C2 Come find me.

Joseph covered her with a blanket and then left.

Tanach slept until the afternoon. If her phone hadn't been ringing continuously, she would have probably slept until the evening.

It was a call from her classmate Rhyd: "Tana why didn't you reply to my WeChat message? The teacher is discussing in the group chat. We need to finalize the topic for our thesis today. Are you prepared? We're having a meeting at Room 306 on the third floor of the department building tonight."

Tanach repeated the word 'okay' several times before Rhyd hung up.

In the evening, Tanach took her backpack and packed some research materials for her thesis, then hurried to the department building of the school.

She was studying drama and film acting. As a newcomer, she didn't have many opportunities in film and television productions. Currently, she was focusing on stage acting to improve her skills. The film company she signed with offered her a high percentage of profit sharing in the contract, and she also had some savings now.

Despite being young, Tanach was stubborn. Even after getting married, she didn't want to spend Joseph's money. In the beginning, besides meeting for intimacy, they hardly had any extra communication.

Joseph was a powerful figure, his invested companies dominating the entire K City. He had served in the military for a period of time, and he had a cold-blooded and tough demeanor.

Tanach didn't like this kind of domineering and authoritarian person. She preferred gentle men who made her feel comfortable. However, as a woman with no support, she couldn't be Joseph's equal. He would resort to threats, enticements, and forcefully marrying her. There was nothing Joseph wouldn't dare to do.

Joseph, Joseph was the King of Hell in K City. Tanach had thought for a long time, why did Joseph choose her?

It started raining in the afternoon. The rain was not heavy, but the air was moist. It was rush hour, and there were many cars on the road.

Tanach hadn't slept well last night, and she felt tired today. She put on some makeup to look slightly refreshed. When she arrived at the school, she met Rhyd, bought a cup of hot coffee, and went straight to the department building to meet the teacher.

The thesis advisor she chose was kind and amiable, wearing an elegant blue striped shirt and high heels. Despite being in her fifties, she occasionally wore delicate makeup. She was a respected and elegant woman.

There were a total of ten people in this thesis group. After some discussions, the teacher helped them finalize the topics and then took them to Glitz Hotel for a meal.

The lighting was splendid, and the golden walls were dazzling. Several students kept toasting the teacher, saying that the teacher shouldn't have to pay for the expenses.

After Tanach had a few drinks, her mouth felt hot. She wanted to go outside for some fresh air. While washing her hands in the restroom, she heard the sound of running water from the men's restroom. Faintly, she could hear the mixed heavy breathing of men and women, as well as a girl's suppressed crying.

After all, she has known about love affairs for some time now and wouldn't be unaware of what it is.

A wave of disgust washed over Tanach's heart. How could she have encountered such a filthy matter?

Tanach hurriedly finished washing and was about to leave, but unexpectedly, she heard a slap and a loud voice from behind the door: "You damn woman! I slept with you, and you should consider it a favor. Why are you crying? And what's with the act of being innocent and pure? What's wrong with being with me? Are you unwilling?"

"You scoundrel! Shameless! I'm calling the police! I'll sue you! You're a rapist!"

The foot that was walking out of the door slowly retracted back. Tanach's heart raced as the forgotten humiliation slowly resurfaced.

How familiar these words were. Back then, Joseph had behaved the same way. The first time they met at a New Year's Eve party, Joseph relentlessly pursued her. He even used her mother as a threat, which eventually led to this situation.

The door opened, and a disheveled man adjusted his pants and stepped out. He pulled out a card and stuffed it into the bosom of a woman who was covering her chest. The woman had a delicate appearance, her heavily made-up face crying like a kitten.

"Here, take it. It's just money. With this, you won't have to worry for the rest of your life. Let me enjoy myself; it's your blessing."

"I curse you! I'll sue you!"

"You dress so pretty and wear such a short skirt. Isn't it an invitation for someone to take advantage?" The man was skinny, had a wicked look, bulging eyes, and a sleazy appearance that made one want to vomit.

"You want to sue me? Take a look at yourself first."

He turned around to leave.

Tanach already had her phone in hand, taking photos and recording videos.

When the man saw her, he snorted disdainfully. "Mind your own business. How much longer do you think you'll live?"

