From a distance, Bella watched as Alpha Carl Trevor began to laugh uncontrollably. She often observed him in this manner, and it took a while for him to regain his composure. "Wow, Bella Moonshadow, you truly are something," he scoffed. "You're not pretty, and you can't do anything properly. But I'll admit, you are brave. Which sound-minded werewolf would desire you as a mate?" Bella felt a sting in her chest from his words and silently gazed at the ground.

Regardless of her feelings, Trevor continued, "You've spoilt my evening. Wasted my time when I could've been with Alice. Make your own way home. Plus, your allowance for this month is slashed by half!"

He got in his car and sped off, leaving Bella standing there. After a moment of being alone, she began her long walk to the nearest bus stop.

A few minutes later, a grand limousine pulled into the police station's parking lot. Alpha Xavier sat quietly in the back while Carl, his aide, opened the door. "Alpha Xavier, do you want to take a look inside?" Carl questioned.

"No need," he replied. "Just make sure she doesn't goof up like this again. I'm not saving her any more."

Carl nodded before walking into the police station, leaving Xavier alone in the limo. Bella trailed after the vehicle, unable to see them but able to overhear their conversation.

On the phone, Xavier spoke, "Bella is always so reckless, she stormed off without taking any cash. How couldn't she have led a more responsible life? What's a scruffy waitress like her doing in our circles anyway?"

He lit a cigarette just as Carl came out of the station. "Alpha Xavier, Bella's been taken!"

"Taken? By whom? Alpha Zachary?" Xavier asked. Carl shook his head. "No, by Alpha Carl Trevor."

Xavier smirked at the news, knowing of the close friendship between the two alphas and seeing Bella being taken as confirmation of her importance to Zachary.

Crushing his cigarette, Xavier commanded, "Let's proceed."

After a long bus ride, Bella finally arrived home to find her Uncle George in the living room. Taken aback by her appearance, he asked, "Bella, what happened to you?"

"I faced a bit of trouble," she confided, holding nothing back.

"Bella, you should not have gone back..." he began to scold.

"Uncle, I can't stay with Zachary indefinitely. And besides, I've been concerned about you..." she replied, trying to calm him down.

Worried about his health and the trouble it was causing Bella, he sighed. To console him, she informed him of the Alpha Corporation's expansion plans to the Seaview City pack, which could potentially relieve them of constant conflicts.

At the same time, an old servant from her father's house was keeping tabs on her estranged sister and her manipulative mother and reporting everything back to her. At the Turner family home, Samantha barged in looking for her mother. A visibly shocked Pamela Green asked, "What happened, Samantha?"

"Let's head upstairs," Samantha declared and led her mother to her room. Once inside, she exclaimed, "Mom, Bella Moonshadow is back. What do we do?"

"Is it true?" Pamela asked, in disbelief.

Once it was confirmed, Pamela was nervous about Bella's return and the possibility of her father finding out. They both knew they had to act quickly before anyone else learned of Bella's return or their connection to her.
