After a week

Christof POV

I woke up with my alarm ringing, took a shower, and started to get ready for my office. When I got out of my room and led my way towards the living room. I saw that my mom and sister, were waiting for me.

I approached my mother and gave her a tight hug and kissed her on her cheeks.

"Good morning mom, how are you?"

"I'm good sweetheart, you look so weak, haven't you eaten well?"

"Mom don't worry about me I'm fine" I replied.

Then my sister Sarah asked, "is it true what we heard, that you are getting married?, who is that lucky girl I want to know everything about her ok".

"I'm so happy for you darling you have taken the right decision. Your father would be soo happy for you if he was alive, he always wanted you to get married and live a happy life". My mom said with a smile on her face.

I just gave a fake smile as I knew what the truth was.

"We all want to meet her. Can you get her for dinner sweetheart". My mom asked.

"Yeah sure some other time mom, I'm getting late so I gotta leave now mom see you for dinner" I replied.

Your brother had some important work to do so he couldn't join us to meet you today, he is very happy for you darling and he is proud of you, we all are happy for you.

"Ok darling bye have a good day sweetheart"

My mom said with a smile on her face.

I then left for work.

I reached my office, before entering my cabin. I asked Jared to call Addison as I had some work with her.

She entered my cabin after a minute, I told her to take a seat.

"I called you here because I wanted to have a serious talk with you and it's not related to work but something else".

"I want you to marry me, Addison!!.

Please don't be mistaken that I'm madly in love with you; it would just be a contract between us. I would marry you, we would stay together for a year and a half and then I would divorce you".

"Don't worry, you will be paid for it and your job will be secured too!!!"

"But if you reject my marriage proposal you will lose your job and the money too. It's up to you now".

"You are joking right sir?", She asked.

"Do you think I am?, I'm am serious Addison", I replied

"And yes if you're thinking that you will be getting another job in some other company then sweetheart you are mistaken*.

"I have a lot of pull and other businessmen are scared of me. Now it's up to do. I will give you a day to think about this, I want to know your answer by tomorrow you can leave now", I added.

"But why do you choose me?", She asked.

"There are many girls out here you could choose any, why did you choose me?",

"I am not interested in answering any of your questions, I want to know my answer by Tomorrow, you have a day

You can leave now Addison", I said

"I am not leaving till I get an answer from you Christof", she said.

"You are supposed to call me sir and not by my name Addison, don't you remember I am your boss".

"Yes I do remember you are my boss, but you have no right to rule over my life".

"Marriage is not a joke, if it is a joke to you, it is not for me, so please Christof don't play with my life".

"I am in need of this job, please understand my situation'.

"I know that you are in need of this job and money, so I'm paying you right, you can live a good life with your brother, sent him to an expensive and good school, and most importantly you will get the money and you won't lose your job, it's not a great deal Addison".

"It is not a great deal for me, I wanted to marry a man who would love me",

"Listen Addison, you have a day to think, I want an answer by tomorrow, and yes if it is a no you know the consequences, you can leave now".

"I don't think it would be a yes Christof",she said.

"Okay but I will be waiting, you still have time Addison".

"I hate you Christof", saying this she left my cabin.

I saw her leaving my cabin with anger, I don't know why but I felt bad from inside talking to her like this, I have never felt like this before, I have spoken rudely with many people or even In a worse way, but this time I felt bad.

I saw her from my window leaving the office. She headed towards the garden, she took a seat in the garden, I kept watching her from my window.

After a few minutes I began to work on my laptop as I had to finish my incomplete work.

Jared entered my cabin, "Christof what is going on", he asked

"Nothing Jared, why do you ask so?, I said.

"That is because Christof I saw Addison walk away from your cabin with anger, I have never seen that kind of look on her face".

"It's nothing Jared, you will get to know everything very soon, don't worry".

"Oh so now I see that you are keeping secrets from your best friend Christof", he replied.

"I want to tell you everything Jared but I'm forced to not tell you please understand my situation, you know that I share everything with you", I replied.

"Fine Christof, just tell me one thing, this is it about that contract", he asked.

"Yes it is about that contract", I replied.

"But why did you make such a contract which would ruin your life, marriage is not a joke Christof", He said.

"I know Jared marriage is not a joke, you even know that very well I was not intending to marry anyone, but because of my beloved dad I am forced to do so, I will tell you everything why I am doing this for now I just can't tell you anything", I replied.

"Ok fine, but be careful Christof, you have worked really very hard to reach here, you are one of the best businessmen in the world, you have won many awards for that", he said.

"Yes I know that very well jared". I replied.

"Yes I wanted to tell you one more thing you will be attending another award function which will be next week, don't forget about that", he added.

"Yes I do remember about that thanks for reminding Jared", I replied.

"Ok fine I will take a leave", saying this Jared left from my cabin.
