C10 Flint leaves: Hazel heartbroken

I'll just go home immediately." I said, stressing the word 'immediately.'

I turned around to leave, but suddenly felt a presence behind us.

I sensed Kayla and Charlotte felt it too cause they took a defensive position.

And just then, that familiar voice came in.

"Hey girl's, I understand how hard it is for you to accept me as a friend. I understand your fears and also the dangers. I understand how catastrophic it can be for a wizard to be friends with you. It's absurd right, I know, i understand. And I want to promise you that I'd go away, and you'd never bother of seeing me again." Flint said with that hint if pain in his voice.

Somehow, I could see the pain, and I could almost feel it, and as he was done speaking, he turned around to leave just as he promised.

I looked at Kayla and Charlotte with that same expression of hate in my eyes.

Flint was gone and it was their fault.

{Flints Pov}

I had finally said it all out. When I sat there, and watched the girls converse among themselves, I felt there was no point in burdening themselves because of me. That was exactly the same lecture, mother gave me everyday.

'In this life Flint, you must not expect that you can be friends with anyone.' Her voice stung to my ears like a leprosy, that wouldn't be healed Any time soon.

I had left Hazel and her friends to their fate as I headed back home, with my heart filled with pain. As I walked away, somehow, I listened, I listened to hear if they'd call me back and say that we could be friends, and prove mum all wrong, but it never happened.

If wishes were horses..........

Just few minutes, and it felt like I was really attached to Hazel somehow, but what I didn't understand was why and how. I couldn't even explain 'whatever it is' I was feeling.

I'm split seconds or let's say minutes rather, I was at the temple. How fast time flies.

I headed into the temple or rather coven stead, wishing that no one would see me. All I wanted was to head straight into the room and enjoy loneliness. Somehow, I thought my wish was fulfilled, as I was just about stepping into my room, I heard mother's voice blasting at the back of my head.

"Where have you been to, Young man?." Mother asked in that threatening and hoarse tone.

That Tone that was supposed to humble me and leave me trembling, but anyways, it made me want to dare her and challenge her.

I was already used to mother using that tone on me, but the last thing that I would ever think of doing was to show the slightest hint of fear, and that fear was mum's strength.

"And since when did you start investigating my movements, huh?." I asked sarcastically, thus, replying her question with another question.

"Flint, don't you dare speak to me in that manner. Are you out of your mind?." She screamed, as she fumed in anger.

"I'm sorry." I apologized with a slight smirk on my face. I just, couldn't care less what she was feeling.

"I'mma let that pass, secondly, Tayla reported that you were am obstacle to a very important mission I sent her on? Can you explain that?." She asked, this time with a less threatening tone but a deadly glare.

"Mum, I'm really not ready and prepared or even in the right frame of mind for this discussion. Can we leave it for later please?." I asked and that immediately threw her off guard.

"Flint, do you—." She tried scolding me, but, like I said, I wasn't prepared for any of this, so I just walked into my room, and bolted the door behind me, leaving her speechless.

Soon enough, I heard stomping footsteps down the stairs, she was gone. I went into the bathroom, and ran a quick shower, and after that I slid into my pyjamas, and then went ahead to lay on the bed wishing for sleep to come, but it was miles away from me.

I kept tossing and turning on the bed, trying my possible best to take my mind off Hazel, but that wasn't working, but soon the long awaited sleep came, and I drifted off.

* * * *

I heard hands banging on my door heavily, and that aroused me from this precious sleep. I stood and and sluggishly went to check on who was at the door.

I was about opening the door, but instincts told me to listen, and so I pressed my ears against the door eavesdropping. I couldn't even hear it, perhaps this was a foolish idea, so I just opened the door, only to find Tayla and mother.

I sighed and was about shutting the door, but mum stopped me.

"Flint." She called giving me her deadliest glare, her eyes filled with an anger like a volcano about to erupt.

"What is it again?." I shot back, giving her that same cold stare.

"Fli—." She started, but then, her face suddenly turned pale.

"Aunt are you okay?." Tayla asked with worry visible I'm her expression.

"Shut it!!." She screamed and immediately, her eyes turned bloody red.

She turned and twisted her head about, and immediately she screamed.

"Humans just invaded the temple, find them and bring them to me, now!!." She screamed and almost immediately Tayla ran off.

Mum also left me at that instant, and that was quite a relief for me. I went back into my room to rest, but mum's voice kept replaying in my head.

"Humans are in the temple, find them and bring them to me, now." It kept echoing and I felt really troubled so i immediately changed my clothes into something decent and dashes off the stairs.

If there were humans in the building, then I would have to find them first. Else, if mum gets them first, their fate is sealed.

"Flint." An unknown yet familiar voice breathed out In a whisper.

I halted abruptly and looked around. I couldn't fanthom where the voice was coming from.

"Who's there?." I asked summoning all the courage left in me.
