C30 Elegant(last part)

Her dutiful grandson had actually married that wild and unrestrained woman?

The news struck the old lady like a thunderbolt, causing her to slump into her chair in disbelief.

"Grandma," Bo Yandong rose to his feet, crouched before her, and took her hand gently. "You've always been concerned about your grandson's marriage. Now that I'm married, just as you wished, you should be happy."

Happy? Far from it!

If the bride had been Gu Ruoshan, she would have been overjoyed.

But now, her preferred granddaughter-in-law had been swapped out for someone else, and it was a miracle she hadn't been angered to death!

The old lady shot him a furious glare. "You got married without breathing a word of it to me. If I hadn't asked today, were you planning to keep this a secret forever?"

Bo Yandong attempted to placate his grandmother, who was clearly upset. "Grandma, I wanted to wait for the right moment to tell you, to surprise you."

A surprise? This was more like a fright!

Chung Shuang's face was stern, her lips pursed so tightly they seemed to reach for the heavens.

What could she do at this point?

Force her beloved grandson to divorce Gu Zhiwei?

She had barely managed to get him to agree to marry in the first place. If he got divorced, what if he refused to marry again?

Gradually, the old lady's expression softened, though her voice still carried a hint of anger. "Find a time to bring her home. I want to meet her."

At three in the afternoon, at Bo's Group.

Gu Zhiwei glanced at her wrist, her slender fingertips clutching a black shopping bag.

"Could you please get in touch with President Bo? He left his clothes at my place, and I've brought them over for him," she said, her voice exuding a mix of nonchalance and detachment.

The receptionist paused for a second, not quite catching her drift.

It took a moment before she finally picked up the phone to connect with the president's office. As soon as the call went through, Lee realized her own folly.

Their president, spending the night at a woman's place? Impossible!

But with the call already made, regret was useless. Lee steeled herself and relayed the message: "President Bo, there's a lady here who says you left your clothes at her place. She's offering to bring them up to you."

There was a two-second silence on the other end of the phone before a man's deep, cool voice came through, "Let her come up."

Lee Lu's eyes widened in shock.

President Bo hadn't denied it?

After hanging up, Lee Lu flashed a grin, showcasing all eight of her teeth, "Miss, President Bo has asked you to come up. His office is on the top floor. You can head straight up."

Gu Zhiwei responded with a polite yet distant, "Thank you."

Lee Lu settled back into her chair, a buzz of excitement coursing through her as she fired up the private gossip chat and began typing furiously on the keyboard.

...

The President's office was on the 56th floor, an entire floor of independent space complete with a suite, fully equipped for Bo Yandong to rest when working late.

Bo Yandong sat in a lounge chair, a computer before him.

His cool gaze meticulously scanned the documents, his expression one of intense focus.

Gu Zhiwei found herself thinking that there's truth in the old saying: A man who is serious about his work is incredibly attractive.

She chose not to interrupt Bo Yandong, instead finding a spot on the sofa. Bathed in the lazy afternoon sunlight, she settled into a comfortable position and closed her eyes.

When Bo Yandong looked up from his work, he was greeted by the serene image of a woman in repose.

The woman on the sofa lay on her side, hands folded beneath her cheek, legs together and gently bent.

The features that straddled the line between girlhood and womanhood had lost their youthful naivety.

Bo Yandong's gaze lingered before he felt a light tap in his chest.

It wasn't painful, but rather a tingling softness, restrained.

He stood, removed his suit jacket, and draped it gently over the woman.

Gu Zhiwei's slumber was light; she stirred awake the moment the jacket settled over her.
