C20 Confession

He was at a loss for words. He was now staring straight at her cobalt blue eyes. He did saw them before in the photo of her profile, and they were beautiful for sure, but now that he was looking at them this close, he was stunned. But more so than that, the woman who called herself Amber was so gorgeous. She looked so young, so pretty, his passions were burning up inside of him. That face that was burned in his mind, the one he got when he was being rescued and only got a glimpse, the one that would not let him go no matter how hard he tried, this was the one. This was the face that haunted him so much and beckoned him to find her. The pretty young girl that he could not let go of. He swore that if there was a point where he would fall in love, it might have been now.

Leila, on the other hand, was distraught. She realized that the sunglasses were the only thing keeping him from discovering her true age. He thinks she's 21, but she's really 16. She felt like she could get away with this with them on, but now they've come off and he was looking straight at her! Panic was stirring insider her head. What was he going to do? Was he going to yell at her for lying? Was he going to be so disgusted, he would leave? Would he contact her school and have her mother find out?

She quickly gets up as she picks up her glasses and turns around with shame. She was shaking so much. She didn't know what would happen next. She just wanted to run away, end this whole night, and forget it ever happened. Maybe it was for the best she did so.

"Agh," she heard Dexter grunt. She looks at him and notices that he was on the ground on his knee. Turns out he didn't think about his injured leg and just bent down, only to have his leg get in his way. Another woman was trying to help him when he responded, "no, it's okay. I can get up," but it wasn't necessarily true. He was struggling to use his crutches and get himself up. Other people wanted to help him but he refused them all. Leila, despite her being scared and embarrassed, decides to help him.

She wraps her arms around his body and lifts him up. He looks at her, with another look of awe and amazement. He was so close to her, again looking at those shining eyes. Leila, on the other hand, was so scared that she didn't know what he would say next.

"I guess if it's you," said Dexter, "then it is okay if you help me."

This was surprising to Leila. She was expecting him to yell at her, or push her away, not just because he was stubborn with having people help him, but because he discovered her secret.

"Is it really okay?" she said, "are you sure you're not going to yell at me?"

"Yell at you?" he asks as he straightens himself with his crutches, "I know I don't like people helping me, but it's okay if you help me."

"No, not that. I lied to you. This whole thing is a big lie. I'm so sorry."

"Lie to me?" he said as he looked at her hand with the sunglasses, "you mean to tell me that you were hiding something behind those glasses?"

"Kind of..." she said in a guilty manner, "I didn't want you to find out my identity. The thing is... I'm sorry but..."

"Identity?" he asked as he thought about it for a moment. He looked at her hand holding her sunglasses with nervousness. He looked at her youthful-looking face, that sad expression on her beautiful eyes.

"Wait a minute," he said as he thinks about the situation, "now that I get a good look at you... wait... can it be... that you are actually...." Holding one of his crutches on his arms, he puts his hand on his mouth in shock.
