C18 Prove It That You Know About Love

Reality

"That was when it started. I tried my best to avoid him but I couldn't."Charlotte said.

"You mean you fell in love with him?" Riele asked in disbelief.

Charlotte bowed her head in shame, "I never intended to."

"So, how did the pregnancy happen?" Jay asked.

"It was on his birthday. Riele didn't want to go and I didn't want to either but Mr. Owen told me I had to be there."

~~~Flashback~~~

"I can't go, Mr. Owen," Riele said but before I could say anything, Mr. Owen turned to me and said.

"You are going, Charlotte and we ain't debating on this. Someone has to go and if Riele doesn't want to because of how much she hates him which of course I'd suggest she shouldn't, you have to go."

"BUT..."

"No buts. You are going and that's finally," and he left.

"Let me know if you need help kicking his ass," Riele said almost smiling.

"Come on, Riele, let's go together." I pleaded but Riele refused.

"I wish it didn't have to be Kim Utter, I'd have come along." She touched my shoulders to give me courage but I needed her I could avoid him and now, I can't imagine what's going to happen with how my heart beats fast when he's around. "Just let me know when you need my help." she showed me her clenched fist. "I will be there."

I smiled a bit because I knew what that clenched fist meant. "Thank you," I told her and got ready for the party.

Riele escorted me over to his house and we could hear loud music playing inside the house already. "Sounds like the party has started already."

I looked around and nodded. I turned to face her and gave her my puppy look eyes hoping it would work on her 'cos it always does but she shook her head and smiled, "That's not going to work on me this time honey." she said and I gave up trying to convince her. "I will see you tomorrow?"

"If I am not high, then yes." we hugged each other and bade one another goodbye.

"Let me watch you leave," she told me with her arms folded across her chest.

"This would have been romantic if you were a guy," I told her and she laughed.

"Just get going already."

I bade her goodbye before walking into the house.

The smell of smokes from cigarettes and alcohol invaded my nostrils and almost made me suffocate. I looked around for a safe place to stay when I saw a hand gesturing for me to come and when I looked closely, it was Kim. I pretended not to notice him and continue searching the room for a safe corner when a hand pulled me by my waist and I found myself wrapped around his grip.

"Pretending not to notice me?" he asked and I smiled nervously.

"Of course not. I just didn't see you." I lied which he noticed.

"I see. Come sit over here, it's a lot safer than just standing here and you are too hot for any guy to come to you and try to..."

"Try to?" I asked.

"I will keep that to myself," and he pulled me over to his seat.

The party was quite enjoyable. It was cool and funny too. I was glad there was no truth or dare game. Everyone was interacting and I caught Kim staring at me most of the time. I also noticed he was drinking too much alcohol. I wished I could stop him but I didn't care besides, this was his house.

People started leaving one after the other until it was left with just me and him. I decided to help clean up the house a bit before leaving just to thank him for a fun time. After I was done cleaning and was about to leave, he stopped me.

"Don't go," were the words he repeatedly said to me.

"I have to go, Kim." I tried to pull my hand from him but instead, he pulled me inside and shut the door and the next thing I knew was his lips on mine.

I tried to get him over him but the more I tried pulling away, the deeper the kiss went. He looked up at me and said, "Stop fighting, I know you want this too."

I tried to speak but his lips covered mine again. I wanted so badly to ignore the feelings but I couldn't give up the fact that my heart desires more of his touch and kisses. I gave in and returned his kisses in the same motion and passion.

A soft moan escaped my mouth and I could swear he smirked. "Nice to see you finally giving in."

"I..."

"Should we take this to the room?" he asked. I was about to refuse but he carried me up and took me to his room.

"That was how it happened," Charlotte explained.

Riele bowed her head in disappointment. "I didn't imagine it like this. I thought both of you were drunk but you were in your right senses and you still allowed..."

"Stop making it sound like it's a bad thing to fall in love." Chae Woon said and Riele looked up at him.

"What do you know about love?" she asked him.

"Riele..." Jay tried to talk to her but she shunned him.

She looked at Jay and said, "Not now, Jay." she turned back to Chae Woon and asked, "What do you know about love? You are nothing but a heartless, cold, arrogant..."

"Riele!" Charlotte cautioned her and was about to say more but Chae Woon gestured her not to.

"I was hurt, wounded and what did you do? Nothing! All you care about is yourself and what pleases you and here you are talking to me about love?"

"And what makes you think a cold, heartless, arrogant jerk like me knows nothing about love?" he asked.

Riele looked at him and said, "Prove it." She answered him and they both stared at each other for a long time.
