C8 The Unexpected Visitor
Amelia
Leila was hiding something. She didn't act too different today, there was just a specific light in her eyes. Like she was looking forward to something.
Did she and Damien reconcile?...no,that was unlikely. She wasn't the type to forgive easily. Maybe a new partner for the breeding ceremony?
I shook my head. That wasn't it either, Leila wasn't the type to up and get pregnant without any preparation. I shouldn't be worried about it but her new behavior has been putting me on an edge, coupled with the fact that she's been spending time with Alpha Xander.
Fucking whore…I know that she isn't sleeping with him, she doesn't return home with his scent on her, that was a relieve.
I entered her room. It was annoyingly neat.
“What are you hiding?” I murmured carelessly searching her wardrobe. I didn't bother to place the things I threw out in place. She'll know I was here but there's nothing she can do about it.
“What are you doing?” mom asked from the door.
“Looking for whatever Leila's hiding.”
“Hiding?”
I paused the search of under Leila's bed and got up.
“Didn't Leila look different this morning?”
“Amelia, the breeding season starts today. Every omega looks different today.” She didn't look or sound impressed.
“No, no. Not that…she looked like she was looking forward to something…expecting something to happen…”
“You do realize that this is the first breeding season she'll be attending.”
Last breeding season, I had ‘accidentally’ pushed her down the stairs and she sprained her ankle.
“I know…but I have a feeling that isn't the case either mother.”
Mom eyed me, I could see she was finally taking me seriously.
“Alright, tell me what's on your mind.”
I beamed, no one supported me more than my mom.
“Leila has been spending most of her free time with the Alpha, if he's around. If not, she's in general Regan's house.”
“She works there.”
Mom wasn't one to rush to conclusions without real evidence except when it suited her.
“You're right but if she was looking forward to the ceremony won't she be home by now? I spoke to a friend of mine that went to the healer today, she said the place was packed in the morning but by afternoon the crowd had thinned.”
Mom had a thoughtful look on her face.
“She didn't pack any bag and hasn't carried any with her this week. There's nothing for her to wear except the healers old clothes in the general's house so why isn't she back?”
“She might be on her way.”
“Yes but…”
There was a knock on the door. It definitely wasn't Leila.
“I'll see who it is” mom said getting up, “go and prepare for the night.”
I nodded but followed her to the door.
“General Regan, what a surprise” mother said as she saw who was outside.
Leila…something must have happened because the general wasn't here for dad. They all gathered for a meeting with Alpha Xander and I'm sure he's coming from there.
“Sonia, good evening. Is your daughter in?”
“Of course.” Mom opened the door wider and I stepped forward, standing by her side.
“Good evening General Regan.”
Why was there an entourage of omegas behind him? What's going on?
“Good evening Amelia. Sonia I'm sorry, I meant your other daughter, Leila.”
“May I ask why you're asking for her?” Mother asked, ignoring his mistake.
“Alpha Xander sent these omegas to prepare her, she has been given the role of Luna for the ceremony.”
What?! Luna?!!...that bitch!!! She knew how bad I wanted to be Luna and yet…this was what she was fucking hiding.
But, why did dad not say anything? Did he not know?
“Oh, I see…” I'm sure the general didn't notice but mom's eyes got darker, “...she hasn't come back since she went to your place.”
“I see, sorry to trouble you.”
I watched him turn and it felt like this opportunity was slipping from my fingers.
“General, won't it be better for the omegas to wait here. I'm sure that they are almost tired and they'll need their energy to get Leila ready.”
They need to be here to prepare me instead. If I show up in Leila's place, it will be too late for anybody to change it.
General Regan looked at me and I tried to not flinch from his harsh gaze. It's like he knew what was going on in my head.
“Thank you for your concerns but the distance to my house isn't much.”
“See you at the ceremony general.”
“You too Sonia.”
They turned and left, leaving me standing and stewing in my rage.

Leila
Marenza asked me to soak in warm water for a bit before the omegas that Regan came with started anything on me. She claimed it will relax my nerves, I had argued that I wasn't nervous but it turned out that she was correct.
I sighed and slid further into the bath. I didn't want my family to know I was Luna until they saw me in the ceremony but according to Regan that wasn't the case anymore.
I'm glad that at least I wasn't getting ready at home. I won't put it pass Amelia to pull an annoying prank.
“Alright sweetie, time to shine” Marenza said holding up a towel.
I smiled and got up.
By the time the omegas were done with pushing me about, which had amused Marenza, I couldn't believe I was the person in the mirror.
They had managed to straighten my unruly curly hair, it reached my lower back. Whatever they applied on my eyes made their green color more vivid and my lips were a beautiful shade of pink.
“Sweetie…” Marenza cooed with glistering eyes, “...you look so stunning.”
I smiled, my eyes suspiciously wet. She was like my self proclaimed mother and I was happy she was here with me in this moment.
“Thank you…”
“No, no…no crying this night except in pleasure.”
I laughed, my cheek coloring.
“Thank you” I said to the omegas. They smiled in response.
“Alright, time to show this stunning view to the pack” Regan said entering the room.
We laughed.
