C6 Leila's Mother

Dexter leans back on his chair, completely shocked at what he was just told. He knew Sheona was very loyal and hard-working, but that she had feelings for him, that was the last thing he expected.

Her thoughts scramble in her head to figure out what to say next. She could not believe she just said that. It just slipped without any thought put into it. She laughs a bit and then says, "oh, look at that. I kind of ruined the joke I was about to make. Haha. Oh, how funny it was going to be when I was going to confess my feelings for you. Haha."

"So you do like me?"

The laughing stopped as she stood still like a deer that was spotted by a hunter; she felt like dying at that moment, "yes, I do. I've had feelings for you for a while now. I'm sorry."

Dexter sighs and says, "it's okay to have these feelings. No one can control who you fall in love with. But I'm afraid I don't feel the same way about you. I'm sorry, Sheona."

The worst thing that could happen to her had come true. She was rejected by the man she loved, and she worked for him too. What a horrible situation she got herself into. What was she going to do? She could only shake her head in disbelief, trying to hold back the tears, but it was so difficult that she had to run out of the room in shame.

Meanwhile, Leila just as her mother ordered, returns home right after school. She just wanted to hang out with her friends, but since her parents were paying for her college, she had no choice but to do as they say. It made her mad.

Expecting to see her mom, it was instead her dad who welcomed her.

"Leila, how are you?" he asked her.

"Oh, dad," she replies as she gives him a big hug, "oh thank goodness you are here. I was afraid mom was going to be here."

"Was she being super hard on you, dear?"

"Of course. She's so demanding of me. Oh, Dad, why can't I live with you instead?"

"Honey, I wish you can live with me, but I can only visit you like this. It's a shame. I'm so sorry, honey."

At that time, the door opens and in comes her mom, "you're still here?" she asks.

"I just wanted to see my daughter."

"Well you saw her, now go. I don't want to see you anymore."

He patted his daughter, got his things, and left without saying anything to Leila's mother.

When he shut the door, Leila told her mother, "why are you so mean to him?"

"Don't you defend that man. I put all my trust in him and he betrayed me with another woman. He is a very bad person and I don't want you to be influenced by him too."

"We should forgive him. He's trying to make things better."

"I will never forgive that disgusting man, and neither should you."

"I've forgiven him already."

"Don't you dare forgive that man. In fact, I never want him here again and I don't want you to talk to him. I don't care if he's your father, I never want you to visit him ever again."

"No, mom. That's not fair! I still love him."

"How can anyone love that disgusting man after having another woman?"

"He said that she tempted him and he fell for her tricks."

"That's just an excuse. All men are perverts and he simply couldn't control himself."

"Mom! I won't-" she was interrupted by a great slap from her mother.

"Don't you yell at me, young lady. You have no right to talk to your mother like that. Now go to your room until dinner time and don't come out."

Leila, not being able to continue the argument, runs to her room crying.