With indifference, Tanach tapped him and said, "You dare to act but not take responsibility. If this video gets out, do you think you'll face no consequences?"

The man smirked suggestively. "Little girl, make sure you know who you're dealing with. You should also see if she's willing to go along with you."

Tanach was stunned for a moment. The weeping woman had slowly stood up and was walking towards her, her face now filled with anger, completely different from the aggrieved appearance moments ago. She said, "Delete it. Who do you think you are, daring to meddle in our affairs?"

The woman covered her swollen cheek and adjusted her clothes in front of the mirror as if the previous humiliation didn't exist, standing tall and full of pride.

The man laughed heartily and walked away arrogantly. As he left, he turned back and looked at Tanach's figure and face with ill intentions, feeling a sense of familiarity.

Tanach stood there silently, feeling that the woman was both pitiful and miserable, thinking that she was just scared.

She wasn't foolish. She knew that the man from before was either wealthy or influential, evident from the million-dollar watch on his wrist. He was not someone to mess with.

"Give me your contact information. I'll send you the video. If you want me to testify, feel free to call me anytime."

After wiping away the last tear, the woman snatched Tanach's phone and deleted the video. She then threw the phone back at her with a disgusted look on her face. She said, "Mind your own business! It has nothing to do with you! Shut your mouth!"

Tanach felt a wave of disgust in her heart. That's right, what kind of good person was she acting as in this rotten matter?

If it had happened to her, wouldn't she have kept it to herself forever?

What was the difference between them?

At that moment, the phone rang. It was Joseph calling. He said, "Are you also at Glitz Hotel? The hotel manager saw you."

Tanach furrowed her brows, suppressed her disgust, and replied honestly, "The thesis advisor invited us for a meal, so I came."

"Is it over?"

"Not yet."

"When it's over, come find me. Just let the hotel manager know, I've already informed him."

Tanach acknowledged with an "okay" and hung up the phone.

After finishing her business, Tanach took her bag and went to find the hotel manager, mentioning Joseph's name.

The hotel manager took the hint and brought her to the room that Joseph had booked.

Joseph's room must have been the most luxurious and best-positioned. As she climbed to the top floor and walked through the corridor, she ran into the same pair, the slender man and woman she had encountered in the restroom—unexpectedly, they had crossed paths again.

Tanach felt both annoyed and disgusted at the sight of them. When the man and woman saw the hotel manager bringing Song Jiao to the top floor, a look of surprise flashed in their eyes.

The top floor of the Glitz Hotel was a mysterious area. The hotel reservation always showed that it had been booked. What kind of background did this woman have to be able to stay on the top floor?

The slender man, David, came from a well-off family. He had come today to sign a contract with Glitz. Glitz Corporation, located in K City, was a leading company and a benchmark for investments. Anyone who could cooperate with Glitz wouldn't worry about making money.

David had a plan: Could this little girl be the little lover of the person in the upper echelons of the Glitz?

If he could bribe her and use her as a bridge, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Tsk, David's eyes darkened as he remembered who she was. A celebrity in the entertainment industry? He had seen Tanach's advertisements.

Tanach went to the top floor. The facilities were complete. There was a swimming pool, a gym, and even a dedicated hot spring bath...

This was not her first time here, she had been here many times. In every corner, on every bed, and even on every piece of glass and mirror, there are shadows of her and Joseph making love.

She was puzzled again. What was so likable about her body? Why hasn't he grown tired of it yet?

He was too powerful, and she was no match for him. His possessiveness was intense and passionate. Since she couldn't compete, she might as well be obedient and suffer less.

There is no such thing as an everlasting marriage. She believed that one day he will grow tired of her, and then she can escape and fly away.

Joseph looked at the proposal submitted by the Miller family and circled and marked several mistakes and omissions. Tanach had arrived, but he hadn't finished reading the document.

As soon as he saw her appear in front of him, he got up and walked over, putting his arm around her shoulder. "Have you eaten well tonight? Do you want to eat a little more?"

Tanach said she didn't need to and borrowed his computer to organize her research materials.

Her attitude was cold, but asking him for help made him happy.

Joseph was easily satisfied with such small things,

and Tanach knew how to make him happy.
