QUEEN'S POV

I will say today is the happiest day in my life. Wow i just had 400 dollars without doing any work..That is about 2,800 Ghana cedis... Thank God. I gave 800 Ghana cedis to my friend because she also need money to pay her parents hospital bills...Yes both her parents are on dialysis at a teaching hospital.Thats sad.. well hahahaha... I will use the rest to pay Madam Ara the tiles seller,Mr Abel the tyler and the arrears of my siblings school fees.. Awww Mr strange you are God sent..Sorry for how it happened but thank you anyway... She smiled to herself and finally drifted to sleep.The next morning,she was awoken by her alarm clock(Cecilia)she got dressed and got ready for work.They reached the office around 9am and as usual they were late..Queen saw her manager, she quickly hid behind the security post and waited for her to pass.. The security man Mr Sandeep saw her and gave her a smile he really knew what to do. Because he has been doing that for the past year since he got employed in HR marketing firm.He quickly went to her rescue by taking her bag and opening the back gate for her. She quickly rushed towards her office.She entered her office in a rush which made his office mate Kwaku startled..

KWAKU; Hey what happening?

QUEEN; Ermmmm nothing..good morning!

Just then the manager entered.Queen pretended to be taking something from Kwaku's table.

MANAGER; Hello there....

QUEEN AND KWAKU;Hi sir

MANAGER; Queen what time did you come to work today?

QUEEN; Sir please about 45mins ago..SHE LIED

MANAGER; 45mins?he asked checking his time..But Kwaku was she here when I came for the files?

KWAKU;Eerm sir yes and no!he then turned to give Queen the 'have you seen'look..

MANAGER; My friend what do you mean by that?

KWAKU; Sir i meant to say she was at work but was not in the office..She had gone to take plain sheets from the stores..and that was what she was arranging on my table when you entered..

QUEEN; (now seems to have recovered her voice)Yes sir i saw you when you were entering your office..

MANAGER; Errmm ok..anyway Queen please do write a report so far about our achievements since the begining of the year and what still needs to be done regarding our department..I will read through tomorrow at exactly 7:35am before the meeting with our new CEO..

QUEEN; Yes sir she said saluting like a soldier.. the manager shook his head and smiled..Anyway thank you for yesterday we had a good time right?he asked mischievously.. Queen scratched her head and gave a childish smile which really made her look cute..The manager gave the i know you look and wished them a nice day..

QUEEN; Kwaku my love thank you so much....she said putting her hands together infront of him

KWAKU; Oh please till when am i going to cover up for you?What would you have done if you were leaving in a palace..You are never on time..

She scoffed and gave him a wink which got him laughing . Can I love you less Kwaku? Queen said and they laughed out loud

SOME HOURS LATER...

Kwaku; Eii is already 5:15pm.. Time to go home..(turning to Queen)hey Miss Elegant are you not going home now?

QUEEN; (busily typing on the laptop)No have to finish up a project and also type the report for sir..You know am hardworking..

KWAKU; Hardworking? well with that there is no doubt....but hey are you doing over time because you are hardworking or you know you would be late tomorrow?

QUEEN : mtweee i don't know just suit yourself..

He gave her a peg left..

6:15pm

Hey crazy why do i have to get infected with your lateness because am your friend? For crying out loud is almost 6:30pm Ceccy said..Aww gal lets go Queen said switching of the laptop.. They walked beside the road holding their hands and talking about their future. CESSY seriously i wish to see Mr Strange again..damn gal he is hot and handsome.. Queen said dreamily...wow my friend is in love with a stranger..I didn't say i was in love with him am just admiring him..Well sweet do you realise he is the first guy you are admiring..Tell me sweetheart are you crushing on him?Cecilia asked in a serious tone..No am not Queen replied and smiled..hmm well bestie am kind of crushing on him.. On a more serious note how is mum and dad?It was then that Cecilia told Queen that her aunt who is incharge of a sick home around the hospital has come to take her parents there so that they will have medical attention almost everyday..Queen became sad and hurt at the same time..Cessy realising her friend's mood quickly apologise for not informing her before and after..

