C5 Asking for Rain When Entering the Mountains
In just a few days, the riverbed at the village entrance cracked open. Jiang Wanbai already had a guess in his heart, and this was also the reason why she agreed to help ask for rain.
If that thing was really what she thought it would be, it would be beneficial to her. Thinking about it, Jiang Wanbai's heart ached. All the magical equipment she had in her previous life were gone! He had to use his own blood to even draw the simplest talisman!
Thinking of this, Jiang Wanbai's expression turned cold. She ignored everyone and walked towards the back of the mountain, which the Village Head had mentioned.
There was a small hill at the back of the mountain. Jiang Wanbai was feeling a lot better after having confirmed his guess even before he turned around to look at the village landscape.
"You guys just wait here. I'm going into the mountains to beg for rain. If someone else was here, it wouldn't work." Jiang Wanbai turned around and said to the Village Head. She waited until the Village Head agreed not to follow her into the mountains before walking up. After walking a few steps, she suddenly stopped.
"Bring your young master to a place where he can hide from the rain, lest it rains too late to run away." Jiang Wanbai walked in front of Chi Qingxing and gave him a glance. Then, he turned his head to the little errand boy beside him and warned him.
She thought, since Chi Qingxing came all the way to save her, then she will treat him better.
Chi Qingxing twitched his lips and whispered, "Let Qing Zhu go with you."
Even though Chi Qingxing was sure that Jiang Wanbai was only finding an excuse to drag the Village Head and the others into the mountains, he was still worried. After all, they were in the mountains and Jiang Wanbai was just a little girl who did not reach his shoulders.
The village chief kept his eyes on Jiang Wanbai. Although he couldn't hear what Chi Qingxing had said to her, he still shouted, "Little girl, go quickly! Come back as soon as possible!"
Jiang Wanbai clicked his tongue and said to Chi Qingxing, "I will go alone."
After pausing for a moment, she continued, "I'm fine, don't worry."
As soon as Jiang Wanbai left, a villager behind him asked, "Village Head, are we really not going to follow them? What if she runs away? "
"So what? There's no food in the mountains, so running is still death." The Village Head snorted with his hands behind his back, not caring about Chi Qingxing at all. Although he was very afraid of Jiang Wanbai's methods, he still felt that she was the fool from before. Otherwise, why didn't he come and settle the score with them when he woke up? He even asked for rain for them.
One had to know that they had bullied this fool quite a few times after he had been sent over.
The Village Head thought proudly in his heart.
Chi Qingxing's eyes were filled with coldness. The errand boy also stared at the Village Head with a reddened face, but he knew that he shouldn't cause any trouble now. He could only reach out to support Chi Qingxing and said, "Young Master, let's go wait over there."
Chi Qingxing nodded. Just as the two were about to turn around and leave, a hesitant voice came from the crowd, "Village Chief, the deity couldn't have gone to find that Hanba, right?"
"Hanba? What Hanba? " These two words were like a pebble dropped into the water, immediately attracting an excited reaction from the people beside him.
Soon, an old man was summoned by the crowd.
When the old man saw that the village chief did not try to stop him, he said, "There was a drought here in the early days, just like this one. However, before we went to ask the Goddess for rain, a Taoist who was passing by said that there was a Hanba in our mountain. Later on, the Taoist entered the mountain and said that the Hanba was sealed …"
Jiang Wanbai didn't know that the villagers had already guessed his goal, but she had already entered the mountain.
