from sight.

Where had the Sleeve Sword disappeared to?

"Tongtong, where's the sword?" Jiang Loong inquired with a hint of curiosity.

It was only then that Tongtong stretched out her hand, revealing the Sleeve Sword materializing in her grasp.

"You're incredible!" Jiang Loong exclaimed, impressed by Tongtong's prowess.

Tongtong paid him no mind.

With a shrug, Jiang Loong knew he needed to prioritize leveling up Tongtong.

Moving on, he opened Ke'er's green treasure chest.

"Congratulations on opening the Level 11 Treasure Chest. You've been awarded 10 Mental Force Value. You've also acquired a cultivation technique (Meditation): the Mind-calming Spell, and a box of food."

After claiming the rewards, Jiang Loong sensed a newfound clarity in his thoughts, likely thanks to the ten Mental Force Value.

But what was this cultivation technique about?

The system had specifically indicated it was related to meditation.

Jiang Loong flipped through the book without discerning much and decided to toss it into his Synthetic Space, along with the slender stick and sword Ke'er had been clutching.

He then proceeded to unlock the Level 11 mutated male zombie's treasure chest.

"Congratulations on opening the Level 11 Treasure Chest. You've earned 20 Strength Value and 5 Skin Resistance Value, along with another box of food."

Jiang Loong collected these rewards and immediately felt his skin firm up. The sensation faded quickly, yet he could tell something was different from before.

He continued to open more treasure chests in succession.

The rewards netted him 15 Strength Value, 12 Speed Value, 18 Mental Force Value, and 3 extraordinary talent points, plus several boxes of food and a pair of knives.

The later chests were lower-level, so naturally, the items weren't as high-quality or rare as before.

Still, these chests would appear daily, and the thought brought a smile to Jiang Loong's face.

He integrated the attributes into his body. Although they were just a few attribute points, his body was already transforming. Jiang Loong was confident that if he could keep gaining attribute points daily, he would be able to stand toe-to-toe with the mutated zombies.

"If I'm going to level this area, I need to find some suitable tools fast. This is a major undertaking!"

All of a sudden, a voice drifted in from outside.

Jiang Loong swiftly gathered all the zombies back into his Synthetic Space, then silently leaped out through the window.

"What was that? Something came out from inside?"

"Could it be a human? He doesn't seem to be a zombie!"

Once the people outside confirmed their suspicions, they all relaxed.

Jiang Loong gave them a glance but remained silent, continuing on his way outward.
