C2 Mysterious Boss

"Hello sir," said the public relations team, who were in charge of reception and those who were sent to support him.

Fanny Ward's attention fell on Jane. "Jane, I heard that you're the most outstanding employee in your department. You'll be in charge of the new CEO's work. Don't worry about anything else."

Jane nodded, but before she could respond, Madonna, a public relations employee, spoke up with a smug look.

"Jane, if our new CEO is still unmarried, will you develop feelings for him because you work closely with him and end up with him?"

Everyone knew it was inappropriate to get involved with the new CEO, even if there was a chance to get close to him.

Now there was a chance to get close to the new CEO, but everyone knew it would be a problem, and no one wanted to get involved in it. So Jane was asked to take it.

Fanny was serious as she scolded Madonna. "This could affect our future. Take this seriously."

After being chastised, no one spoke. Jane took a deep breath and focused on her work.

Fanny was understandably nervous. The news of a new CEO had come suddenly, and no one knew anything about him.

Just as everyone thought things were calm, the board of directors announced that a new CEO would be taking over.

However, this new boss was shrouded in mystery. Despite their efforts, no one had any information about him.

Jane wasn't usually one to join in on gossip, but she couldn't help craning her neck to see who this new CEO was.

"He's here. The directors and the new CEO have arrived," the receptionist announced over the walkie-talkie.

The staff quickly straightened up and stood at their posts to welcome the new CEO.

Jane walked closely behind Fanny Ward, eager to finally meet the mysterious new CEO everyone had been anticipating.

As she took a few steps forward, she saw a tall man in a silver-gray suit walking elegantly towards the announcement hall, escorted by a few men in black suits.

At first, Jane didn't pay much attention, but as the man drew closer, she was stunned.

The tall man in a silver-gray suit who was walking at the front of the crowd was her new husband, Edwin!

"This is impossible!" Jane thought, closing her eyes and shaking her head, hoping to wake up from what she thought was a hallucination.

But as she opened her eyes again, the man's appearance remained unchanged. It was indeed Edwin.

It was impossible for her to recognize him wrong.

His perfect face seemed as if it had been carefully sculpted, and he stood tall at around 6 feet and 2 inches with a strong, elegant figure.

The man before her was undoubtedly her new husband.

"Ed, Edwin?!" Jane blurted out, her eyes locked on the man.

The man seemed to hear her voice and turned his gaze towards her.

Jane was so nervous that she almost forgot to breathe when she met his gaze.

She would never have thought that her ordinary new husband would suddenly become the new CEO of the company she was working for.

As she looked at him, her head felt like it was about to explode.

But instead of a warm recognition, Edwin's gaze was cold and distant, as if he didn't know her at all.

Jane's heart sank. Why was Edwin looking at her like this?

In just a minute, various thoughts flashed across Jane's mind.

Is it a dream?

Edwin was always gentle and polite. He spoke and acted politely. He would never pretend not to know her.

She quickly reminded herself that this wasn't a dream, and that there was another possibility:

This man might have the same face as Edwin but was actually someone else entirely.

Fanny pulled Jane aside, scolding her for being distracted at such an important event. "Hurry up and follow."

Jane woke up from her daze and felt sorry for her distraction.

She quickly composed herself and followed the new CEO into the press reception hall with a professional demeanor.

As Fanny opened the door, the room erupted in applause, and all eyes were fixed on the entrance, waiting for the mysterious new boss to make his appearance.

Jane took a deep breath and followed closely behind the new CEO. After he sat down, she handed over the documents she had prepared.

Despite her professionalism, the fact that her husband was now her boss was overwhelming, and she accidentally dropped two folders.

Jane was about to retrieve them when Edwin bent down and picked them up for her.

He whispered in her ear, "Wait for me at home tonight."

His words left Jane stunned, and she momentarily forgot what to do.

Luckily, the reporters didn't notice her moment of distraction, and the Public Relations Department was well-prepared for the press conference.

The various departments cooperated well, and Edwin's dignified presence helped to make the conference a success.

As soon as they left, Madonna approached Jane. "You 'accidentally' dropped the documents just now."

Jane frowned and turned to Fanny. "I've finished what the PR Department arranged for me, so I'll return to the business department now."

Madonna was angry that Jane ignored her and muttered, "What right does she have to be so arrogant?"

Fanny glared at Madonna. "Don't cause trouble. If you continue, you'll be the next to leave. If you have the ability, do your job well. When you climb higher than her, you can be as arrogant as you want."

Madonna stared at Jane's back and replied hatefully, "I understand, cousin."
