C4 The Clumsy Secretary
When Emily stepped out of the restaurant, Ethan felt his heavy breathing. He rubbed his face roughly, trying to overcome the disappointment that had set in. With hasty steps, he exited the restaurant, hoping to catch up with Emily before it was too late.
However, once he was outside, Emily was no longer there. Without hesitation, Ethan strode along the streets, his eyes constantly searching for the figure that was so familiar to him. After a while, he finally saw someone who looked like Emily from a distance.
However, he was surprised when he saw a man hugging Emily tightly. From his vantage point, they looked so close, and Ethan felt like they were hugging. Anger burned in his heart after getting betrayed by his girlfriend.
"So, because of this guy, you broke up with me?" Ethan hissed in disappointment.
Emily's consciousness instantly returned. Her heart was racing, and she was startled to realize that the hand of her boss, Daniel, was holding her waist from falling. Her face turned red, and she quickly disengaged herself from Daniel's embrace.
Ethan's footsteps approached, and his voice was accusatory. "Who is this man? Is he the one who made you turn away and choose to break up with me?"
Emily, who was still trying to correct the position of her glasses, bowed her head respectfully to Daniel, ignoring Ethan, who was there. Her voice trembled as she explained, "I'm sorry, sir. Are you hurt? I was not focused, so I accidentally bumped into you. Again, please forgive me, sir."
Then she looked at Daniel's wet-looking suit, and a worried expression appeared on her face. "Oh, my! Your suit is wet, sir. I..." Emily's speech stopped when Daniel's palm stopped her from speaking further.
Ethan did not understand the situation before him now. Hadn't they just hugged earlier? Or was he just misunderstood?
Daniel massaged the middle of his furrowed brow. The weight in his head felt heavy with the problems that happened to him tonight. Her cold voice sounded, "Just solve your problems, don't mind me."
Daniel immediately brought his footsteps into the car that was close to the convenience store, with his personal driver opening the door to let him in. Emily covered her face with both hands, embarrassed at the thought of what had just happened.
"Who is he?" asked Ethan, still trying to find clarity.
Emily's eyes immediately flashed cynicism as she stared at Ethan. "He's my boss. How could you accuse him like that? Ahh, how embarrassing?"
"I'm sorry, Emily, I just feel betrayed by you because you looked like you were cuddling intimately with that guy," Ethan said in a regretful voice.
"I almost fell when I collided with my boss, and he just helped me," Emily replied with an annoyed look on her face.
"Why are you angry? I thought you didn't love me," Emily replied sarcastically.
"Em," Ethan called with a serious look on his face, making Emily turn to him.
"Can you rethink your decision to break up with me? Please give me one more chance," Ethan said, making Emily's heart melt a little.
Before Emily answered, Ethan replied again. "We've been dating for a long time. What if people or our parents find out about our failed relationship? What should we answer?"
A moment later, Emily laughed at her stupidity for thinking she wanted to give Ethan a chance to start their relationship again.
"Why are you laughing, Em? I'm serious," Ethan said.
"I was thinking you'd want a chance to make amends because you really love me, but it turns out..." Emily couldn't go on anymore, with tears already flooding her cheeks.
"You're such a jerk, Et. Never look for me again, we're breaking up," Emily said and left Ethan just like that.
"Em, Em," Ethan tried to catch up with Emily, but there was a taxi in front of Emily, and she got into the taxi, leaving Ethan behind.
On the way home, Emily sat in the car with a broken heart. Tears kept flowing from her eyes relentlessly. She felt hurt and disappointed by what had happened. Every second, the pain deepened, and she couldn't stop her crying.
Emily tried to wipe away the tears running down her cheeks, but they kept coming. She felt trapped in the past, where the warmth and happiness they once felt together. But now, everything had turned into shattered rubble.

Today was a day filled with anxiety for Emily. She was going on a business trip with her boss, Daniel, but her heart was still hurting from her problems with Ethan. All night, she wrestled with thoughts that wouldn't go away, making it difficult for her to sleep. When morning came, she was already setting up in the living room of her house, awaiting Daniel's arrival to pick her up.
