C1 Chapter 1

Vienna got down from the bus and walk to a convenience store nearby, she bought some snacks to eat with a bottle of water and sat down near the store to have them.

She was once a princess who will not eat anything unless it's prepared by the best chef but now she doesn't even have enough money to eat a proper meal in one day.

She can only blame Alan for her misfortunes. If it wasn’t because of him, her life and her family will not be ruined like this.

Three years ago, she was the well known fiancee of the great and wealthy Clinton family. Even though her family wasn’t that rich, but the title of Alan's fiancee commands respect for her anywhere she goes to and their wedding was set to happen until he girl she bought in, Benita ruined everything.

Vienna thought of as her best friend, they met at a club when she was harassed by group of guys and she helped her. After that she told her about being an orphan with no means of help and Vienna decide to take her in and let her live with her in their house.

That was the biggest mistake she ever made as Benita took everything from her, she really loved him but he believed Benita and chose Benita over her.

Alan’s grandfather wish to get him married so as to secure his position and because of the promise between both parties grandfather he decide to get them engaged early.

Vienna has had a crush on Alan since she was ten years old but he did not notice her at all, when she heard about the engagement between the both of them she happily accepted without considering the fact that he did not like her at all and Alan has paid her little or no attention at all. He always ignore her and tell her that he does not acknowledge their relationship but Vienna did not give up.

Then three years ago, while she was still in school she received the news that her father has been arrested and taken to the police station. She quickly left her school and rush over.

Her father was reported for fraud and embezzlement of the company's fund and also manipulation of the company's account Vienna was speechless. Her dad might like money so much but she knows he wouldn’t do such thing.

The case dragged on but they couldn't bail him, all their money and everything was seized She quickly ran to meet with Alan for help because she was sure that just a word from him is enough to clear her father's name.

Vienna first went to his company but he was not there then she went over to his house, his security stop he from entering and sent her out rudely.

She was surprised and taken aback by their actions. She waited for a long time and also tried calling him on the phone but it was unreachable. She waited till night, then she saw him coming out with Benita beside him.

Vienna was both surprised and shocked wondering why Benita of all people is with him and is even allowed to touch him. She walk over to the both of them and try to keep her calm.

"Alan, I've been waiting here for you for a long time now your security won't allow me in" she said looking very tired.

Benita held his hand more tightly and closer and he also reciprocate. She swallow hard and decide not to be bothered by it since she has more important issue to discuss with him.

"Can we talk please? It's urgent" she said again "There is nothing for us to talk about. If you want to talk about your Dad. I know about it. And also don't ever come here again. No matter how shameless you are, you should still have some self respect. Shouldn't you?"

He said in a very mean and annoyed tone. Vienna try to say something but couldn't.

"What does he mean?" She thought.

"Why are you here?" She asked directing the question to Benita.

"Why am I here with my boyfriend and in his house?" She also asked with arrogance written all over her. Vienna felt her body tremble. She suddenly develop a pain in her head and held it.

"Are you sick? What nonsense are you saying?" She asked aggressively finding some strength and turn to Alan

"Alan say something" she screamed and held his hand.

Alan shove her away and Benita push her to the floor as they both walk away after instructing the security guard to throw her out.

Vienna stood up from the floor and dust her clothes. She was devastated and tears start to fall from her eyes. She slowly walk away from there and went back to meet her mother.

When she got there, she was informed that her mother collapsed and has been taken to the hospital. She quickly take a cab and rush to the hospital immediately. She ask the nurse in charge about her mother and was directed her to the right room. She entered the room and saw her mother with her younger sister. She move over to her side and sat beside her then hold her hands.

"Vanessa, what happened?"

"It's all your fault. If not because of your stupid obsession on Alan our family will not be ruined like this" she yelled at her bitterly. Vienna was confused.

"What rubbish are you talking about?" Vanessa move closer to her and use her hand to poke her chest.

"Your dear fiance is responsible for dad's arrest. And not just that, he also blacklist our family from the business world and his company announced that his girlfriend is Benita, that useless girl you bought home" she answered weeping, she never liked Benita and sees her as bad news

Vienna has stunned. She didn't want to believe everything she said but judging by what has happened so far, what she said is not far from the truth. It was so strange that her father was arrested all of a sudden.

He has never allowed her to come closer to him before but today, she saw him holding hands together with Benita. she felt her legs become weak and unable to carry her body, she slowly collapsed and fell on the floor.

"This can't be true" she screamed.
