C5 Chapter 4: The Heat Of Jealousy

"Ugh! What the hell just happened?!"

I woke up holding my head because of the sharp pain. I don't have any memories last night until I saw Kotori's cold eyes piercing my soul. That's when I realized...

"You're really hopeless you know that?!" she hissed.

"I didn't even know you were in there! You could've at least gave me a chance to explain first before punching me out cold!" I argued.

"Well, you could've at least knocked first before going in!" She argued back.

"I thought you were sleeping!"

"I was inside the bathroom! Didn't you see the light?! Ugh, come and get up already I made some breakfast for us!"

"I was tired from work! I'm not myself last night, and it's not like I saw your pink striped panty anyway!"

An awkward silence fell between us. I gulped down a lump in my throat when the atmosphere inside my room changed.

Kotori clenched her two fists, her face turns bright red as she gritted her teeth. She slowly walks towards me with her eyes screaming bloody murder.

"K-Kotori? Look? We can talk about this." I stuttered.

"Must... Kill... A pervert." She keeps mumbling the words repeatedly.

Without warning, she pounced me and I felt her hands squeezing my trachea.

"Urgh! I-I'm sorry!"

"Die!!!"

I struggle underneath her and tried to wiggle out but she was too strong, she was a supernatural being after all. But with the use of my manly strength, I've turned the tables around and pinned her to my bed. That's when we locked eyes to eyes together and both of our face heats up.

I can feel the heavy tension lingering on the air, and her breathing makes it heavier. Suddenly, I felt butterflies in my tummy as I stared into her beautiful red eyes while our bodies are press against each other.

"Can you get off?" She softly demanded as she looks away with face red as a tomato.

"O-Oh yeah, yeah! I'm sorry!" I quickly stood up from my bed releasing her. My face is redder than her.

She also stood up and walk right pass me without saying a word. She opened the door, but stopped and glanced at me. Her mouth opened to try to say something but no words came out, so she just walks out of my room leaving me with this awkward silence.

"You screwed up now me!" I facepalmed and shook my head slowly. I just wanna buried myself alive and never come out of my grave.

I sighed and changed my clothes before going downstairs. When I arrived at the kitchen door, I saw Kotori sitting on the couch and staring into the nothingness.

Despite the awkwardness, I mustered up the courage to sat besides her after the stunt I did earlier.

"So?" I spoke to try to break the ice.

She immediately scooched away from me, hugging the large couch pillow trying to hide her red face while she glared at me for a quick seconds and quickly turning away from me.

Her eyes suddenly glimmered as the jar of lollipops caught her attention. She immediately grabbed the jar and took one lollipop. As she was about to take the peel off, I quickly snatched it from her hand.

"Hey! Give it back!" she exclaimed.

"Ah, ah, ah... Didn't you forget our deal?" I look at her unamused.

She groans out in annoyance and just nodded.

"Yeah, I remember. Ugh! You are so annoying!"

Kotori rolled her eyes and she stood up from the couch and went to the dining room. She sat down on the chair while pouting like a kid.

"Good, no sweets before meal." I chuckled and sat on the chair in the opposite side of the table.

"Oh, come on! Don't be like that you'll lose your cuteness if you keep doing that." I tease her.

"Stop being so annoying!" She crosses her arms.

"I'm just lightening up the mood so we could enjoy our time together without getting too serious. Hey, maybe we can go out to town later after I get home?" I chuckled.

I noticed her eyes lit up but she tries to hide it.

"B-But you'll be home in the evening." She said.

"No worries, tomorrow is my rest day. And there's fireworks by the park tonight." I answered.

I pick up my chopsticks and told her. "Let us eat our breakfast before it gets cold. Itadakimasu!"

Both of us dig in, my eyes shot wide open when the flavor of the food touches my taste bud.

"Wow Kotori! You'll make a great wife!" I compliment her while munching happily.

"Wha- *cough! *"

Her food got stuck in her throat from my sudden statement.

"Don't eat too fast." I worried.

She gulped down a glass of water and sighed.

"I-I'm fine, don't worry." She said sheepishly while blushing heavily.

After eating our breakfast, I lend Kotori a hand to clean up the dining table and do the dishes. I never thought it would be easier when you have someone with you.

"So Riku? Where are we going first later?" She suddenly spoke up while washing the dishes.

"I've been thinking? We should go to a restaurant first to have some lunch, and after that let's do a quick tour by the town. The fireworks will not start until midnight." I answered while cleaning the table.

She seems excited when I told her my plans. So, she pick up the pace cleaning the kitchen. She rushes all around the place after cleaning the dishes.

After cleaning the house, both of us went upstairs to get some clean clothes. I got some fresh clothes ready so I left my room and went downstairs to the bathroom to get ready for another working day. When I arrived at the door, I carefully knocked on the wooden surface making sure no one is inside.

"I'm not falling for that again." I said to myself.

Many hours later~

"No customers? Well it's almost evening, I can't wait to get home."

I looked out of the window and see people walking by the side walk, cars are driving, and birds are flying. Everyone are just doing whatever the hell they're doing in their life.

