C25 Three Hundred Million Yuan It Is Still Affordable in the Heavens!(1)

After Zeng Ziyuv had his fill of iced drinks at the Ice Drinks Shop, Su Hao declined his invitation to join him for lunch. Carrying a cup of iced lemon tea, Su Hao hailed a cab and headed straight back to the Butterfly Loving Flower Company.

By the time he arrived, it was eleven in the morning, and the company's lobby was bustling with activity. Just as Su Hao stepped inside, a voice tinged with resignation echoed through the crowd.

"Please, everyone, stay calm. The CEO will surely find a solution to the salary issue. Those of you who've been with us for two years know the kind of person our CEO is. I urge you to trust in her!"

At the forefront of the throng stood a woman clad in a sleek dark grey suit. Her eyes, dark as onyx, shone with resolve, and her hair was swept up into a tidy bun.

Beneath her snug, short skirt, her legs, long and symmetrical, were sheathed in flesh-toned sheer stockings, accentuating a pair of sharp black stilettos.

This was none other than Bai Wenling's assistant, Gu Peiling.

Reflecting on Gu Peiling, Su Hao couldn't help but acknowledge her exceptional qualities. A double master's degree holder, fluent in eight languages, well-versed in international business etiquette, she possessed a remarkable demeanor and an uncommon rapport with her colleagues, earning their widespread respect.

In his previous life, Gu Peiling had been the epitome of dedication, taking on the CEO's burdens as her own, ensuring that Bai Wenling had to intervene as little as possible. Her indispensable role had granted her access to many of Butterfly Loving Flower Company's confidential matters.

The company's downfall had been precipitated by Gu Peiling's betrayal, as she leaked vital secrets to rival firms.

Su Hao couldn't fathom what had driven Gu Peiling, once as close as a sister to Bai Wenling, to turn against Butterfly Loving Flower Company. But in this life, he was resolute in preventing anyone from causing harm to Bai Wenling or the company.

Making his way through the crowd, Gu Peiling's gaze landed on Su Hao, her eyes briefly betraying a flicker of animosity and disdain.

After ensuring the security team had pacified the staff's unrest, she strode towards him and, within moments, had briskly ushered Su Hao towards a secluded elevator entrance.

"The company's funds have been stolen, and the losses are devastating. As one long-standing employee after another hands in their resignation, the CEO is at her wit's end, buckling under the pressure. And here you are, Su Hao, sipping milk tea instead of offering her any comfort. Do you even have a shred of humanity left?"

Gu Peiling's words seethed with rage, mirroring the dark scowl etched across her face.

Truth be told, her disdain for Su Hao was far from slight.

He epitomized the classic trust-fund kid—wasting his days in leisure and luxury, a bona fide playboy through and through.

Despite being aware that Su Hao was Bai Wenling's betrothed, hailing from a distinguished lineage, she saw that as nothing more than a veneer. The Su Hao of today was nothing but a castoff, disowned by his own family.

Since his arrival at Butterfly Loving Flower Company, Su Hao had shirked any semblance of duty. His only talent seemed to be causing trouble, contributing nothing of value.

For Bai Wenling to be saddled with such a deadbeat was nothing short of tragic.

Gu Peiling's furious outburst left Su Hao unfazed. He remained composed, responding coolly, "I've already discussed the situation with her. There's no need for concern. I'll handle the crisis facing the company."

"You? Handle it?" Gu Peiling paused, giving Su Hao a once-over, her gaze dripping with scorn. "Mind your jokes, Su Hao. Know your place. The company's been robbed of 200 million USD, and we need at least 300 million to keep things running. Do you seriously think you have the means to secure that kind of money?"

"If you have even an ounce of conscience left, you'd assist the security team in steadying the employees' nerves. Our company is in the throes of an unparalleled crisis. Partners are severing ties, and rivals are relentlessly targeting us. We don't have the luxury of time for your empty boasts or your delusions of grandeur. Got it?"

Su Hao offered no rebuttal.

In his past life, he'd made countless mistakes that tarnished his reputation, Gu Peiling's opinion of him included.

Now, even with a new lease on life and a fresh start, he had no desire to argue with her.

Because he lacked the standing to challenge someone who had not only been with the company for several years but had also dedicated their youth to it, scrimping and saving for its sake.

"Su Hao, I want you to understand that the Butterfly Loving Flower Company is the CEO's life's work, the sole support that has sustained her all these years. Now, as it teeters on the brink, it's up to all of us to steady it, not to let go and watch it fall," Gu Peiling said, her eyes brimming with emotion as she locked gazes with Su Hao.

"You might choose to live a carefree life, to revel in life's pleasures, but you cannot turn a blind eye when the company is facing its darkest hour. I refuse to let you act like the CEO's relatives who, lacking any show of sympathy, not only agitate her at this critical juncture but also pressure her to sell the company."

"When did Wenling's relatives arrive?" Su Hao asked, his eyes narrowing, a glint of frost in his gaze upon hearing her words.

Bai Wenling's relatives were nothing but trouble. In his past life, after Bai Wenling's suicide, they had not received any inheritance and had shamelessly tarnished her reputation online, utterly disregarding any moral principles.

If the company's bankruptcy had only led Bai Wenling to despair, the relatives' cold-heartedness was the final blow that pushed her over the edge.

"They arrived ten minutes ago and are currently in the CEO's office," Gu Peiling noted, sensing a shift in Su Hao's demeanor. "Su Hao, I'm aware that you don't get along well with the CEO's relatives, but..."

"See to the staff. I'm heading to the CEO's office," Su Hao interjected, his expression darkening. He strode over to the CEO's private elevator, entered the code, and stepped inside.

In his previous life, he had failed to rescue Bai Wenling from her relatives' grasp, helplessly watching her, bereft of direction, depart from this world on a sunlit morning.

This time around, no matter the length or sharpness of those claws, he was determined to shatter them, to erase them completely.

"Su Hao, don't be reckless—"

"Clang!"

Gu Peiling's words were cut short as the elevator doors snapped shut, Su Hao's silhouette vanishing with the ascending car.

She remained rooted to the spot, lost in thought for what seemed like ages. It dawned on her that Su Hao was somehow different today.

There was something new in the depths of his eyes—a hint of maturity, and a glimmer of long-awaited determination.

Meanwhile, Su Hao, riding in the private elevator, swiftly reached the entrance to the CEO's office.
