C12 Twelve

Never in a million years would I have believed Alex would accuse me of infidelity, I was so shocked that I couldn't even think of the reply to give him.

He dared to accuse me of infidelity when he was the one that announced his engagement with another woman, he called his own children another man's children, I sincerely didn't expect Alex to say that to me.

A lot of people said things to me when I came back home pregnant but that never hurt me this much, Alex didn't say much but then he broke me, he shattered the rest of my heart. Now he has to deal with it, I won't tell him about our children, I don't care if he thinks they are another man's children, I decided I am not giving him any explanation.

I came here to work and that is what I am going to do, I can't quit now because of the document I signed, so till I can quit the job I'm just going to work and ignore Alex, I talked to Tony and he showed me my office and everything else I'd be needing.

I was with him through the meetings handing him documents and holding on to documents for him, I was standing through the meetings so when the sales department's presentation ended I was thankful.

"You have an hour free, then you have a 30 minutes long lunch meeting with the CEO of Tom and Sons, they want to talk about their interest in the new mining project, after the lunch meeting, you'd have to meet with the planning department they also have a new proposal." I said walking closely behind him

"Okay."

"If there is nothing else, I'd be heading to my office, I'd be in your office in exactly 50 minutes." I said stopping in front of my office

"Actually Miss Jones there is something I need you to do, get the list of all of our clients and arrange them in alphabetical order." He said so formal that I was convinced I don't know this man in front of me from no where.

"You need it now?"

"Yes, and I'd need you to arrange them in my office, get your laptop from Tony." He said

"He left everything in my office earlier."

"Grab it and come to my office then." He said entering his office

I grabbed the laptop and knocked on his door

"Come in."

I entered and he gestured to the chair in front of his table and I took that as my cue to sit.

I searched for the list of clients and I was shocked at how many client the company has, it is a new company, I was not expecting it to do that well,it would take over a day to arrange the names alphabetically, so I started working on it as fast as I could.

I worked on it until the wrist watch I was given by Tony earlier beeped to signify that the lunch meeting would be starting soon.

"Sir, your lunch meeting is starting in 10 minutes." I said and he nodded removing the glasses I didn't notice he had on.

"Let's go then." He said standing up, he left the office while I followed closely behind.

We went from one meeting to another, by the time we finished the last meeting I was really exhausted, my legs hurt like crazy and I had a terrible headache, I signed out by exactly 4:00pm.

When I got to the parking lot, my car refused to start, I was already too exhausted to start checking to see what is wrong, I couldn't call my parents or my siblings either because there is a high chance of them seeing Alex, there was only one person I was close enough to call and that was Martin.

I called and he picked after the third ring.

"Hello Tracy."

"Martin, I need your help."

"With what?, Are you okay?, Are the kids okay?"

"I'm fine Martin, the kids are fine too, can you pick me up at work? My car broke down" I said praying he won't say no

"Sure, just send me your location." He replied and I thanked him. I shared my location with him.

Martin picked me up and drove to my parent's, I thanked him and I went upstairs after he promised to find someone to fix my car, I told him not to worry about it but he insisted then drove off leaving me no chance to say no.

I went inside but I didn't take the twins home immediately, my mum insisted we stayed for dinner and I was really thankful she insisted.

"So how was work?" My mum asked when we were halfway through dinner.

"Fine thank you." I replied hoping she doesn't read much to my expression, because then she'd notice something is wrong and she'd ask questions

"You look exhausted." My dad said and I nodded

"It's my first day at work, it is expected."I replied and they nodded.

"The kids learned how to play scrabbles today." My dad said and I beamed

"Yes mum I won." Michelle said and Michael rolled his eyes

"Just by two Michelle." He said

"I won anyways."

"I'm winning next time, you can place a bet on it."

"Okay now both of you stop it and finish your dinner or they would be no dessert for you." My mum said, they didn't want to lose their desserts so they kept quiet.

After dessert I asked my parents to let me use one of their cars and they permitted me, I took the children home gave them a thorough bath then I tucked them in, they must have been exhausted because they fell asleep after I read a chapter of their favourite bedtime story.

I dragged myself to my room too and laid on my bed, I thought I was going to cry myself to sleep, surprisingly I didn't cry, all I wanted to do was sleep, it was like nothing ever happened.

I thought about everything that happened earlier and I decided there is nothing to change, I am not planning on telling him about my children, it is easier that he thinks they are someone else's child, so I made peace with my decision and I fell into a deep well deserved sleep.
