C1 Beginning
Two black jeeps rolled into the large beautiful premises having a white coloured mansion obviously
created by a foreigner.
The door of the second jeep opened and a young girl all dressed in a black flowing gown rushed into
the house clutching to her black scarf as her face was wet with tears.
A pretty lady looking older than the girl rushed in after her.

In her room,she slumped on the bed palming her face supporting her elbows with her thighs while she
sobbed uncontrollably.
. The door opened quietly and the lady walked in slowly and carefully sat down next to the crying girl.
"Listen Eva... you need to be strong okay? It's over." The lady assured and the girl hugged her really tight.
"It's not okay Nanny. I miss them. I wish I died with then." She sobbed.
"Eva! Please don't say that!. They surely won't be happy to see you this way in their resting place. Pull
yourself together Eva. I am here for you." The Nanny assured as Eva still wept.
Her world felt so dark and empty after the horrible demise of her parents the previous month.
Everything felt stupid to her and she wished she had followed them to Abuja that day so she would
have been dead with them.
"It is ok. Calm down." The Nanny cooed stroking her long rich hair.
"The lawyer would be here any moment so get ready." Nanny said and she nodded withdrawing from
the hug.
Nanny stared at her for a short while before leaving the room.

Eva alighted the stairs with a sad look and pale face.
The lawyer had already arrived and her Nanny was seated opposite him.
She got herself a seat next to her Nanny.
"Good evening Miss. Bieber. Am deeply sorry for your loss." The lawyer stated and she only kept mute.
"Please,read the will. She is not in a presentable mood. Don't mind her silence,she is going through
a lot." The Nanny said.
"I understand." The lawyer exhaled and opened a file that was next to him.
" I am leaving behind all my estates all over Nigeria under the name of my only surviving daughter Miss
Eva Bieber. All my cars are willed to my daughter Eva Bieber and my jeeps and private jets to my
darling wife Sonya Bieber. My companies are to be run by my daughter with support from her
mother,my wife. Every other assets of mine under my name not mentioned above are willed unto my
daughter. This is my last wish."
The lawyer closed the file and the face of Eva had already turned pink due to her fair skin.
"Why?" She muttered and slowly stood up as she zombied all the way back to her room.

I adjusted my neck tie staring at my reflection.
My pink and purple uniform complimented my fair skin so much and my long curly wavy curled hair
was let loose flowing down my back.
I had a typical Korean female look.....because my Mother is from Korea.
She then married my dad who is a Nigerian.
In my school, I was the attraction and most times,the attention annoyed me.
But now, things has changed.
I am now an orphan left with so much wealth and robbed of parental care for life.
I let out a sigh picking up my bag and walked out of the room.
As I alighted the stairs, I spotted Nanny waiting for me at the foot of the stairs.
"Good morning." I greeted icily.
"Did you sleep well?" She asked and I nodded.
I didn't and she too knows that I am lying.
"You didn't eat dinner last night. Come have breakfast." She urged and I sighed.
"Not hungry Nanny." I said.
"You need to eat something Eva. I don't want you to fall sick." She said with utmost sincerity.
I bit my lip and walked towards the dinning room where I spotted my regular morning milk waiting for
me.
It had a kind of herb in it according to Mum that would make me look a lot more fresh... remember she
is from Korea.
I picked up the glass, opened it and carefully emptied the glass.
"I really am not hungry yet. At least I had the milk. I will get something at the canteen. Bye Nanny." I
waved and walked off.

As I walked towards the elevator that would lead me to my class, I heard students calling unto me but
I was in no mood to reply.
I arrived the floor and headed to my locker first where I saw lots of paper cards pasted on my locker
door.
"...We are sorry for your loss Eva.."
"I wish I could take away your pain.."
".. I love you Eva.. please be happy."
I smiled at the cards and opened my locker to behold a small pink teddy bear right inside my locker.
A note was attached to it.
"For you Eva... your crush.."
I was forced to laugh softly and I took out the teddy bear holding it while I took out my needed books.
"Eva.." I heard a joint call and this time, I had to answer.
I closed the locker and turned to see my best friends.
Simi and Bella...
A light smile crept up my lips as we had a group hug.
"We are sorry we didn't attend the will reading." Simi said and I smiled.
"I understand. At least you attended the burial." I smiled softly.
"You need to be strong Eva. Try to find happiness in your new world." Bella said.
"I am trying..but... it is really hard.." I replied frankly and they held my hands.
"We are here for you all the way Eva... Trust us." Simi assured and all I felt was security and love.

"Bye girls!" I waved and they walked off while I waited for my driver to come pick me up.
"Hey! Hey!'.
I turned to see Ronnie!
My heart missed a beat as he approached me.
Just so you know... Ronnie is my one sided crush...yeah.
Cause am not sure he likes me.
He is a full Nigerian...fair skinned, well fit... and gosh...his brown eyes and lips are just too catchy!
"Hi.." He cooed and I tried to hold in my blush while clutching hard to the teddy.
"Hello.." I slightly waved.
"Um..am sorry for your loss. It was quite sad that my family already had plans for that day so I couldn't
attend the burial." He apologized.
"Huh? You planned on attending?" I asked in awe.
"Yeah.."
"My! That's dope. Anyways, thanks a lot."I replied and he grinned.
"So...um.."
"Miss Eva!.."
I turned swifty to see my waiting driver.
"Oops! My ride is here. Gotta go... bye!" I waved and scurried off.

I kept scrolling through my Facebook news feed as no posts entertained me till I came across one.
It's an idolized post of a famous Korean boy band and their female band too.
. I really dunno them as I don't fancy them a bit but my friends do.
I once heard the guys are arrogant especially the 'supposed head of the band' and as for the females...hot but too b!tchy if I may say. I heard the leader once poured hot choco on a poor girl who
sat on her chair..
I mean...who does that?!..
I hissed and scrolled on when a call popped up on my screen.
The number wasn't among my contact list and my Truecaller didn't give any information.
I reluctantly took the call.
"Hello?" I said to the server.
"Hey! It's Ronnie!" He replied and I sat up on my bed.

"My! Ronnie? Wow." I exclaimed.
We both had become really close and he got my contact yesterday.
I never expected his call this soon.
"So.. what's popping?" He asked and I shrugged.
"Boredom o. Am so lonely." I sighed and he chuckled...
"How about we go out for a movie?" He
offered and I smiled.

For once in weeks, I had a bit of fun...all thanks to Ronnie.
I really owe him one.
"All right. We will chat later.' I said and he smiled.
"Okay then. Good night." He cooed and I blushed when we hugged.
"Bye.." I whispered and headed into the premises while he got into the car and drove away.
"Nanny! Am home!" I announced arriving the main sitting room and I paused on my track.

She gave me a cranky smile as she got off the couch.
"Anneong dear niece.." She smrinked and I gulped horrified.
I dunno why but..she had a really bad aura around her.
I could feel it.
"Come on Eva..or let me call you...Kim Yoo.. come give your Auntie a hug.." She urged and I didn't flinch
then she sighed.
"Servants!" She called and they all rushed out.
Huh!?
"Tomorrow by 9am..I will be making a very vital announcement and everyone of you must be in
attendance including you..Kim Yoo. "Aunt San San addressed and my eyes dimmed.
