C82 A Unique Elf

The elf girl wasn't like the other elves because she has white hair, and blood red eyes. The elves are known for there yellow golden hair, and emerald eyes so seeing the girl's appearance was rather unique.

"Why do have a different hair color, and eye color from the elves?" Rem asked the elf girl.

"I... I'm an half elf and half dark elf. My mother was an elf who joined the war but was then taken and raped by an dark elf or in short my father. My mother then went back to this city when she felt she was pregnant, and she then gave birth to me. My mother loved me so much but the other elves treated us badly because of me so we ended up living a poor life. Because of that, my mother joined a mercenary group to bring food to the table but she died while on a mission. Now, no one can take care of me, and my only way to survive is by stealing from people." The elf girl answered.

When Rem heard this, he couldn't help but feel pity for the girl. The girl looked like an 8 year old child, and he can see how thin her arms are. It's clear that the girl was malnourished.

"Why didn't you go to the orphanage? I'm sure they'll take in." Rem asked.

"That's also what I thought at first but they rejected me because of this accursed hair and eyes! The orphanage told me that I'm a living bad omen! I d-don't know if I c-can still go on in this l-life!" The girl answered, and started to break down.

When Rem saw this, he made Black remove all the shadow hands holding the girl. Rem then moved towards the girl, and hugged her to calm her down. The elf girl was dirty but Rem didn't mind.

"Everything will be okay. Don't give up, and treasure the life your mother has given you. Others might think you're a curse or a bad omen but remember that your mother must have thought you're a blessing because she loved you dearly. Also, I don't think one is born as a curse but one can only be a curse or a bad omen if they choose to live as one. You have a pure heart so don't ever think that you're a curse." Rem said while stroking the girl's hair.

When the girl heard this, she cried even harder while saying 'thank you' to Rem. She cried for an hour before she calmed down.

"What's your name? Do you want to come with me?" Rem asked.

"My name's Ruby. Yes! Please let me come with you!" The elf girl said.

"Alright, but you have to sign a slave contract with me. Don't worry I won't treat you badly after you signed the contract with me. I just have secrets that I'll be showing you that I don't want to be spread." Rem said.

"Okay!" Ruby replied after a few seconds of silence, and Rem took out a slave contract after.

After a few minutes, Ruby has the slave mark on her forehead while Rem's name on her hand.

"Let's go, and I'll bring you to my house." Rem said.

"But... people might hate you if they saw you hanging around with me." Ruby said to warn Rem. She didn't want Rem to experience what her mother did.

"I don't care so shall we go?" Rem asked while taking Ruby's hand.

"O-okay!" Ruby said shyly.

They then walked back to Rem's house, and while on the road Rem noticed the eyes of the elves that are full of contempt, and disgust to Ruby. Ruby trembled when she felt many eyes looking at her.

"Don't mind there eyes." Rem said to make Ruby feel safe.

"T-thank you." Ruby said, and calmed down a bit after.

They soon arrived at Rem's house after a few minutes. They both went inside, and they then teleported to the Pocket Dimension.

"What is this place!?" Ruby asked clearly shocked with what was happening.

"This is a place where no one cares of what race you are born with. In here, you won't think that you're an outsider." Rem said, and started to show Ruby around.

While this was happening, Rem tried checking Ruby's skills. He was then shocked to see that the girl has all the inherent skills of an dark elf, and an elf. Not only that but the girl has an extra inherent skill called Heavenly Essence's Body.

The Heavenly Essence's Body has the ability to increase one's capacity to store heavenly essence in the body by 2 times. Rem can cast Grandmaster Spells by 2 times only before his heavenly essence in his body turn empty but with this skill he can cast Grandmaster Spells four times.

Not only that but Rem can make the skill level up into the max level. Rem instantly copied the skill, and it reached level 10. The inherent skill now makes one's capacity to store heavenly essence in the body by 10 times.

Rem then spent the whole day touring Ruby around. He also created a new house for Ruby where she can live in.

Before Rem left, Ruby made a request.

"Can I live with you instead in this house? I want to act as your personal assistant, Rem. I want to always stay by your side." Ruby asked.

"You can but right now you're still not qualified to be my personal assistant. Stay here for now, and train here. I'll come and pick you up when you're already qualified." Rem said. He didn't want to bring Ruby along for now. Ruby was still weak, and will just be a burden outside the Pocket Dimension. She didn't even have a 1st Rank body cultivation making her one of the weakest being in this world.

"Okay... I promise to train hard so I can accompany you in the future." Ruby sadly said.

"Good. Train hard, and I'm sure you'll be strong when you grow up!" Rem said, and then passed the maximum leveled Heavenly Essence's Body to Ruby.

"I'll be going now." Rem said after passing the skill. He then teleported out of the Pocket Dimension.

While this was happening, Reva appeared beside Ruby.

"Hmph! You're ignorant if you think you can come with master with your current strength. Weakling! You don't even know how to address master respectfully, calling him Rem only without master is disrespectful." Reva said to Ruby.

"Who are you? Also, I might not be qualified now but I'll surely be in the future like what Rem said." Rudy replied back.

"Sure you'll be qualified but I'm already with master's side when that time comes. Hahahahaha!" Reva said, and then left.

"Arghh! I'll show you!" Ruby angrily replied, and then went inside her house.

Rem didn't know that when he left, a pair of girls now considered each other as rivalries.
