C3 Chapter 2

"That's our mate." Saphira said giggled in my head.

My body tensed up and froze.

Mate?

Like most female werewolves you'd think I'd be excited and happy to have finally found my mate, but I was the opposite.

I wasn't ready for my mate.

I still so much I wanted to do and having a mate would mess it up because of their protective nature and the tempers and saying who you can and can't hang out with.

I am FAR from ready for that.

"Mom, dad, Tony, I'm going for a run. Saphira is antsy." I said to my family through our family mind link.

My dad glanced over at me and nodded his head with approval.

My mother did the same and my brother was too distracted by the games to even look at me.

Men.

I got up and headed to the arena exit as quickly as I could through the crowd.

Everyone began cheering and I guessed it was because one of the Alphas had won the race.

Should I turn around?

No, No, I can't..

Maybe...

"Shut the hell up and turn the fuck around, I want to see my mate." Saphira said angrily and I was shocked.

Wow, she never usually cusses.

I turned around to see the wolf Saphira recognized as our mate had won the race.

His wolf truly was beautiful..

His muzzle lifted into the air as he sniffed around.

Aw Shit..

I turned away from the arena quickly and shoved past the people in my way to get out.

As soon as I made it outside, I shifted and ran into the woods.

He knows I was there.

He probably knows who I am too.

I'm not ready for a mate, I'm just not.

I ran as fast as I possibly could on all fours to a nearby creek I sometimes go to to think.

I made my way to the medium sized creek and laid on the soft damp grass.

I could hear Saphira mumbling.

"I'm sorry Saphira."

She didn't answer but moved to the back of my mind in silence.

She'll forgive me sooner or later..

I turned my head to the direction of the sound of leaves rustling.

I was already up, in attack stance ready to kill anything who dared mess with me.

I sniffed the air and immediately regretted it.

Aw shit.

His beautiful dark brown wolf walked from behind a tree and laid next to my feet as he glanced up at me.

I felt a small pressure in my head.

He's trying to create a mind link with me Oh God.

Saphira started getting antsy and took control for a moment to accept the link he wanted to make.

"What the Hell Saph-"

"Shut up. He's our mate." She replied rudely and went silent.

"Shift." I heard another voice say and I knew it was him, my mate. His voice was deep and seductive. I loved it.

What the hell is wrong with me? No, I don't.

"Why?" I asked back, hoping to annoy him.

"To see my mate. If your wolf is this beautiful, you must be just as amazing in your other form. Shift."

Saphira was howling with joy at his compliment.

I sighed and got up to shift.

Thankfully, we can shift back and forth without damaging or ripping our clothes.

I shifted and stood up with my hands on my hips. His tail began to wag and I couldn't help but laugh.

Now he really is acting like a dog.

"What are you waiting for ? You shift too."

He lifted his muzzle up then down as a nod and shifted immediately. He stood up in front of me in his other form and shot me a dazzling smile.
