C7 Perazim

"Mother, you know you do not have to do this," Mysus whispered to herself. Her mother had taken out both her brother and the Reaper. She knew she needed to think fast or else she would join in her mother's transference but she couldn't come up with anything rational. Still, in her psychotic state, Lethana would kill her child before she even realized it.

"You must calm down, Mother, take a look at what you've done to Bilel". In order to avoid upsetting her mother, who was slowly making her way into her inner chambers with an unheard motion that appeared to indicate that she hadn't had enough of hurling her victims from one corner to another, seeing that she paid to heed to her petition, Mysus grumbled as she moved away.

Mysus, unlike her other siblings, was never one to show weakness, particularly in situations like this, but the Alpha female was involved, she was powerless around her mother because Lethana possessed the necklace that symbolized the authority and strength of Zelehas, passed down by her mothers. Mysus was fully aware that her mother utilized the power that emanated from the necklace and would have been utterly useless without it, and then an idea struck her, she calculated her chances of getting to her mother and yanking the necklace off her without getting harmed, but it seemed they were very slim, her mother wasn't simmering down where she sat and she barely recognized anyone in her crazed state.

Mysus strolled casually toward where the duo was and picked up the Reaper, looking at the Reaper straight at eye length, and without waiting for her mother to respond, she snapped the Reaper's arm in half.

She let out a loud wail that shook the castle walls.

"Such a charlatan you are Reaper", she mused

"Mysus what the heck, what did you do that for", Bilel groaned.

"No reason now to get hasty, I was nervous and you know I hate to show fear, especially in front of you....", she shrugged and extended her hand to him, lifting his weight with an effort that caused her to grunt.

When he was up, she whispered in his ear, ".....we need to get Mom's necklace out of here too"

"Oh no you don't...have you lost your mind, her necklace is always on her Mysus, did you think about that? "

"Not quite but listen, mom is close to powerless without her necklace, if we manage to yank it from her neck we'll be safe till when she gets it back...at least."

"Mysus, it's too risky, I can't be a part of this, how do we even get close to her in this state."

"Let's not talk about her like she's not still in this room, we need to get you both out of here first. "

"I'll heal, so don't worry about me." He took off his arm from her shoulders and limped out of the throne room. Mysus reached out and heaved the Reaper into her shoulders, her head and arms swinging down Mysus.

When they were back in their quarters and out of earshot. Bilel ripped off his shirt from his chest and lay on his bed staining the sheets with red from his wounds, he covered the deep cut on his stomach with his large hands and let the remaining healing take its course on his body. Mysus came out from the washroom with a bowl and wet rag and carefully cleaned the blood that covered his neck to his lower belly.

"Does it hurt?"

"Not if I don't think about it"

"Well don't think about it too much"

"I'm trying not to....thanks for being brave, I cowered and I don't know what would have happened if you had chickened out too." He paused, trying to draw in more breath. "Why did Mom attack me?" He asked no one in particular.

Mysus opened her mouth as if to speak but quickly closed it when no words were forthcoming.

"Is what the Reaper said true?"

"What?"

"The part about Mom not having an heir". His wound had closed but the healed bruises left bright red scars on his body. He leisurely touched the ones on his abdomen, enjoying the aftereffect the pain had on his senses, he tried getting up but Mysus motioned to him to remain in his position

"I told you, I've been reading, you should try it too", while she spoke, she took a pillow from the corner of the double-sized bed and cushioned his head with it.

"Don't start, just answer my question",

"Yes it is," She mumbled casually, her attention focused on inspecting her brother's bruises.

"Yes it is," she repeated.

"One of the history books also says that the necklace of Zelehas harnasses so much power that it could corrupt if it got into inexperienced hands that hadn't gone through a proper ritual and make them go rogue"

"You don't think Mom could have been corrupted, maybe that was why she hurt me,"

"I don't know for sure, but if that is what it is, I think we have to get the necklace from her soon, but how, she never takes it off," the frown on her face had deepened, forming more lines on her forehead."

"We'll come back to that later, right now u need to know about this whole no heir thingy"

"If what the Reaper said is true that means we are all done for."—Bilel

"No, we're not, yes, indeed, males are rarely birthed as the first child, and when that happens it's only logical that the most worthy should take over the throne,"

He laughed at her words and only stopped laughing when her face turned bright red. "So you're the chosen one eh?" He tried concealing his smile that eventually turned into an uproar not minding her reaction

"If you weren't hurt already, I'd twist your arm so bad it'll snap," she huffed in between clenched teeth.

"Like what you did to the Reaper?" He poked fun at her, his tone mocking her.

"I told you I was nervous so cut it out,"

"You need some rest, I'll get someone to heat some water for your bruises." And with that, she stood up and headed for the room door.

"Mysus," he called out

"I need some new sheets too and I don't think putting the Reaper in our dispensary will do her any good, she's no longer one of us."

"Right, I'll make sure Mom doesn't find out about it."

"We're going to get the necklace tonight," he sat up on the bed and scooted over to the side edge where a large painting was mounted.

She left the door and rushed up at him, "Do you mean," she tried concealing the excitement that was surging into her head but the more she tried, the more she let it out.

"I can so hug you right now," she squealed.

"Don't even think about doing that, just go get ready, I'll need my rest before we leave...one more thing, get me some books from the library would you?"

"Yes, yes anything. I'll go get ready, anything else?"

"That'll be it."