QUEEN; Ok i will forgive you on one condition...

CESSY;Name it girly

QUEEN;You will have to move to my house until your parents come back..perhaps is better than being in that unkept house alone and hey i will also have my time keeper and alarm with me.. She smiled and dodged the knock just on time..

Ok i think i love your idea to confess i felt scared yesterday sleeping alone..They immediately board a taxi and left to pack Cessy things.

THE NEXT MORNING....AROUND 6:00AM

Wake up!wake up!get ready for work.. Cessy said throwing the pillow at her friend who always sleep naked..Hush i think i made a mistake bringing you here..please let me sleep for just 5mins i beg..Wake up and thank me later..She said and threaten to pour water on her. Queen got up and walked sluggishly to the bathhouse..About 40mins they were at the roadside.. Cessy had no problem being in Queen's house because it was not a new thing.She was like a daughter to them and they love her.. They walked into the office and everyone especially the security man was surprised to see Queen `at that time.. Queen had the 6th sense when it comes to fashion..She in fact has a good taste in fashion making her being admired everyday..She would rock with whatever she get hold of.Even when is not of best quality and some of the ladies also says her body curves is why she is always looking gorgeous..

She walked straight to her office and started arranging her files..The door open and the person retraced his steps about three backwards and open his mouth in amazement.. Queen smiled with the corners of her mouth and ignored the intruder... Kwaku was of course surprise to see his co worker who was also his superior at work that early.. Hey are you for real?No is your great great grandfathers ghost Queen replied and continued working... Are you coming in or you will stand there like a dummy till manager come?Remember you have to submit the files..Queen said whilst laughing.Kwaku immediately went to his seat..He sat there for about 2minutes and shook his head.. Wonders shall never end....I think it will rain cat and dogs today he finally said.Hahaa it will rain lion and tigers Queen said laughing...

About 2hours later....

CESSY; Queen!Queen!Queen! she said barging into her office..(she worked with the customer service department..thus they are the first to see and welcome any visitor..)

QUEEN: OH hey i was about to call you...am i looking ok for the presentation?Queen asked getting up for her friend to access her appearance..

CESSY; There is fire on the mountain..She yelled ignoring her question and rushing towards her desk..

What?Queen asked furrowing her brows..

Sweet we are finished! convicted! destroyed!exterminated! expelled! in fact we are dead!she yelled looking directly at Queen..

Are you ok?drama president thank God Kwaku is not here..He would have asked me to take you to the asylum now..Queen said smiling.

Seriously?Queen i'm serious! We are done for'She said locking eyes with her..

How? Queen asked becoming serious..we came to work early today right..and am done with all manager asked me to do...so what again please?

Dr.Hanson?Queen cut in..

Yes...he's well...

Here so the meeting is about to start right?Queen asked taking her file..

Damn no gal ..He is Mr Strange... Cessy blurted out..

Queen looked at her friend for a second and slowly sank in her chair..

You are joking right? She asked sternly..Never his team and himself just came to our department to greet us..Though he seems not to recognise me i thought it wise to alert you since he might recognise you..

Oh my God!what is all this? She said after 12mins of not talking.. Am i going to be unemployed?eii Jesus what will i tell dad she said and i saw a firm of tears in her eyes..I rushed and gave her a hug.. Don't worry girl be strong!Just then Kwaku entered and the smile on his face vanished when he saw the mood and state of his office mate and superior who has become his adviser and friend..what is it Queen? He asked in a concern tone. Cessy went ahead and explained everything in details to him..Oh my goodness!what a mess!he said slapping his forehead..Ok calm down he finally said i do have an idea..

Tell us!the ladies chorused..Is time to give your report, go there and give your speech like today is your last day here.. Make sure to impress him as well as his team.. Then immediately after the meeting, you meet him in his private room and apologise in tears.. Kwaku explained..Will it work?Queen asked sadly..let us hope and pray..The duo said giving her a hug..
