C13 Wrong Place to Be

“Let’s bring that idea to life some other day, shall we? There’s something else I have to do for now.”

He smirked again, his eyes twinkling mischievously. But in the next second, a dark aura descended, and the air around him turned oppressive.

“Wait for me here obediently.” And with that, he got out of the car, his body language full of intent.

Yanxi could only stare after him, still unsure of what had just happened. He had brought his gun with him, hadn’t he?

The thing he had said he had to take care of… Was he really going to kill a person?

Bang!

No sooner had she thought this than a gunshot was ringing throughout the area, breaking the eerie silence they had initially arrived to.

Her eyes wide with fear, Yanxi shrunk into the backseat, resisting the urge to look out the window.

In the end, curiosity won, and she started to reach for the button that locked and opened the car windows.

Before she could press it, however, the door was yanked open, and then Tang Zhengxun was there again, looking down at her with a cruel expression.

“What…” she squeaked, her face pale with fear.

He blinked once, and the murderous glint in his eyes immediately disappeared. In its place was his usual smug look.

He let himself back into the car, nonplussed as he unbuttoned his suit jacket. “Drive back to Rhine City,” he ordered.

Only then did Yanxi realize that the chauffeur had also returned to the driver seat. “Understood, Young Master Tang.”

She didn’t utter a single word the entire way back. Nor did the color return to her face.

Rhine City

The Maybach stopped in the driveway of an exclusive luxury villa.

The building’s design was mostly adapted from the classical style of the West, with pillars reaching all the way to the roof’s ceiling.

To put it simply, it was an excessively majestic place.

They entered the foyer, and the first thing that caught Yanxi’s eyes was the ornate fireplace in one corner of the main hall.

A cozy fire was burning, and beside it was a massive chair where… a child was cuddled up. Wait, a child?

What’s more… Yanxi couldn’t see any limbs attached to the boy’s torso. Was he handicapped?

The faint glow of the flames wasn’t enough to help her discern the child’s face, but from what little she could see, he seemed to have delicate features.

The boy took notice of her then, but he only cast an indifferent glance at her and said nothing.

For some reason, though, his bland reaction sent a chill down her spine.

She turned away to find that Tang Zhengxun had long disappeared from her side.

She was about to demand to be taken home when an elderly man, whom she later learned was called Uncle Lee, emerged from the corridor.

“Miss Qin, this way please,” he said with a respectful bow.

“Okay, thank you.”

She followed him and when they had disappeared, the boy turned to the huge bodyguard standing beside him.

“That woman,” he began in a low voice. “Is she the personal servant that brother appointed?”

“I think so, yes.”

The boy grinned and shook his head, his expression meaningful. “So she’s not brother’s meal then.”

His words caught the man off-guard, and he gaped at the child for a split second before recovering himself.

Yanxi had been brought to a large bedroom suite, where she was currently pacing a trail on the carpet.

She was confused, and uneasy, and she had no idea what to expect next.

She kept thinking about the gunshot and the scary look in Tang Zhengxun’s face.

She knew that she couldn’t stay in this place a moment longer.

Qin Yanxi was just an average citizen after all, she had no business interacting with the likes of such a dangerous man.

Having formed her resolve, she walked out of the room and headed over to the elevator banks. Yes, the villa had its own elevators.

She had barely taken a few steps when two men in black stepped forward and blocked her way.

“Apologies, Miss Qin. You aren’t allowed to roam around without Young Master Tang’s permission.”

“What?” she asked, indignant. “Why?”

"This is the Young Master Tang’s orders."

The men spoke like it was a matter of fact, prickling her temper even further.

"Fine then! Far be it from me to make your lives difficult. Please take me to your master instead, and I’ll speak with him myself."

The men bowed and one of them led her to a large door at the other side of the corridor.

“The Young Master is inside,” was all he said before leaving her.

At first she knocked, but no one came to the door. No one even answered from the room.

She hesitated and weighed her options for a couple of beats before she finally pushed the door open and stepped inside.

It turned out to be another bedroom, even more extravagant than the one she had been put in earlier. There was nobody inside.

She looked around and was drawn toward another massive door to the side of the room. Without thinking much, she walked over and let herself in once again.

She was not prepared for the sight that greeted her.

This second door actually led to a bathroom, which looked to be twice as big as her own bedroom. The bathtub itself seemed to qualify as a children’s pool.

And in the middle of the water stood a man.

The moment she had barged inside, he had grabbed a towel and covered his private parts.

His perfectly muscled arms, chest, and abdomen, on the other hand, were exposed and open to gawkers.

And Yanxi found herself gawking.

How could she not, when he painted the perfect picture of an Adonis, with water droplets beading at the tips of his hair and sliding down his toned, bronze skin?

Her eyes drifted over his body, lower and lower, until it reached the towel he was holding against his crotch. At this point, the pitiful piece of cloth was already soaked.

At the back of her mind, Yanxi reminded herself that she was a married woman. But then… but then this was a feast right here, right before her very eyes, and she couldn’t help but partake in it.

“Have you seen enough?” Tang Zhengxun's deep, smooth voice broke into her daze.

All at once, her senses came back like a bolt of lightning. She flushed and turned around. “I’m sorry!”

She heard the splashing of water, followed by wet footsteps as he climbed out of the bath. He stopped just a few inches away from her back.

“Look at me,” he commanded.
