C8 Chapter 8

Vienna stayed in the hospital all day with her mother and Nisan while Vanessa stayed at home. Although Nisan was very angry that she agreed but since they took the money he had no choice.

On the day for the surgery, they all stayed till the end of the surgery and it was successful. Vanessa and Vienna went back home very late at night to prepare while Nisan stay back to take care of her.

They pack the few things they have and head back to the hospital early in the morning then a car came to pick them up in the hospital around eleven in the morning.

Vanessa decide to go together with her and they arrive at one of Alan’s private house. It was a very reserve place and it is located in a far and hidden place from people. Vienna came down from the car and head in on the driver’s instruction.

They entered with a bag pack each and met Alan with Kellie waiting for them in the living room. If not because Vienna was told about it already she would not have believed that he is actually blind.

His eyes were wide opened like he was staring straight at her. It has been three years since she last saw him but he still look like his magnificent old self. He has an indifferent look on his face and look more handsome. Vienna walk in fully and stood in front of him and Kellie with her sister.

“Miss Vienna, Miss Vanessa, welcome” Kellie greeted politely.

“we have to leave in one hour time and the clothes for you has already been placed in the room. so you need to get ready” she informed. Vienna nod her head and went inside the room with Vanessa.

She came out in fifty minutes putting on the dress she saw on the bed. It was a simple dress but anyone who sees it will know it an expensive one. Vanessa also came out with her and Alan stood up and went out of the house with Kellie.

Vienna followed them. They got in the another car and drove off. Vienna took a glare at Alan and quickly avert her eyes. Ever since she entered he hasn’t said a word. Vienna wonder if its because he is blind and cant see her or he just chose to ignore her.

“did he dislike me that much? Then why did he still want me to pretend with him” Vienna thought and face the other side of the car. They soon arrive at a very big house and Kellie opened the door for them. Then she stood behind.

“are you not coming with us?” Vienna asked.

“no Miss, you will have to go together from here. Not everyone can go in there” she answered.

Alan start to walk towards the door with his stick and Vienna followed him. She wonder if she should hold him or not but decide against it. She remember how he has always hated her touching him.

They both walk slowly because of Alan and the servant at the door opened it for them. They entered the house and Alan stopped as one of his uncle approach them.

“Alan, its been a while. How have you been? Who is this beside you? Did you bring your personal assistant inside? You know that’s not allowed don’t you?” he asked continuously.

“uncle Sanchez” Alan simply said.

“incredible you recognize my voice. Impressive” he said laughing as he pat him on the shoulders lightly. Alan move backward from him and turn to walk away.

They walk further in and Vienna saw quite a number of people. She continue to look around and wonder who they all are. She thought she will be meeting with just his parent, sister and grandfather but it appears not.

“lets go sit down” Alan said. Vienna was not focusing on him so she didn’t hear him at first so he has to repeat his words.

“okay” she answered and walk forward then she turn to see Alan struggling with walking with her. She went back to him and link her hands with him.

Alan was startled when he felt her touch and wanted to separate their hands but Vienna already pull him with her.

They sat down on one of the chairs in the room and someone came to serve them some drinks. Vienna thank him and drank a mouthful from her drink while Alan refuse to touch his.

Vienna study the house well and was amazed by the structure. She knows that the Clinton are very wealthy but she does not know to what extent. Just looking at this house it must cost a fortune, Maybe a lot of billions.

She shake her head as she think about it. Then she saw Karen enter from the corner of her eyes with Benita. She swallow hard on her drink and drop it back on the table feeling nervous but Just then, Alan’s grandfather came out and everyone start going towards another room. Alan also stand up.

“what are you waiting for?” he said to her and Vienna quickly stood and they followed the rest. They entered a room with a long table and chairs and everyone took a seat.

Vienna was wondering where to seat when Alan’s mother came to him and took him to the seat next to grandfather’s own. She also followed and sat down beside him.

Everyone start murmuring as they wonder who she is. Karen and Benita were shocked to see her but they quickly hide the shock in their face and look at each other questioningly. Grandfather cleared his throat noisily and everyone keep quiet.

“am sure you are wondering why we are gathered here and some of us must have guessed the reason why. This is Vienna, Alan’s fiancee” he said and the noise start again.

“if anyone has anything to say then let me finish. Alan is the patriarch but since there is a small issue with his health then his fiancee will take over and Karen will be relieve of his temporary duties from today” he told them.

“why is that? We all know that since Karen took over, he has been doing great and also where did a fiancee come from? We all know Alan doesn't have any fiancee beside Vienna and he already break it off with her or are you trying to use a fake one just like Benita” Sanchez, Alan’s uncle said.

“i agree with my brother. There is no need to do any of this, just let Karen take care of things till he gets back his sight” a woman in the room also said.

“why don’t you ask for the power to be shift to him entirely? Is that not what you all want” Alan’s mother chip in.

“am not asking for your opinions, am informing you all about it and for those who doesn't know. This is Vienna, Alan’s fiancee and not a fake also I will never let you have it your way. Karen is not even an option on this and you all know it. Alan is the only one who is rightful for this and since he has a fiancee now then there is no need for a substitute” he said again. Everyone keep quiet but it is written all over their faces that they don’t want it like that.

“but what does a woman knows about these things. Miss Vienna has been out since three years ago and also her father is a criminal, so why should we let someone like that take over” another in the room said.

“that’s none of everyone’s business. Are you all afraid that you wont be able to continue doing as you like with the company’s money just like the last three months?” Alan spoke for the first time and everyone stop talking with no one daring to argue again.

“Grandfather, Alan and everyone there is no need to argue and grandfather is correct. I will hand over everything tomorrow” Karen said politely.

“then it is settled and I don’t want to hear any rumour flying around tomorrow. Let lunch be served now”grandfather said again. The maids bought in all the dishes and served everyone. Then they all start to eat.

“Vienna, right? I heard you broke off the engagement long ago. Why are you back now?” Rose the woman who spoke before asked. Vienna looked up from her food without knowing what to say.

“do you know that you also have a right to become powerful just like Alan?” she asked again. Vienna nod yes with her head.

“no wonder, you must be back because of that otherwise no woman in her right sense will want to get married to a blind man” she continued.

“enough aunt, you’ve said enough. Am sure you don’t want to be thrown out do you?” Alan roared. Rose keep shut and left the remaining words hanging in her throat. Although he is blind but she knows very well not to annoy him

“am sure aunt is just worried about Vienna, she sure doesn't mean it like that” Benita said after the awkward silent.

“so Vienna, when are you getting married to Mr Alan?” she asked.

"Mr Alan?" Vienna said surprised. She even refer to him like that. She thought surprised. She has really missed on a lot of things.

“i will leave first” Alan said after eating little from his food. Then he held Vienna for them to leave together.

“wait in the other room. I still have something to discuss with the both of you” grandfather said before they leave. Vienna was unhappy as Alan drag her with him. She was still hungry and has not even eaten half of her food.