A worried look crossed Fred's face as he saw his daughter's condition. "What happened to you, Em?" asked Fred in a worried tone.
Emily tried to fake a smile, trying to hide her broken feelings. "I'm fine, Dad," she replied in a trembling voice.
However, Fred saw through Emily's fake smile. He saw Emily's eyes that were swollen from her crying last night. "Your eyes are swollen, Em. What happened?" asked Fred with concern.
"I broke up with Ethan, Dad," Emily finally revealed in a voice filled with emotional baggage.
Fred was silent for a moment, digesting the news he had just heard. He could see how heartbroken Emily was. Silently, he tried to find the right words to comfort his daughter.
"I'm sorry, Dad. I can't continue my relationship with Ethan anymore," Emily added in a voice filled with regret.
Fred walked over to Emily and sat next to her. He placed his hand gently on Emily's shoulder, giving her the support she needed. "Em, I know how difficult this decision has been for you. I want you to know that I'm always here for you, supporting you in every decision you make."
Tears came to Emily's eyes as she felt Fred's support and true love. She felt relieved to share her feelings with someone she trusted so much.
Fred looked at Emily with confidence. "Em, you are my wonderful daughter with a true heart. True love will come to you when you least expect it. Don't let the failure of one relationship prevent you from finding true happiness."
Emily sighed and tried to brace herself. "Dad, thank you for your support," Emily said sincerely.
Fred smiled proudly at his daughter. "I know you're strong, dear. Believe in yourself and never stop looking for your happiness. I'm always here for you."
Emily felt the warmth in Fred's words. Although her feelings were still mixed, she felt a little stronger and ready to face the day. "Thanks, Dad," she said as she hugged Fred so tightly.
Not long after that, a black car arrived in front of Emily's house with the sound of the engine stopping. Daniel, her boss, was never late, and this time was no exception. Emily's heart suddenly beat so fast when she saw her boss's car in front of their house.
"Dad, my boss is here. I'll go first," Emily said as she waved her hand at Fred in a hurry.
"Be careful. Let me know when you get there," Fred said anxiously, trying to keep his daughter's attention.
"Okay, Dad. Don't worry," Emily replied with a smile that tried to calm Fred's heart.
"Slow down, you'll fall down," said Fred, who was eager to see his daughter in such a hurry. Emily hurried out of her house with the help of Fred, who pulled her heavy suitcase.
"Thanks, Dad," Emily said with a smile.
However, in her haste to get to the car, Emily's steps were blocked by a rock hidden in front of her, and she fell hard.
"Ouch!" Emily hissed as she held her leg, that was bleeding from her carelessness.
Fred immediately ran over to Emily and helped her up. "I told you to take it easy. Your leg is bleeding, Em. You'd better get it treated inside first," Fred said with obvious concern on his face.
Daniel opened the window of his car, showing his anxiety and impatience. "Hurry, Em. We'll be late," he said in a hurried voice, showing that he wanted to get on the road as soon as possible.
"Are you Emily's boss?" asked Fred as he approached Daniel's car, trying to recognize the person who would watch over his daughter during this trip.
"Yes, I am," Daniel replied nonchalantly and got out of his car, showing little indifference to Fred's concerns.
"Hello, I'm Fred. Emily is my daughter. Please take care of my daughter while you're there, okay? My daughter is clumsy. I hope you'll understand," Fred said in a polite tone, trying to give a warning and a request in a polite manner.
Emily, sensing Fred's concern, couldn't resist teasing him with a little whisper in his ear. "That day, you said you'd spank him for me. Why is Dad being so polite to my boss now?" Emily whispered in Fred's ear.
Fred tapped Emily gently on the shoulder to stop her from talking for fear of being caught by Daniel.
"I apologize if I'm being too presumptuous in asking this. Are you two going out alone?" Fred asked Daniel cautiously.