Suddenly, I saw a familiar girl wearing all black in color and has a blonde hair.

"My whore ex? Who else is gonna ruin my mood."

She pushed the door of the store open and waved at me. "Hi Riku!"

"Oh Riya, it's you!" I pretended to be surprised. "How are you doing?

"I'm fine, I'm almost graduating college. How cool is that?!" She spoke out excitingly.

"Very cool, very cool." I replied. "So, what brings you hear?"

She pulled out a flyer and on the picture it looks like an amusement.

"I was thinking about inviting you here, just the two of us." She said sheepishly.

Upon seeing the flyer that looks like the amusement park that the goverment planned to build this past couple of years. It should've been one of the biggest amusement park in the world rivaling Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Kotori would love it there, I should invite her and introduce her to one of my friend.

"I would love to go. Is it okay that I invite one friend?" I asked her.

Her face changed mood and she spoke in a sarcastic tone. "Her? Who's her?"

"Oh her name is Kotori, we've been planning to venture out to town later cuz she's new here." I said without hesitation.

I can tell she's starting to get annoyed. I'm thinking I should stop here, but if I don't she'll keep annoying me everyday.

"Never thought you found someone better, good for you." She said with a stern tone.

"She's just a friend Riya. And if I found someone better, why do you care? You did cheated on me with my cousin?" I shot at her coldly.

I turned away from her and look out the window again and I saw a familiar girl with red hair holding a bento box. I was happy to see her wearing the white ribbon that I've bought for her yesterday and also the miniskirt and long sleeve white uniform with a teddy bear logo on the chest pocket.

"Kotori? How did she get here?" I suddenly muttered which Riya heard.

"Koto what?" Riya glanced where my eyes are looking and she also saw Kotori. She smiled sadistically.

"Hey Riku~" She spoke all of the sudden with a playful tone.

The door on the shop opened and Kotori steps in. "Riku I brought you your... ?!"

After Kotori steps in, I felt two hands hold each side of my face tightly. Without any warnings, Riya brought her face close to mine and I could feel our lips pressing into each other. I immediately pushed her and she stumbled, making her sat on the floor looking at me with a satisfied grinned on her face while she licks her lips.

I glared at her and quickly glanced at the door from where Kotori is standing from. All I see was the opened bento box and all the food inside it are scattered all over the floor.

Kotori's POV:

"Why the hell am I running?!"

"Why is my tears falling?!"

"Why am I feeling like this?! Why am I felt betrayed?!"

I kept running and running to who knows where. People that are in front of me are looking at me weirdly and some of them looking at all worried, however I don't care.

I kept running and ended up in a forest that is unfamiliar for me, I also don't care. I just wanna let this sharp pain in my chest to go away, I just want peace.

With the tears blurring my vision, my left foot got caught by a massive root that is sticking out of the ground and stumbled hard face first on the forest floor. My face and knee got wounded, however it quickly heals up thanks to the purple fire that are engulfing them.

I stood up while gritting my teeth and clenching my fist before...

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!"

I roared out and quickly got engulfed with fire as the clothes Riku gave me turned into a Kimono dress while white two horns sprouted on my head. The grasses and trees around me got engulfed with fire and slowly burns away.

"KOTORI!!!"

I heard Riku's voice.

Then I realized I transformed into my spirit form. I can't let Riku see me like this and I can let him get close to me it's too dangerous.

Suddenly, Riku appeared by the trees of this forest.

"Jesus, is this real?" He stammered.

I see the look of disbelief on his face.

"Riku go away!" I cried out.

"N-No I won't! Kotori let us talk please?!" Riku desperately said.

"I'm sorry you got to witness that earlier. I'm so so sorry." He apologized with a calming tone and slowly approached me.

As he took one step, one of his knee buckled from the pain as my aura slowly burns his skin.

"Riku stop! We can talk later okay?! I-I just need some time alone!" I begged.

"This the best time to talk, because I know I hurt you!" He cries out.

He started to crawl towards me and my burning aura just keeps getting stronger.

"Kotori, tell me what am I to you?!" He yelled out taking me aback from the sudden question.

"W-What?! I?!" My mind suddenly went blank and cheeks flushed slightly.

"I said what am I to you?!" Riku repeated and using his leftover strength, he quickly stood up and run towards and wrap his arms around me.

His warm hug is different from the warmth of my fire. The warmth that I'm feeling while he holds me is making my heart skip a beat.

"Kotori?!"

"Alright! Alright! I love you... I love you Riku." I cried out.

Without any warnings, Riku suddenly planted his lips on mine. I was shocked but quickly succumbed to the feeling. The fire that is engulfing the grasses and trees died down and I could feel the cold wind brushing on my naked skin as my kimono slowly faded into glitters of light.

Riku broke the kiss and said in a warm tone. "I love you too Kotori."

I lay my head on his chest and one tear slowly fall from my eyes. My arms wraps around him tightly, not letting him go.

I heard him spoke. "Let's go home and get you dressed up before anyone see you."

I replied. "There's no people around here, can we just stay here a little longer? And Riku, please hold me tightly and don't let me go?"

"I won't."
