without thinking, I let out a scream.

"hey, hey, calm down," he said trying to get me to shut up but I wasn't listening. for all I knew, this guy could be a serial killer or a rapist.

without thinking, I started throwing things I could get my hands on, the shampoo, the body wash, heck! even the bar soap he began dodging skillfully at my attempt to kill him before he did me. when I ran out of things I decided to back up very carefully.

"you know if I wanted to hurt you, I would have done that by now and how could you not hear me I mean my footsteps were not really silent" he said looking at me while raising a brow at me.

he made a point though goddess I could be so foolish at times I guess this was the price to pay for not being able to shift completely. because the situation I was in, I could not have heightened senses like the rest of the wolves. it sucked big time.

"what are you doing here" I asked starting to relax when I realized that he was not a threat.

"I came to pee and I guess I was misdirected. Anyway, not that I am complaining, but I think you would want to cover up. you would not want another person to come in and see this now would you?" he said as he eyes me up and down and his eyes flickering a bit as he talked about someone coming in to see me.

"ahh" was all I said as I grabbed the nearest towel and wrapped it around my body.

"the toilet" I said as I left the bathroom and walked out to the room where I laid trying to fan my hot cheeks and not seem stupid.

after a while, I heard a flush sound and then he came out. looking unbothered by what just happened in the bathroom.

"I am Caspian marshal by the way, the head warrior/gamma of the southern water packs" he said making my eyes bulge out of its sockets. the southern water packs was known to be the strongest, biggest and wealthiest pack ever.

"really?" I said trying to hide my amusement. looking at him closely, I noticed that he was a little too young. "how old are you" I said before I could even think about what I said or even filter it.

"I am sorry, I am so stupid at times. I did not even think of what I was saying" I rambled causing him to laugh. "it's okay, I cannot pick offense to that. if you must know I am twenty years old" he said smiling at me.

that's when it hit. He was the ruthless wolf!, rumour he had killed more than half of a pack by himself when he was newly made gamma in a war. looking at him though, he looked nothing more than a child to me.

"I think I know who you are now" I said giving him a smile although forced.

"ahh, well I think I have gone long enough, I should better get back to the party" he said and he stood up.

"I never got to tell you my name" I said trying bro make him stay with me a little longer for some reason, I felt comfortable with him around.

"I would not be here of I did not know your name, Ariel" he said in a way that made cold shivers run down my spine.

"see you soon" he said as he closed the door behind me while giving me a smirk. something told me that this was truly not the last time I was going to be seeing him. .

After a few minutes, I decided to dress back up this was a stupid decision. I can not believe I let myself do this.

as I zipped up my dress, Shannon walked in.

"have you tried them on?" she said looking at me with eyes that said 'if you have not chosen, I would end you'

"yes I have and they are wonderful" I said lying but not really. I mean I did try one pair on so that had to count right?.

"really? which one did you like best" she asked almost bouncing around like a small child high on sugar.

"I really don't know" I said but quickly covered up by saying "I mean they were just to lovely to choose from one." something told me that I made the wrong decision saying that.

"that's why I'm here mama" she said and dragged me towards the box that laid on the bed. "you know what Shannon?" I said stopping both of us in our tracks.

"I've been gone out long enough. I don't want them to start looking for me or anything" I said trying to look for a way to escape this.

"oh my goodness!! what was I thinking!!, you are Soo right. you know what? go I'll pack things up for you." she said as she pushed me out the door not even giving me a chance to speak.

I know I am going to regret this later.

I came back outside to meet James asking someone where I was.

"I am right here baby" I said from behind him. "baby where have you been. I have been looking everywhere for you." James was human. so it was obvious that he could not sniff me out or something.

"shall we have our dance now?" he said giving me a dazzling smile as he stretched his hands.

"of course my prince" I replied as I put my hands in his.

"you know, your friend is weird" he said as we started slow dancing.

"Shannon?, why do you say so?" I said in his ears. the sound was not as loud as before so I was not going to risk all these nosey wolves listening to my conversation.

"she kept talking about horny wolf sex" he said making me freeze but continue dancing so that he does not notice.

"what?" I said and laughed. "why would she say that" I laughed again. James did not know about the existence of wolves and u intended to keep it that way. it was not going to matter if I did or not anyway because we were going to live amongst the humans. plus I was a wolf who could not shift into her so I doubt he was going to find out anytime in the future.

"I don't know" he said chuckling a bit.

"well, I can assure you that it is nothing to worry about. Shannon can be really crazy at times and does not mean half the words she say." I said smiling into his eyes.

"I know babe" he said and pecked my lips. "by the way. she mentioned that you guys were beat friends. how come you never mentioned her nor did I see her?" he said looking at me.

"well you know me, I am quite forgetful" I said rolling my eyes for effect. "that you are" he said rubbing my nose with his causing me to smile "plus she lives in Europe so we hardly see each other."

"oh, that makes sense" he said accepting my answer which caused me to let out a breath. mentally.

"how did you two meet anyway?" he asked again. although I knew he was just curious about my friend I was becoming irritated. I mean I was not lying to him or anything I mean all I told him was true they were just not he complete truths either.

"we met at a school. more like high school" I said

"woah! I did not know you schooled in Europe!"

"there is a lot you do not know about me babe" just as he was about the ask another question? the dj called out and said we were to dance with our parents. I was to dance with his dad and he was to dance with my mom.

never had I been Soo grateful for such an interruption before.

"bye love" I said and walked towards his father faster than you could call my name.
