C9 Honest Vow

The wedding was being held today, at 6:00 PM. Zane and his family were ready to have a memorable moment, as the former prayed it would be memorable for him and Sangla. Zane hid a piece of paper in his pocket and waited till the wedding was underway. The local pastor, Connor Banks arrived to perform the recitation of the vows. Sangla was having a bit of a moment, as she never thought she would see this day so soon. Not that she did not wish to go through this marriage, as she did love Zane a lot. However, in a way she was happy albeit feeling shy, as she was getting married at the age of twenty. Zane also felt nervous, as this was happening a little too fast, faster than what he anticipated.

“You ready Zane?” asked Steve. “Yeah, more than ever!” said Zane. He then got himself together and, in his head, he calmed himself down. If anything, he pictured his seventh-grade math teacher, in nothing but his underpants, which brought a smile to his face. And much to his delight, he saw a chocolate fountain, at the plaza reception desk. “Alright, everyone!” said Zane, looking at his family and friends. “Let’s go and have a good time! Hoo-ah!” “Hoo-ah!” said Jonathan. “Hoo-ah!” said Steve, Dallas, Peter and Kevin; simultaneously. All the ladies smiled, rolled their eyes, and also said, “Hoo-ah!” and went to the plaza ballroom.

Sangla got into her wedding dress and calmed herself down. Her parents looked at her. “Honey are you okay?” said Delia. “Yeah, just having those nervous vibes.” “It’s alright, when your father and I got married, both me and him were nervous this way!” said Delia. “Alright, pumpkin!” said Ron. “Let’s get this underway, as time is short and it’s almost 6:00!” Mikail also helped his sister to get ready, while deep inside he was still worried about Ronim and the plan he sought to execute on July 19th. “Alright guys!” said Sangla. “Ready!”

The two lovers then showed up into the ballroom as coordinated by Amanda, Kristen, Angela and Delia. Father Banks then begun the sermon. A few drones flew above the venue and captured digital 8K footage of the wedding. As the ceremony progressed, Zane and Sangla kept staring at one another, saying “I do!” on their cues and smiled as they looked at one another in love. Zane felt relaxed, as he knew he was staring at the woman he loved. Sangla was finally at ease, as she began to entrust the man she had fallen in love with. She was happy, Zane was a much better match than Ronim, her ex-boyfriend. The pastor then pronounced Zane and Sangla, man and wife, respectively. The two began to kiss. Kristen began to clap, and so did everyone in the room. C.O.R.A and Z.E.R.O, who were watching from the cloud, also began to clap. It was a beautiful moment, where Zane and his family rejoiced in harmony. Sangla and her family were glad to have a man, such as Zane in their lives. Zane shared a lot of hugs with his family members and close friends, as Sangla followed suit.

Mikail then decided to man up and leave an anonymous email to the local police inspector, Arjun Singh Rathod. Arjun, born in Los Angeles to a Punjabi family from Ambala, Haryana, India; in 2008, had moved to the United States at the age of four. He lived in Teraville, since the age of ten and joined the local police department in 2027, while completing UCLA with a dual major in Criminal Justice and Cybersecurity. Apparently, he was promoted to Inspector in 2030 after successfully putting an end to the city’s women and drug trafficking in the same year. Mikail related Ronim’s plan to release his volatile virus to the world, and kill almost everyone who used a computer, smartphone or similar digital device.

Zane then took out the piece of paper around 8:00 PM, grabbed a microphone and began to make an announcement. “If I can please get everyone’s attention to me for at least five minutes, I’d love to say something!” said Zane. “Before today, I never really had known what love is, nor have I ever been lucky to have met a girl, such as Sangla Kanzen. This is a piece that I have penned for her.” He then turned towards Sangla. “Sangla Kanzen Galnac, this is for you!” He then unfolded the paper, and began to recite the poem:

Honest Vow

A Love Story Always Begins On An Honest Vow!

One That Can Be Good Or Bad Depending On What You Sow.

Our Time Has Come To Love Each Other Now!

So Let Us Celebrate With As Time Is Running Low!

You Know You Loved Me When We Met All Those Years Back,

A Love That Always Was Kept In A Sack.

But Now You Do Not Worry For I Am Here!

I Will Take Care Of You As Long As We Are Near.

There Is A Void In Me That Needs To Be Addressed.

A Void That Had Been Causing Me Stress!

Now That I Admitted My Love For You,

I Want To Prove My Love Indeed Is True!

Love Nowadays Is No Longer Hard To Find!

Barriers And Borders Are All In The Mind!

I Am Glad I Was Not Shot On Sight!

Our Love Was Strong And We Have Won The Fight!

“This piece is especially for you, Sangla!” said Zane. “Never have I met such a modest and honest person.” Sangla smiled and said nothing, and just went to gave her a hug. Mikail then came to Zane and gave him a hug. He smiled and said, “Welcome to the family, Zane!” “Thank you for having me!” said Zane. “Glad you’re looking more cheerful this time!” “Oh yeah!” said Mikail. “Just was rough in the last few nights, but now I feel better.”

8:41 PM

Meanwhile, in another part of town, Ronim Feliz was in for a rude awakening. The Teraville Police Department arrived at his house and began to blare their sirens. “What the hell is going on out there?” said Ronim. He went to open the door, but as soon as he touched the door knob, the door burst open. A group of police officers broke in through the front and back doors accompanied with FBI. “FBI! FBI! FBI!” said the agents as they broke through the windows. Ronim was pinned down. “What the hell’s going on?” said Ronim. “I’ve not done anything!” Then, a few seconds later, Inspector Arjun Rathod stepped into the house, with his crew. “Alright everyone!” he said. “Search the entire place, and grab anything you can find. Evidence of any sort: computers, smartphones, doesn’t matter” The policed placed Ronim under arrest. However, Ronim knew that Mikail perhaps sold him out to the cops. “I’ll get you for this, Kanzen!” he muttered silently to himself. “Don’t think you’ll get away with this!”

Zane then held Sangla’s hand and went on his way, to bring his bride home. They kissed again and smiled at one another. Mikail also felt relieved, as he decided to man up and get his enemy behind bars, for the sake of his family and his sister, especially. Steve, Angela, and Kristen decided to go home as it was already 10:00 PM, by the time the function was over. Vice versa for all the guests. Zane then said to himself, “No matter how wide a gap is between a man and his wife, love will always keep them united. Even if they die being distant, fate will put them together in the Afterlife! Amen!” It was indeed the best day of his life, with more to come eventually!
