C20 Moo Nuannuan's Weakness

Moo Nuannuan scowled she read through the articles over and over again, scanning a few pictures that had been uploaded by the netizens. Luckily, she didn't have a Weibo account; otherwise, she would've already be swamped by all these haters. Her thumb pressed against the screen, and the lights flickered intensely. Even under the thick foundation, one could see her flushed face and dark eyes.

Upon reading through all the vicious insults flung towards her, it was impossible for her not to be furious with them! There needed to be an explanation for this. Gripping her phone, she slammed her finger across the different buttons. After everything that had happened and after everything she had done, she wasn't going to let go of this that easily–not anymore.

"Moo Wanqi, you better pick up," she snarled under her breath.

As if the woman had read her mind, the call finally connected.

"Why did you call me this time?" Moo Wanqi asked. There was a twinge of masked innocence wrapped around her voice as if she didn't know what was going on the internet. Truly, if she wasn't such a bitch, she would've had a great future in the acting industry. The woman could truly act as if her entire life depended on it. "Did something happen?"

Moo Nuannuan sneered in response. A part of her wanted to let go of the dull facade she had put on, but she shook that thought away. It was no use if she acted smart now; it was better to play the long game. Suppressing the anger in her heart, she made sure to keep her voice dumb and meek. Her sister wasn't the only one who can act!

"What's the hot news on Weibo that everyone's talking about?" Not only did it appear on Weibo, but it also showed up in various media outlets.

Sometimes, she wondered if people didn't have anything better to do in their lives that they found themselves more enamored by the fake drama cooked up by the upper class. It was always like this. Every single day, she'd be alerted of a news article that featured yet another businessman caught in a scandal or a successful actress confessing to her sins. These were the type of news that the entertainment media wouldn't stop eating up.

"What news?" She scoffed. "I'm very busy at work these days. Since my brother's already coming back from his trip abroad, I have to help him manage the entire company for Dad. I'm not as free as you, you know–sitting on the couch and watching that entertainment news all day. I have far better things to do! If you're just trying to gossip with me, then I'm hanging up."

Although her tone was casual, it held superiority over her younger sister.

Moo Wanqi entered Moo's Corporation as soon as she had graduated from the university. Being the oldest daughter of the Moo Liyan, it was expected of her to take such a high position, and she had always bragged about it whenever she had the chance. "Do you know what I did at work the other day?" She'd always bring up, with a head tilted up so high that it could almost touch the ceiling.

When Moo Nuannuan graduated, even after she had taken the initiative to ask her mother to give her a starting job at Moo's, she was only met with harsh rejection. Xiao Chuhee simply rolled her eyes at her suggestion and snapped, "You're not even as smart as your sister. You think you can match up with her?" She threw the resume back at her face. "Go and find a job on your own."

Moo Liyan said nothing in response.

As the thought, Moo Nuannuan's rage stirred in her stomach. Suddenly, her dull facade had dropped.

"You don't have to pretend, you know," she said snidely, playing with her cover sheets. Her words were sharp and quick–a stark contrast from the dull and slow tone she had used a couple of seconds back. "I know that you did this, but it doesn't really matter. I'm sure you don't have to be educated to know I'm Young Madame Mu now. Even if the Mu family despised me, they certainly wouldn't allow anyone–not even you–to try and destroy my reputation."

Moo Wanqi's expression changed at her words.

For so long, her younger sister had always been a stupid woman–always nodding and agreeing to whatever they ordered her to do. However, ever since she had married into the Mu family, her sister had suddenly grown a backbone. There was something different about her now, and a part of her couldn't help but feel that Moo Nuannuan meant what she said.

However, Moo Wanqi didn't look the slightest bit intimidated.

How could she when she knew of her little sister's weakness?

"You may not care about me, but don't tell me that you don't care about your mother?" The corners of her lips inched up.

As long as Xiao Chuhee was pushed into the conversation, Moo Nuannuan would revert back to her lapdog self. It had always been like this, so whenever her younger sister seemed resistant in following her, she knew exactly what to say and do.

Moo Wanqi knew that Moo Nuannuan cared for her mother, even if Xiao Chuhee didn't give a flying shit about her.

Her grip on the phone tightened. "Please, I don't care about her."

Immediately, she hung up the phone.

Moo Nuannuan scowled, staring at her screen. The bitch thought that she'd be able to back down so easily? Well she had another thing coming! It was just then when she felt a pair of eyes staring down at her when she finally looked up.

The door was slightly ajar. A man was leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed over his chest. It didn't take a genius to recognize that the man was none other than Mu Jiachen. Who else would it be? Her face turned pale in an instant. Hadn't she locked the door?

"How the hell did you get in?" She yanked up her sheets.

Mu Tingxiao simply dangled the keys in response. "What do you think?"

"Get out!" Her cheeks flushed in anger.

Why the hell did he have the key to her room?
