C13 Are You Shy?
Upon hearing the words, Gu Zhiwei regained her composure and turned to leave.
Half an hour later, at the Beiverlim University auditorium.
The vast auditorium was filled to capacity, with Gu Zhiwei sitting expressionlessly in the front row.
Chen Xixi sat next to her, wringing her hands, "Honestly, I've been longing for a chance with Prince Bo for quite some time. I'm going to seize the opportunity to get his autograph and snap a photo with him later!"
"Heh!" A scornful laugh echoed from behind, "Do you even know who Bo Yandong is? He's Ruoshan's betrothed. You think you can set your sights on him?"
The planned union between the Bo and Gu families was a secret known only to the elite circles of the capital.
"Oh, is that so? Then I might as well claim that Gu Zhiwei is his wife!"
Gu Zhiwei arched an eyebrow, casting an amused glance at Chen Xixi.
No sooner had she spoken than a buzz swept through the crowd in the auditorium.
Bo Yandong made his entrance, flanked by a cadre of bodyguards.
He was the epitome of sophistication in a sharply tailored suit, his long neck and the seductive line of his Adam's apple partially concealed by his shirt collar. His exquisitely handsome face bore an air of cool detachment.
"Is that Bo Yandong? He's incredibly handsome!"
"I've heard he's never dated anyone. It's a mystery which lucky lady will end up with him!"
"Rumor has it the Bo family is considering a marriage alliance with the Gu family. Could it be that Gu Ruoshan will be the one to marry him?"
"A perfect pairing, a match made in heaven – truly enviable."
Gu Ruoshan listened to the whispers, a smug satisfaction evident in her gaze.
She was poised to become Mrs. Bo, the object of the capital's envy.
From that moment on, she would be a cut above the rest.
The stage lights came on, casting a spotlight on the striking figure at center stage.
Gu Zhiwei reclined in her chair with an air of nonchalance, casually lifting her hand to shield her eyes from the glare.
Peering through her fingers, she had a clear view of the man's finely chiseled profile.
Bo Yandong, microphone in hand, turned and swept a glance over the audience, his gaze landing on the woman as she leisurely withdrew her hand, revealing a face of exquisite beauty.
Bo Yandong steadied himself before parting his lips to begin his speech.
Halfway through, Gu Zhiwei found herself nodding off, but the allure of the speaker compelled her to stay awake until the end.
Then came the question-and-answer session.
Gu Zhiwei stood up, her lips curling into a playful smirk. "President Bo, you manage the company so well, surely you're just as skilled in managing relationships? What type of girl do you fancy? Would someone like me catch your eye?"
Her voice took on a teasing lilt at the end, suggestive yet playful.
Gu Ruoshan's expression soured beyond description.
"Enough!" In a fit of exasperation, Gu Ruoshan shot to her feet.
With the crowd looking on in surprise, she quickly composed herself and addressed the host, "I mean, I'm sorry. I believe we're all here to learn, and it's inappropriate to delve into personal matters. Let's move on to the next part of the event, shall we?"
Gu Zhiwei didn't seem the least bit upset by the interruption, as if she had merely posed a trivial question.
The host glanced between Bo Yandong and Gu Zhiwei before dryly proceeding to the next segment.
In the lounge...
Bo Yandong had just settled in when a knock sounded at the door.
"Yandong."
Gu Zhiwei closed the distance between them with deliberate steps.
"Why didn't you answer my question earlier?" she asked, her slender fingers playfully lifting his chin. "Feeling shy, are we?"
"Gu Zhiwei!" Bo Yandong turned his head to avoid her touch, his ears tinged with red. "Ever heard of proper conduct?"
With a scoff, Gu Zhiwei gracefully swung her long, pale legs over and perched on his sturdy thighs, wrapping her arms around his neck.
