C2 Chapter 1

Tori.

-Four Years Later Today.-

Don't let up.

Run faster.

Don't let him catch up.

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me through the dense woods.

I could hear his feet hitting the ground with every step as he ran behind me.

I jumped over fall trees and logs.

I dodged branches and spiked bushes.

He's gaining on me. Shit.

I made a sudden turn to my right and headed towards the pack house.

"Tori stop!"

I ignored him and laughed. He really thought I'd stop?

I saw the pack house from afar as I ran nearer to it.

Almost there, almost there.

OOF!

I was tackled to the ground.

"Let me go !"

"You need to be more aware of your surroundings Tori. Don't just focus on who's chasing, listen from each and every direction. Keep your guard up."

I rolled my eyes.

"Yes Dad."

"Thank God you caught her, I was about to give up." My brother, Tony said as he caught up to me and my dad. He was the one chasing me.

"Slow ass."

He glared at me then flipped me off.

"Okay you two, okay. Go get ready so we can leave. The Alpha games start in an hour."

I groaned slightly.

The Alpha Games is the a series competitions held one a year with every Alpha from 26 packs in our State. I personally, don't see the point in it. Since my dad is the Beta to Our Alpha, Alpha Darren it was a must that he goes and if course, he drags Tony and I along with him.

I rather hang myself...

"Stop being a grouch Tori."Saphira said to me.

"You know I hate going to this."

"I know you do" She sighed. "But I feel different about this one."

I rolled my eyes and didn't reply.

"WELCOME TO THE ALPHA GAMES!"

A man said as he shouted in to the microphone.

I winced. Did he forget that werewolves have enhanced hearing?

"WE HAVE OUR 27 ALPHAS HERE WITH US, READY TO BEGIN."

Wait..27?

"Mom, he said 27. Aren't there 26 packs?" I whispered to my mom.

She shook her head and took a bite from her hot dog.

"We have a new Alpha. He made his pack somewhere near ours. I can't recall his name."

New Alpha? That's interesting.

The games were about to start and I honestly had no interest in paying attention so I put my headphones in and listened to music as I played Subway Surfers.

One more hour.

One more.

Just one more.

I was praying for this last hour to pass by quickly. The games were almost over and Saphira was getting antsy by every passing minute.

"Will you relax?" I growled at her.

"I can't." She said with a growl back.

"Why not?"

"Mate is near."

I froze at her words.

Mate..

He's here.

I looked around amongst the crowd until I felt my dad's hand on my shoulder.

"Are you okay sweetie?" He asked me through a mind link.

"Yeah I'm fine Dad." I replied and looked down towards the fame arena.

The Alphas were now racing in wolf form as another part of the games.

One wolf in particular caught my attention.

It was a dark brown with black paws and a streak of white on the side.

He was beautiful.

Saphira was purring with content in the back of my head.

"What's got you so giddy?" I asked her with a smirk.

She giggled. "That's our mate."
