C2 The car crash

One day, Dexter was riding in the back of an Uber ride-share. He was answering some phone calls as his driver kept paying attention to the road, but the driver was easily distracted as he kept trying to listen to the conversation. This is why the driver kept getting so many low scores on the app. He would get distracted and would sometimes get lost on his way. Other times he would sometimes narrowly avoid hitting another car. He had to improve himself or he would lose his ride-share job, but listening to his guest was too tempting as he was eager to hear the conversation between Dexter and whoever was on the phone. That was a fatal mistake because, as he was being distracted by the phone call, a large truck hits the car, flipping it into the air, and lands upside-down.

The driver was immediately killed but Dexter was barely conscience. He felt a great burning pain in his leg as he had trouble moving it. But there was no time to inquire as he notices fire around him. He managed to open the door car as smoke started to engulf the car. Turns out the car was still running and something happened to the exhaust to start spewing smoke inside. He struggled to crawl out of the car but the pain in his leg was too much that he could not go further.

He couldn't breathe, he was in so much pain. He truly thought he was going to die. He closed his eyes, ready to accept his faith. Suddenly, someone grabs him from the shoulders. He looks up to see a pretty face. Things were still blurry but he saw that he was being dragged out of the car and out of the smoke by a pretty girl.

In the clear air, while he was still conscience, he got a good look at the pretty face. It was a young girl, with very fair skin, chestnut brown hair, and large bright eyes. It was such a pretty face and it was the last thing he saw before he lost consciences.

He didn't know when he woke up but the fact that he did was a relief. His eyesight was blurry but it started adjusting itself to the surroundings; he was in a hospital room.

"Are you okay?" a voice was heard. He looks to his left and sees a woman, "Dexter, are you okay?"

"Sheona," he utters while still trying to figure out what is going on.

"Thank goodness you are alright. You were in a terrible accident. I thought you were dead."

"Sheona," he said, now with more confidence as he started regaining his senses, "all I remember was that I was in a car and it flipped. Then I was struggling to escape a burning car."

"Yeah, it's all over the news. The car exploded!"

"Exploded?"

"Thank goodness someone pulled you out before that."

He tried to think of the moment when it happened, and it wasn't too difficult as it was imprinted on his memory: the pretty face of the young-looking girl was so vivid. She was so beautiful that he could not believe that she could be real. But she had to be a dream, right? He could not figure out what that was about, this girl in his head, "who rescued me?" he asks.

"Nobody knows. When they found you, the car had exploded and you were a distance away on your back. Someone had to drag you out of the wreckage, but nobody was found on the site."

"Nobody?" he asked as he breathed heavily.

"I see you are starting to get uncomfortable. I'll let you rest. Don't worry, I'll take care of the press and public. You just sit there and recover, okay?" and with that, Sheona left him to rest.

Dexter just lays on his bed, trying to think of who that girl was.
