everything is topsy-turvy in my life at the moment Lily blurted out absentmindedly.

Why what happened " a voice act from the back of the class. Really thought that everyone was out for a break then turned on hearing a voice surprisingly from behind.

" oh Justin"

" yes?" Justin replied. He was a male friend of hers. A tall, fair,handsome and intelligent rich Guy of eighteen whose parents lived extravagantly in in Britain. They left him behind to study and he visited them on vacations. He had always thought of Lily as his type of girl but she never gave him any chance to prove himself. She dismissed every thought of him with the believe that there is time for everything.

"I didn't know you were in the class" she explained.

" perhaps if you knew, you wouldn't have wallowed in your misery"

" I'm not thinking of anything bad"

" what made everything topsy-turvy in your life?"

" oh you heard that"

" nah, overheard"

" but that was all I said. You clearly heard"

" ok, admitted. Just share it with me OK? Remember that problem shared is as good as problem solved"

" I didn't write everything in my recent quiz", Lily lied.

Justin laughed heartily as if he believed her plausible lies. If that's it then, you Have no case at all. Compare your problem with mine and you'll look for where the comparison lies", Lily

was amazed on how her lies worked so well. She then thought that Justin must be simple-minded to believe that an uncompleted quiz cool throw her into a great state of confusion. Besides, what has confusion got to do with an uncompleted Quiz?

" Such to questionable lie", she thought.

Justin held her left hand and smiled to her. She looked down and thought of how intelligent he was. How he's was not ashamed of the fact that the whole class was watching. He tried to kiss her hand. However, she came back to her senses and pulled her hand back.

" why are you resisting me?", asked Justin with a face that looked disappointed.

' stop taking advantage of my miseries", Lily's voice came.

" did I?",

" you did", she hooted and walked out of the class. Justin run after her.

" please hold on a second", she said and held her shoulder as he caught up with her.

" I'm sorry but it's not what you think. I care about you and..",Justin began but stopped halfway.

"and what ?", Lily voiced curiously with the eyes that requested to hear it all.

"I love you ", Justin confessed, awaiting any judgement she might want to unleash on him.

' Lily's heart lurched and she looked straight into his eyes in the way that seemed like she was just noticing his good looks for the first time. She stood absolutely still and was completely speechless.

" but we are just too young for this!"

" do I look like a 14 year old boy? I'm 18 come on"

"And I'm 17. See that? It's rather too odd to have..."

"A boyfriend at 17? For god's sake, I will never be be a bad influence on you. Baby, just be my girl. go on and bless me with a 'yes'. You'll break my heart if you reject me ", Justin spoke softly, looking into her eyes.

" I will first of all ask Mum about it. Only then will I give you an answer "

" so if your mum says no you will reject me?"

"I just won't know what to do if she says no "

Justin's heart began to beat rapidly. She backed away from her.

' it's alright Lily. Maybe till then"

then he walked away while Lily watched.

When she got home, she hurried her lunch and gulped down a glass of lemonade.

Her face looked moody while she was only thinking of all Justin said to her.

" don't tell me the Lemonade is tasteless. What could have clouded your face? Look if the sky looks like your face I will stay indoor, fasten the shutters, lock the doors, pull the curtains, hide in a thick blankets and pray that the history of Noah won't repeat itself", Diana said and giggled jokingly.

" so tell me, what is the matter?", Diana continued.

" the lemonade taste watery"

" is that so? "

" no no not really"

" then what?"

"it's Justin "

" who's Justin?"

" a classmate of mine"

" Wait a Minute, Justin Williams, the richest student whose parents I learnt where Nigerian British?

" exactly but could you remember so well?

" coz I learnt he's your best friend"

"oh", Lily blushed almost feeling embarrassed.

" so what about him?"

"he...he...! ", Lily gasped.

" he did what?"

"hey asked me to be his girlfriend "

she confessed and bowed head low waiting for words from Diana perhaps a yank of her ears her to keep away from boys, just like she has one seen Beatrice's Mum yank Beatrice's ear in school the day she caught her in Rex's arms.

Rex was Beatrice's boyfriend and Beatrice was her best friend.

" I don't think it's a bad idea. It's just that your dad and I have always wanted you to end up with our friend's son Arthur. It's alright. I won't be the one to choose a guy for you. You're free to date him. Besides I fell for your dad when we were in high school", Diana said and giggled again.

"You and dad were an item since high school? ", Lily asked in awe of the revelation.

"Yes ",Diana admitted again.

"But you must not let Justin have you; I mean sex. He's a very young man who just fell in love so his blood will be boiling to have you. just don't let him. it's not yet time,"

"alright mom ", Lily agreed, coughed and choked.

" a glass of water dear ". Diana proferred a glass of water to her and she sipped from it.

" I feel better now thanks"

" my dear please I want to know why you have deliberately refused to forgive your father "

" but I have"

" no you haven't. You no longer exchange pleasantries with him as usual. For crying out loud, he's is your father "

" is that what he told you? well, I might be his daughter but I I have the right to be apologized to when it becomes necessary. after all, I'm human. After my last encounter with him, I don't feel like his daughter anymore"

" Lillian!", Diana exclaimed.

That was almost the first time her mother called her by her full name. Surely it was not a good sign. She must have gotten on her nerves badly. Now there was a great calm. The type of calm that can let a gentle spirit pass one's corridor. Lily finally spoke up

"Calling me bitch's daughter was the absurd. I also abhor the fact that he found it demeaning to apologize. I'm sorry mother. my mind is made up", said Lilly and walked away from the dining. Diana sat there as if she was pinned to the chair.

'face it yourself Demian ", she muttered at last.
