When she had reached the corner of the building, Beska peered over her shoulder. Dawn filled the sky now, but the alley was still covered in deep shadow. She could make out the shape of the three Shifters at the mouth to the courtyard. They didn’t appear to be concerned about her shuffling, or even looking her direction.
