C1 The Beginning of The End Of Naivety

Diana prepared and served a delicious meal on the dining table. She went to the upper floor to call her pretty daughter Lily who has been sleeping since she got back from school. She nudged her way through the door of her room.

"Lily Angel, dinner is ready! ", Diana exclaimed loud enough to wake her. Lily rolled on the bed then stood up. She stretched and yawned.

"Come on now, sleepy head ", Diana added.

"Mom, I really wish lunch can wait. I still need to sleep more", Lily managed to say while rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"Nonsense, child! Think of your gastritis. You need to eat early for you to heal", Diana noted.

"Oh, okay", Lily returned and followed. They walked down the stairs. On entering the living room, their eyes met with a surprise. There sat Damian on the couch, with a plate in his hand. He was munching some chicken in a way that explained how hungry he was.

""sweethearts ", he called out.

"welcome honey ", Diana said

"Welcome dad", Lily followed.

Lily moved to him and squeezed tightly in his arms. "my beautiful Lily ", Damian whispered to her left ear. He released her and hugged Diana briefly.

"how's work today? ", Diana asked softly.

"Good but it would have been better if you where there with me at the office ", he returned.

"you know I would have been such a distraction," Diana noted and they laughed. Lily suddenly ceased Damian's right hand and saddened her face, giving her the look of a teddy.

"why are you wearing such a heavy face? ", Damian asked concernedly.

" Bicycle! "

"Oh. It really didn't skip my mind. I intend to get it by morrow" , Damian said assuringly.

The settled at the dinning and began to eat their meal. Lily gulped down her cappuccino and frowned.

"what's the matter? ", Diana asked concernedly.

" Didn't catch the chocolate taste in my Cappuccino", Lily complained but her face was revealed there was much to it.

"while it's down your stomach yet? 'Don't think so", Damian said jokingly and chuckled.

"Nah. I think it goes beyond beyond that. What's really the matter ?", Diana asked.

" I had a horrible dream this afternoon. A clown was pushing you and I out of this house but he stabbed me", Lily narrated Absentmindedly.

"You and I? ", Diana asked for clarification against misconception.

"yes, You and I ", Lily stressed.

"Come on sweetheart, tell me, what kind of clowns do they have in the dreamland? ", Damian asked and chuckled.

"Don't I worry honey, I can sleep with you in your room tonight? ", Diana offered.

"What? But sweetie, have you forgotten we've got something to fix tonight?", Damian.

"I understand but can we leave it till morrow? We still have plenty of time to do it", Diana blurted out profusely.

"do what? ", Lily asked.

"It's a secret honey but it's also for your own good I promise ", Damian returned and Diana looked at him wryly.
