C17 Past nightmare came to life.

Bailey couldn't believe it seeing how Carlos defended her before Vivian.

Could it be because she covered up for him before his father?

Bailey wondered and also comforted herself with the fact that it was all an agreement between them. And Carlos had kept his by re-employing Noah back to the company. So she has to keep hers.

Bailey was in her office at her father's company thinking about this when her phone rang.

Initially, she hesitated about picking up the call with reason being that it was an unknown number.

Then, on second thought, she finally did after several times.

"Hello....... ".

"I can see someone is skeptical about taking my call. What is the big deal, Bailey?".

The voice at the other end sounded so strange to Bailey, and that made her heart race faster.

"Who is this?". She managed to ask.

"Let us say, your last nightmare".

Who even it was was teasing Bailey and she wasn't in the mood for that.

"May I know your name, please? It's already too difficult to take a call from an unknown caller..... "

Bailey became impatient, her heart raced wildly and many thoughts began to go through her mind.

"Don't be silly sweet girl. You should know your sweet daddy. Remember that night? Just the two of us. It was heavenly. Seriously, I never thought this day would come. A day I will get to have you all for myself. My woman, and my child... "

While the stranger spoke, Bailey's heart was already speeding at 600km per hour, her mind making a double calculation at the same time, and she began to sweat profusely even with the heavy icy air conditioner on.

"Liam?!". Bailey said almost in a whisper, and with a voice that sounded so not like her voice.

"Accurately! Your smartness is what I love so much about you. And I am glad you are finally mine now. This is a dream come true".

The man Bailey identified as Liam said, and laughed smugly. Confirming Bailey's fears.

"What do you want? Why are you contacting me? How did you get my contact?".

Bailey found herself bombarding him with a series of questions, in a shaky voice.

"Easy! Easy!! Easy!! How many questions am I supposed to answer all at the same time? Well, starting from the first question. I want my woman back. Secondly, why didn't you care to inform me that I have a baby? And thirdly, well I don't want to believe that you are the only person who doesn't know you are already in the news by allowing yourself to be fooled into a marriage with the worst man whore in New York City ".

At this point, Bailey's heart crashed.

And she knew immediately that there was trouble.

"Listen, Liam, I am. Not your woman, and I don't know what you are talking about. What happened between us five years ago was all a mistake, and I have long forgotten that. I'll also advise that you do the same because, as you already know, I am a married woman now..... ".

Bailey was still saying when Liam busted into laughter.

"Really; Bailey? A married woman? Puff! This is ridiculous. Everybody in New York knows what a freaking fucking dude you are sticking your neck out for; he doesn't deserve that".

"Well that should be my business to worry about. Just don't call me again".

"No sweetheart, not until I have met with Carla... "

"You don't have any business with my daughter as well. So leave us the Fuck Aline!".

Bailey yelled impatiently, and Liam only laughed and hung up.

Seeing the line at the other end went dead felt like a piece of her life went dead with it to Bailey. She was practically gasping for breath. It surprised her to know that the mysterious man who had been appearing at Diana Newman's door was a one-time one-night stand she had five years ago.

Why is her past suddenly beginning to threaten her?

She stood up and began pacing around the room in confusion. She didn't know what to do again, and it seemed like confusion had suddenly become her next name.

Suddenly a thought clicked; she had to call someone she could talk about this to.

Aba!

With a trembling hand, she picked up her cell phone on the desk and dialed Ava's number.

In just one ring, Ava's voice came on at the other end.

"Hey girlfriend, what's up?!".

"Ava I am finally doomed! The worst has happened and my world is finally crashing. I am going insane right now... "

Bailey was speaking at an incredible speed, with a voice that was laced with tears.

That frightened Ava and she interrupted.

"Hey hey Bailey, calm down. What is wrong, where are you?".

Ava was practically scared, she knew that whenever Bailey sounded like that, something really bad had happened.

"I am at the office..". Bailey replied with the same tone.

"Wits Builders? Holy Molly! That's a restricted area for me. The last person I'd love to bump into right now is Edward. Can you leave that place right now? I'll meet you up".

Bailey is already aware of her best friend's war with her father, and she understands.

"Just pull yourself together and come out. I'll be waiting for you right outside". Ava added.

Forgetting that Ava was not there presently, and wouldn't see her expression, Bailey nodded to her suggestion and hung up the phone.

Trembling, and with a shaky hand, Bailey managed to put her stuff together away into her bag and without glancing through the office, she left in a hurry to go meet Ava.

On her way, Bailey thought about the ugly incident that birthed the nightmare she is encountering now.

Five years ago, she made terrible mistakes. She was young, naive, and senseless then. With a then-loving Carlos by her side who was doing almost everything for her. Yet, that didn't make her stop living flamboyantly.

She had gone clubbing with the girls and had an encounter with a total stranger. Liam.

Although Liam professed to love, and loyalty, and was acting all lovey-dovey, he wasn't man enough to shoulder the responsibility.

When Bailey told him she was pregnant, Liam disappeared and never showed any sign of responsibility.

And now, he has shown up; just when she had started putting the pieces of her life together, just to destroy her.

These thoughts made Bailey fight the rainstorm of tears threatening to explode through her eyes as she drove down.

And she accelerated more, in a bid to get to Ava as fast as possible.
