C12 Emotions

Dexter could not believe it! It was finally happening, the woman of his dreams, the very pretty girl that had most likely rescued him from that accident. He was finally going to meet her. All he had to do was reply with a date. He could not wait, he wanted to see her right now. He hits reply and then answers:

'Sounds great. How about we have a date tonight?'

Leila looks at the email and once again, she had that sinking feeling in her stomach.

"I can't do this, Tomi!" she says with must desperation.

"Leila, enough. Just go out with him."

"No, I can't do it. Besides, I don't have anything to wear."

"Then we'll buy something."

"But I have to go home before mom comes back."

"You said she'll be out all day. Come on, Leila. You're making excuses. You said you wanted to be treated like a woman than a child right? Why are you acting like this?"

Leila was not certain about this. She was so afraid of the situation. She didn't know this man, she didn't know any grown adult actually other than her parents and teachers. She didn't even live with her father even. Now she was supposed to go out with a man nearing his 30s while she is still in high school? She thought this was way too much for her to handle. She felt like she was getting over her head with this decision. Yes, she wanted to be treated like an adult, but this was going too far.

"No, Tomi. I'm going to reject. I'm not ready for this. Maybe my mom is right, I'm not ready to grow up yet. I'm going to-" she then suddenly realizes that she was not holding her phone. Tomi had taken it and she was fiddling around with it. Leila takes her phone back and angrily shouts, "what are you doing? Give me that back."

She then notices Tomi with a large smile on her face. She looks at the phone and sees that she replied to the email:

'Sure thing. What time will you pick me up?'

And the email replied:

'How about at 8, tonight?'

And then Tomi replied:

'Yes, of course. I would love to.'

"TOMI!" shouts Leila, "what have you done?"

"I did what you couldn't do, make a decision. Congratulations, 'Amber', you're going out on a date with a CEO."

"Are you crazy! I changed my mind."

"Well, it's too late for that. I set up the date already. He's picking you up tonight."

"Tomi, I can't believe you did this to me! You knew I wasn't sure about this."

"Well, too late. You're going out with him now."

"No, I'm not. I'm going to tell him the truth."

Suddenly, she gets a reply notification. Leila looks at her phone and it reads:

'I forgot to mention something. I have a broken leg. I was in an accident some time ago. I hope this isn't a bother but I won't be able to drive you around, but we'll have to go out on an Uber. I hope that isn't a bother.'

Suddenly something hits Leila. Some strange emotion she didn't felt before. She remembers him vividly. He was all scratched up, dirty, coughing from the smoke, and yes, his leg was severely injured. She remembers that very sad state he was in. She then remembers that he got a glimpse at her before he went lost conscience. Something inside of her started feeling warm, she could not identify it.

After calming down, she then replies:

'That is fine. Where should I meet you?'
