C16 The Fever

Addison POV

Christof handled the situation very well.

There is no doubt why he used to win the best billionaire awards every year. He was so good in his business.

After the meeting, we left the office and headed back home. It took us 4 hours to reach home as the journey was too long.

When I reached home Noel came running towards me, gave me a tight hug.

I carried him in my arms and began to kiss him. "I hope you didn't cause any trouble to Sarah auntie", I asked Noel.

"No I didn't because I am a good boy", he replied.

"He behaved good, he is such a cute child, you should rest now I will tuck him in bed" Sarah replied with a smile on her face.

I entered my room, took a shower, and put on my night suit.

Christof entered the room he changed and went to bed. I was reading a book as I was not feeling sleepy.

I watched Christof sleeping, he looked so innocent and cute.

I caressed his hair with love, when I touched his head it was warm, I think Christof had fever. So I checked his temperature, it was high. I went to the kitchen and took a bowl of cold water along with a cloth.

I put the cloth on his head, I changed the cloth every 2 mins.

I called the doctor and told him about Christof's condition. The doctor advised me to give him a few tablets. So I did as the doctor instructed me to do.

I called Jared and asked him to get a few tablets that the doctor prescribed for Christof. Jared knocked at my door and handed me the tablets which I asked for. I made chicken soup for christof so that he could feel better.

I woke Christof up and asked him to have the soup along with the tablets.

"I am fine Addison, why all this? I'm ok". Christof said.

"You are not ok christof your body is so warm and I want you to have these tablets right now", I replied.

I fed him the soup because he was doing a lot of fuss to have it just like a baby.

He had the soup and the tablets.

I put him to sleep in my arms by holding him tight. In a few minutes, Christof was fast asleep. He sleeps just like a small innocent baby. I feel that kind of cute, so I kissed him on his cheek and went to sleep holding him tight to my chest.

Christof POV

After the meeting I felt very sick, the trip was too exhausting and straining.

When I reached home, I entered my room and went to bed.

After an hour Addison woke me up and handed me a few tablets along with a bowl of chicken soup.

I told her that I am fine and I don't need to have all this. She forced me to have the soup by feeding me. I felt good after having the soup and medicine.

The next morning when I woke up I found my face buried in her chest.

It was so soft and it smelled so good. I woke up and kissed her on her cheeks.

I took a shower and began to head towards the dining room.

My mom was waiting for me in the dining room.

"Good morning mom," I said by kissing her cheeks.

"Good morning sweetheart, slept well?" My mom asked.

"Yes I did mom" I answered.

My mom had prepared breakfast for me.

After a few minutes Addison entered the dining room, she wished my mom good morning.

My mom wished her back by giving her a tight hug.

"Addison, today you need to leave alone as I will not be joining you in the office today. I got some work to do, I hope you are fine with that?" I asked her.

"Yes I am", she replied.

I didn't tell Addison about my other business which is related to the Mafia world.

I left home and headed towards the place where I was informed to be, I had a meeting with the other mafia business men.

We keep our meetings private and our identity too.

We discussed about the supplies of guns and other weapons, and also the supply of alcohol.

I decided that I would stop this business as it would be too dangerous for Addison.

I had no worries in the start as I had nothing to lose but now I have Addison, I can't lose her at any cost, I need to keep her safe.

After the meeting I left from that place, I drove towards the company as I had to have an important chat with Jared.

I called Jared in my cabin, and after a few minutes Jared entered my cabin.

"I wanted to discuss something important with you Jared", I said.

"What is it Christof", he asked.

"I'm thinking of leaving the Mafia as I don't wanna risk Addison's life, you know how dangerous this is!", I said.

"Christof it is not easy to leave, you know that very well, when you join it you are trapped in that forever, if you leave you will definitely put Addison's life at risk, because the dealer will come after her, if they get to know the reason why you left it.

"What should I do Jared, I can't risk Addison's life", I replied.

"Christof you continue with this, I find a way to keep Addison safe, ease till then don't do anything stupid", he added.

"Are you sure you will find some other way out?", I asked.

"Yes I will Christof, I am your right hand you know that, I will definitely find another way out, just give me some time", he added.

"Take how much time you want Jared", I said.

"Just don't worry Addison will be safe, and I will make sure no one harms her", saying that he left the cabin.

I began to resume my work on my laptop.

Jared POV

Christof was thinking to quit the Mafia business, he was not aware that if he would quit themis business, his family would be in danger, along with his life.

it is my duty to protect him and his family.

I made Christof understand that if he left this business if you put is family and Addison's life in danger.

I and Anna were staying together, Anna moved in with me in my appartment.

Her mom moved to another country, she was staying all alone, I felt that It would be right if she stayed along with me.
