C19 Tension in the air

Bailey and Ava met with the private investigator, and Bailey expressed her fears about Liam, and what she feared might happen if Liam is not tamed.

Sitting opposite Ashley and Ava, private investigator Dimitri Volkov listened attentively.

Looking scared, and nervous, Ashley's voice trembled as she spoke.

"He's been calling me nonstop, threatening to take Carla away from me. I fear he is out to ruin my marriage".

"I'm sorry about how this incident makes you feel Bailey. But, have you met with him after all these years? Have you spoken with him, seeing you already know what he wants?". The private investigator asked.

"No, I haven't, and that was because I don't see any reason to. Carla is not his daughter". Bailey replied.

"Yet he needs to know about this. You have to meet with him and explain it all to him. Remember you told him about the pregnancy? That alone would make him believe the child is his".

"And the motherfucker abandoned her when he heard she was pregnant. What gave him the right now to seek the child's custody?!". Ava couldn't just contain her anger.

"Irrespective of that, he still deserves to know the truth. And you must let him know the truth. That way, you will be saving a lot of trouble". The investigator advises, ignoring Ava's choice of words. "It is only when the suspect is aware of his position in you and your daughter's life, and still insists on being a threat to your lives. Then a legal action would be taken against him". Dimitri concluded.

Then Bailey's phone began to ring. Looking at the caller ID, she panicked, and couldn't pick up the call immediately.

Then the call came in again, and again, and again. Yet she did not pick up the call.

Sensing who the caller could be, Ava stared at Bailey and feared for her.

If Carlos could have a wind of what is happening right now, Bailey would be in a very big problem.

"Fuck!". Ava swore as both friends locked eyes on each other a knowing look.

Bailey arrived home, but Dylan was not at home.

"Mrs Bailey where have you been? Mr Dylan has been looking all over for you". Natalie said to Bailey as soon as she stepped into the house. She also helped her remove her coat and carried her bag. The housekeeper's care aroused something suspicious in Bailey, and that made her heart skip.

"He has?".

"Yes he has. He has also been trying to reach you on the phone but you weren't taking your calls. Is everything alright with you Mrs. Bailey?!". The housekeeper peered into Bailey's face for a clue of what might be happening to her.

"Yes Natalie, everything is alright. I just need to freshen up right now, and have a good nap. I am fine". Bailey also tried feigning a smile, to convince the housekeeper that everything was fine.

And prayed she did well in that aspect, the last thing she wanted was to explain herself to anybody right now until she had succeeded in outing Liam in check.

"I hope Mr. Dylan believes that. But, if there is any problem, I'll advise that you let your husband know. He is really worried about you Bailey's, I have never seen Mr Dylan like that before".

Natalie Evan's advice sent a chilled sensation in Bailey's heart, and the thought of letting Dylan know about Carla yet made it worse. But, Bailey has to play along and convince Natalie that everything is fine.

"I appreciate your concern Natalie, but I can assure you, everything is alright".

Natalie shrugged, after staring at Bailey for some seconds, and walked back to the kitchen after excusing herself politely.

She knew that something was wrong somewhere, but if Bailey was not ready to talk about it; there was nothing she could do about it.

Dylan arrived home, and Bailey was already asleep.

He stood staring at her petite figure under the blanket for a while, and her bare smooth skin revealed at her shoulder area aroused him, and his manhood threatened to break out from his trousers.

But Dylan had to caution his libido; that wasn't the right time for excitement.

Tap! Tap!

Dylan tapped on Bailey's bare shoulder, and she turned to face him almost immediately.

Dylan didn't say anything, he just stared at her on the bed and Bailey returned the stare.

After a few seconds of staring at each other, Dylan finally spoke up.

"Explanation. Why weren't you taking your calls? Where did you go to?!".

Bailey rubbed her eyes lightly and sat up in the bed lazily.

The calm and slow way she did that kept threatening Dylan's libido, and she desired her immediately.

But he wasn't going to let his guard down; he had promised himself not to touch Bailey again, just to punish her.

"I'm listening". Dylan said that word to distract his feelings.

"I had a flat battery today, so couldn't take a call or call back". Bailey said, almost indifferently.

"The phone was ringing wifey. How do you explain that?". Dylan crossed his arms across his chest and asked Bailey, looking straight into her face for a reply.

He wondered what she would say this time.

Fishing out her phone beside her pillow, Bailey showed Dylan the screen, and the battery icon displayed 30&.

"See, I told you my battery was down". Bailey said.

Dylan does not still believe her, he still feels something is not entirely right.

"So where were you, why didn't you charge your phone". Dylan inquired further. It was obvious that he wanted Bailey to tell him something, something that may be bothering her. But Bailey was not ready to break the wall yet.

"I was with Ava, at a coffee shop. Are you satisfied now?!". Bailey wished Dylan could just let her be. She already had a long stressful day earlier and didn't need any more difficult situations now.

But Dylan was even more determined than Bailey could even imagine.

"Where is this coffee shop?".

"Are you kidding me right now Dylan?! I don't think that should be any of your business. Now can I go back to sleep, thank you?!". Without waiting for his response, Bailey turned and slid back under the blanket. And prayed her trick worked, she didn't know what more to do to get Dylan off her back.

Right under the blanket, with her eyes wide open, Bailey calculated what must be going on in Dylan's mind, and her heart raced with speed.

Watching Bailey under the blanket, Dylan fought the urge to join her so hard that he felt like he was glued to the ground right there. So many things ran through his head.

The big bulge in his trousers became so obvious, and he patted it gently turned around, and left the room to the bar to go get drunk.
