C6 Chapter 6

Chapter Six: A Renewed Drive (Retribution)

Years ago, when I first joined the cartel, it was known as the formidable "La Murete cartel," a name that embodied death itself. As new recruits, we were obligated to absorb ten fundamental laws that served as our guiding principles in running the syndicate.

1.Maintain close proximity to friends while keeping enemies even closer.

2. Exercise discernment in selecting customers.

3.Exercise discernment in selecting employees.

4.Eliminate competition.

5.Refine and perfect your operational processes.

6.Embrace audacity.

7.Acquire comprehensive knowledge of your product.

8.Demonstrate unwavering loyalty.

9.Courageously take calculated risks for substantial rewards.

10.Never bring a knife to a gunfight.

Though these laws appeared deceptively simple, adhering to them demanded immense courage and effort. I knew that if I desired to bring down Vandel once and for all, I needed an indomitable will and a well-crafted strategy; otherwise, I would be digging my own grave.

First and foremost, I needed to gather information on Vandel's activities in recent years. However, I couldn't simply approach individuals and inquire about him, as that would only invite trouble upon myself. I had to find an insider within Vandel's organization who possessed the desired information and would be willing to cooperate.

I reached out to my contact, a former military intelligence officer named Mike, to seek his help . Mike has a wide network of contacts and knows the local underground arms dealers.

After explaining the situation to Mike, I emphasizes the importance of finding reliable information about the ongoing drug activities in El Pa so that he can identify potential threats. Mike understands the gravity of the situation and agrees to assist me.

Under Mike's guidance, I discreetly tracks down the target and approaches him cautiously. I carefully notes down the information we needed to break down Vandel's cartel.

With the current news about the drug activities in El Pa so, i had a better understanding of the situation. We can use this information to strategize their next moves and work towards dismantling Vandel's drug empire once and for all.

After pondering for some time, a name resurfaced in my memory—Fabio De Akhursta. He was renowned as one of the most cunning and manipulative members of the cartel. Moreover, his insatiable greed and disloyalty were widely known. Back in the day, he held the responsibility of drug distribution, always managing to siphon off a portion of the profits for himself. Money was his sole allegiance, and he wouldn't hesitate to betray even those he considered family if it meant financial gain. Finding him became my top priority.

Rising from the couch where I had been seated, I retrieved my car keys from the table, entered my vehicle, and embarked on a journey to "La Faena Cantinas." This establishment, located in El Paso, was renowned for its exquisite cocktails and exceptional service. If my memory served me right, Fabio was among the frequent patrons of this establishment.

After a half-hour drive, I arrived at the bustling bar. Finding a suitable parking spot, I made my way inside. The place was teeming with people, the atmosphere alive with vibrant music, singing, dancing, drinking, and various forms of entertainment such as board games and betting.

Making my way to the front bar, I approached the bartender, attempting to capture her attention. "Good day, madam," I greeted, aiming to engage her in conversation.

"Welcome to La Faena Cantinas. How may I assist you with our services?" she responded, offering a flirtatious smile.

"Um... no, I'm not here for those services. In fact, I came today with the hope of finding someone," I replied.

"Oh, is that so? And who might you be searching for?" she inquired, her gaze tinged with suspicion.

"Fabio De Akhursta," I replied.

"Fabio De Akhursta... Yes, I remember him. He's one of our loyal customers. But why exactly are you looking for him?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

"I have some important matters I need to discuss with him, that's all," I responded, hoping to convince her.

"I'm sorry, sir, but I cannot assist you. We are not permitted to disclose any information about our clients to anyone. Have a pleasant day," she stated, turning to leave.

"Wait... perhaps this will persuade you to share," I said, placing some money on the bar counter. She swiftly pocketed the money, concealing it within her purse.

"Well, there isn't much I can disclose, but word has it that he's involved in some rather dubious dealings. He frequents this bar every other day, indulging in excessive drinking and revelry. If you're fortunate, he might just show up today," she divulged.

"Do you happen to know where he resides?" I inquired.

"Excuse me, sir, but this is a bar, not a cleaning agency. I am not privy to the residential addresses of our clients," she retorted sarcastically.

"Very well then. Thank you for the information, and I trust our conversation will remain confidential," I said.

"Fret not, handsome. Your secret is safe with me," she assured, winking before returning to her duties.

Leaving the bar area, I found a table to occupy, hoping that Fabio would make an appearance. I ordered a bottle of Estrella Jasico and continued to wait. After four long hours, Fabio finally arrived, accompanied by three other men.

They settled at a high table, ordering rounds of beer. Hours passed as they drowned themselves in alcohol until they were thoroughly intoxicated. As evening descended, Fabio struggled to stand on his own, swaying back and forth due to his excessive indulgence. He stumbled out of the bar, and I discreetly followed.

He hailed a taxi, and I swiftly entered my car, tailing behind. We eventually arrived at his residence, and after he exited the taxi, I silently approached and unlocked the door to his abode. Inside, he lay sprawled across his couch, deep in slumber. Realizing that extracting information in his current state would be futile, I decided to allow him to sober up before proceeding with my inquiries. Quietly, I left his house, returned to my car, and drove back home.
