C8 The Meet Up

It’s been weeks since Letitia was on Arther’s territory. No one tried to hurt her again nor tried to bully her. Letitia goes to Arther's office to ask where Noelle is as she is confused about why the h*ll she disappeared all of a sudden. Before she could make a knock, Arther already knew she was at the door so she let her in.

By surprise, Letitia holds the doorknob and opens the door slowly. She took a glimpse inside and saw Arther smoking which made her cover her nose in disgust by smelling the smoke of a cigarette. Arther noticed it so he opened the window and put out the cigarette.

"Do you need something?" Arther asks her. Letitia was still covering her nose as she can still smell the cigarettes.

"I just want to ask, where is Noelle?" she asks. Arther’s face started to be confused.

"I kick her out," Arther deliberately answers her, which makes her eyes widen.

"But, why?" she asks him. Arther looks at her confusedly and takes a step forward toward her.

"I will give you another maid that can also protect you when you’re in danger," he responded quickly but that didn’t make Letitia relieved instead she was mad at him for saying those things. As if Noelle didn’t do her best to protect her.

"Noelle is a good maid for me, she protected me from those thugs and you dare to say those things as if she didn’t try to protect me? And what? you kick her out?" Arther was surprised by Letitia's sudden change of behavior. He thinks that Letitia and Noelle might grow something beautiful bond between them that made her act like that.

"I know that I already know that but what I want for you is a maid that can also protect you without even a scratch from your body. It hurts the h*ll of me seeing you in pain, and I can’t afford to see you like that," Arther replied to her in a calm voice while staring at Letitia's eyes.

"I don’t know what's gotten into you, why are you being so protective? I mean, we don’t even have some history that we met or that we had a conversation with. Letitia asked him confusingly but Arther couldn’t tell her that she was his mate and would soon be the Luna of the Cruel Claws Pack.

"It’s just, there is something that urges me to protect you. It pains me to see you with bruises and blood covering your body. I may sound weird but bear with me Letitia, I don’t have any bad intentions toward you," Arther replied once again.

Letitia didn’t even try to reply to him and just let out a heavy sigh. She can’t demand by bringing Noelle back as she thinks that it might be rude of her to demand so much of him when she has a big debt to pay to him.

"I’m sorry for asking that, I shall take my leave," she speaks and turns her back on him. Slowly taking steps away from him and softly closes the door.

She leaned her back against the door and started whining about how she acted earlier when she was supposed not to do it in front of an Alpha. "Gosh, Letitia how dare you to shout like that to him. Can’t you just shut your mouth like at home?" she speaks to herself and decides to take herself away from Arther's office.

Hours passed, and Scott had been with her for a while when she decided to take a stroll to accompany her. Arther was still trying to find some knights to be her loyal knights that would willing to sacrifice themselves to protect her master but he was thinking that it might be good if Letitia herself picked one.

"Miss Letitia, what if we go in that direction? I heard there is a game where the most remarkable werewolf knights in our pack will spar with each other. Don’t you want to see them fighting?" Scott out of nowhere asks her which makes her confused but Letitia thinks as well that it might be a good idea rather than watch people walking, running, and selling goods.

"Sure Mr. Scott, please take me there."

On the other side, a young lad in his 18s was beaten up by a group of men who were giving him punishment by raising his voice to them.

"You have the guts to raise your voice at me! Do you know what’s the punishment for you kids for raising your voice at me!? I am your master and you don’t have the right to speak ill of me you son of a b*tch!" The leader of the group shouted and kicked him on his head with a strong impact that made him roll on the ground. Bruises, blood dripping from his head and broken bones were making the young lad growl in pain.

He tried to stand up, however, the man who kicked his head was not yet done. Fortunately, Scott and Letitia heard them shouting and appeared in front of them. The man quickly recognized who was in front of them which made him bow on the ground. "B-beta Scott! What are you doing here?" the man asks.

The young lad was thrown on the ground and slowly bowed himself to give respect to Scott. And so the other guys behind them who are in a group of the leader. "What did he do?" Scott asks.

"He disrespects his master, my Lord. I beat him to make him know that he mustn’t do that and to always respect the person who feeds him and give him a home," the leader quickly replied.

Letitia moves her eyes to look at the young lad. "But it’s too much," she murmured.

"Stop beating him and return to your houses, kids are everywhere to watch the spar, and yet something terrible was happening here. Alpha Arther doesn’t want to know something like this if I will see that kid beaten up like that again, I will cut your head into halves do you hear me?" The leader was trembling in fear and hastily nodded his head.

"Y-yes my Lord, I will remember that," the leader speaks and continues to nod his head.

"Miss, let us go," Scott speaks as he gestures his hand to walk away from them. Letitia looks at the young lad bowing his head once again before leaving. The young lad just clenches his fist in anger and takes a deep breath. He resents people with authority and power.
