C6 Chapter 6

I was sitting at my desk, doing my math homework. It was raining outside, so I had nothing better to do anyway…well, I did, but I promised my grandma that I would do my homework (or a part of it) today.

I chewed on my pen and squinted my eyes at the numbers on the paper. Was this even humanly possible? No, it wasn’t.

My eyes drifted to the window. I hadn’t seen Nate in two days, maybe he locked himself inside the house or I just wasn’t paying attention. Anyway, it didn’t bother me. I was happy to say the least about not seeing him.

I pulled my knees to my chest, resting them at the edge of the seat, trying to solve the problem. It was a lost cause.

I slammed my notebook shut and grabbed my phone. I had no new texts, and I was glad. Nate hadn’t text me since the last time I saw him.

I curled my fingers, suddenly feeling like I was cold. I went to the closet and put some socks on, before I sat at my window seat, pulling my laptop over my lap.

I sat there until lunch, when Katherine came to announce that we were having French fries. I ate a bit; I didn’t want to put on any weight this summer.

After lunch, Katherine pulled my in her room and sat down on her bed, taking off her clothes.

"Wow.” I said covering my eyes.

"I need you to help me with my outfit for tonight."

"What’s tonight?” I asked confused.

"Nate’s party."

"What’s the occasion?"

She shrugged. “No occasion, his mother is going every week to this book club where grandma goes too, and they stay there until late, so when she comes home she finds a huge mess.”

"Oh god, poor Mrs. Harris.” I said biting my lip.

"Eh, Nate really doesn’t care. So! What should I dress up with?"

I looked at the choices she laid out. They were all slutty. Why wasn’t I surprised?

I pointed to the tight black dress that went with her black wedges. She smiled, and pulled the dress on, before turning to look in the mirror.

I sat down on the bed and watched her. She turned to look at me.

"What are you going to wear?"

"What? I’m not coming."

"Oh yes you are."

"I wasn’t even invited."

"Doesn’t matter. You’re coming tonight and that’s that."

"Fine."

"You’re going to wear a dress I hope you know that."

I rolled my eyes. She was getting on my nerves.

“Yeah I’m not going to wear a dress.” I mumbled and watched her as she went to her closet

She huffed and threw a crop top and a pair of skinny jeans at me. She then instructed me to get one of my wedges so I’d look somewhat presentable. I didn’t want to go to the party or whatever it was at all, but I also didn’t want the whole neighborhood making fun of me for being antisocial.

Grandma left two hours later with grandpa, so Katherine and I were alone. She was texting someone; probably Nate. I was chewing on my bottom lip, looking at the ticking clock on the because we had to be there at 9pm, and it was 08:55.

Katherine was just finishing her makeup in the mirror while I was plying Temple Run on my phone. I tried to ignore my increasing heartbeat, thinking of what might happen at the party.

“Let’s go!” she exclaimed clapping when she finished her makeup.

I stood up, wobbling a bit on my wedges. We exited the house and walked across the street. We could hear the music blasting from his house. The garden was filled with people dancing and chatting. I re-cognized a few faces from the beach party.

Katherine greeted a few people as we walked up the stairs. She turned around to make sure I was following her. I shot her a fake smile and entered the house.

The living room was full of people, and so was the kitchen. I looked around for Kaylee, and saw her talking to Jade, whilst sipping from a red cup.

I licked my lips and waved at her. She smiled when she saw me and waved for me to come over. I crossed my arms across my chest and shook my head, gesturing to her that I’ll join her later. I wanted to find a bathroom to check if I was decent. I didn’t know why.

“Hello.”

I turned around to see Sean smirking down at me, a lit cigarette hanging from his lips.

“Hi.” I said blushing. He was attractive and intimidating.

“Glad you could come.” he continued, taking a drag out of his cancer stick. I took a step back, not wanting to inhale the smoke.

“Uh, yeah.” I mumbled.

I coughed a bit because of the smoke.

“Do you want a drag?” he asked.

“No.” I responded immediately.

He let out a laugh, and I asked myself what was so funny. He was looking at someone behind me, so I turned around. I looked up to see Nate smirking down at me. He was wearing a red jacket, a white V-neck that showed his chest tattoos, skinny jeans and Vans. His hair was blonde now, tucked under a snapback.

“Were you doing something behind me?” I asked.

Both of them laughed, and Nate said:

“You wish Virgin Mary.”

“What?” I asked, my cheeks turning crimson.

He rolled his eyes and brought the red cup to his lips.

I excused myself, and walked over to Kaylee, giving up on the whole bathroom plan. One hour later, I found out that Jade was actually pretty cool. She was kind, but she was experienced from what I saw and heard.

I stared at the coffee table, at the iPhone that was plugged in the stereo system and was blasting loud music through the whole house.

Hannah and Katherine joined us too, and suddenly, the topic of discussion switched to Nate.

“Your hair is fucked up.” Hannah observed looking at Katherine. Her hair was indeed messed up, like someone tugged at it furiously.

“I wonder who did that…” Jade said, making all four of them laugh. I managed to crack a fake smile. They found the fact that Katherine and Nate were fuck buddies very amusing.

“We didn’t shag. He just ate me out.”

“Oh, he’s the best at that.” Hannah nodded and Jade agreed by raising her red cup towards her.

“His tongue piercing is amazing.” Katherine continued. “You know when he flicks it over my pussy…”

What. The. Fuck.

I noticed that the party started to die down so I looked at the clock on the iPhone that was still on the table. 11:34pm.

I sighed relieved. Finally we could leave. And I was happy, because nothing had happened.

I sat up and was about to ask Katherine if she wanted to leave, when Jake came inside holding an empty bottle. He cheered, yelling:

“7 Minutes in HEAVEN!”

The girls clapped excited, except of Kaylee and I. She bit her lip. I just wanted to go home, so I made an escape towards the door that led to hallway, when suddenly Sean appeared in front of me.

“Not leaving are you?”

I didn’t say anything.

“The best party is when there are only a couple people left,” he whispered in my ear and I shivered, taking a step back.

“We’re plying in my room.” Nate’s voice was heard.

Ricky, Nate, Jake, Sean, Hannah, Jade, Katherine, Kaylee, four more people and I all walked upstairs, after Nate instructed the people that were left in the living room to keep it down.

His room was bigger than mine, just like I expected: naked girl posters all over the walls, the bed was unmade, a TV in the corner and a desk next to the window.

His room had a perfect view to mine, and I was suddenly scared. He could clearly see everything I was doing if I wasn’t careful and forgot to close the curtains.

Hannah started ripping pieces of paper and writing all the girl’s names on them, before putting them in Nate’s snapback.

I sat down next to Katherine, looking around the circle. Everyone was suddenly sober, ready for an amazing game of 7 Minutes in Heaven.

My heart was beating fast. I didn’t know why in the world I’d agreed to this…I was inexperienced and if I’d ever get to in the closet with someone, I would be clueless. Then everybody would laugh at me.

I gulped and watched how Nate’s snapback was placed in the middle of the circle, containing every girl’s name.

“Since it’s my party, I’ll do the honors!” he said and pulled the sleeves of his plaid shirt up, revealing his sleeve tattoos.

Everyone watched him as he stared at the ceiling and bit his lip ring, roaming around in his cap. He pulled a paper out and unfolded it. He read the name and looked around to catch someone’s gaze.

When he locked eyes with me, he smirked.

My heart fell in my pants, and I suddenly wanted to die. No way. There was no fucking way I was going to go in the closet with Nate.

Nope.
