C4 Chapter 4

After a moment of surprise, Su Yue regained her composure.

Right now, her biggest threat was Ronan. He definitely had not returned with good intentions in his mind.

She decided to save herself. She absolutely could not let Ronan interfere with her bright future.

The company's most gossipy worker, Miss Lin, was always in the pantry. Su Yue followed her and complimented her from head to toe, praising her hair and shoes. Miss Lin beamed with joy. Su Yue took advantage of that and started persuading her, insisting that she go downstairs to the spa at noon.

Miss Lin agreed readily and left happily with her coffee.

Su Yue smiled as she looked at Miss Lin's back. Just as she was about to walk out, she saw Xiao Gan leaning against the wall on the other side of the corridor, his hands in his pant pockets. He looked at her with a smile, that did not really look like a smile.

"Is something the matter?" Su Yue had a business-like look on her face.

Xiao Gan shook his head. "I was just looking at you."

He paused, then smiled. "You were the first woman to reject me."

Su Yue replied with a mocking smile, her lips twisting, "I am already past the age of looking that way at my boss or my co-workers... and you're not even the boss."

Carrying the green tea in her hand, she turned around and walked away, swaying her hips seductively.

Xiao Gan stared at her from behind. After a while, he could not help but ask from afar, "How old are you?

"Thirty-two." Su Yue turned around. "Didn't I tell you?"

Xiao Gan nodded. "But your energy that night suggested that you are around twenty-three. Today, you are making yourself sound like you're a hundred-year-old witch."

"Don't be so curious about me. I'm afraid that you would fall for me otherwise." Su Yue winked at him and left with her tea.

After she returned to her office from the pantry, Ronan called Su Yue to his room and talked to her for a long time. Finally, he said to Su Yue, "Work hard with me. I'll guarantee you success."

One of his eyebrows was raised, and his main emphasis was on the word 'work'.

Su Yue remembered that Ronan's child was already five or six years old.

She remained silent for a while and turned around. Looking back as she walked ahead, she gave Ronan a bright smile. "Then I'll thank you in advance, Mr. Luo!"

Su Yue smiled. She had her own charms. Ronan was stunned for three seconds before he laughed out loud. "I'll look for you when I get the chance!"
