C2 Chapter 2: Back

The journey to the manor had been long; the Duke had ensured that Athena would be far away from the mansion. There wasn't a soul left clueless about the Duke's hate towards his daughter, he had beaten her up privately and publicity that it was now a common thing for people to see the princess being treated badly

If one met her with the duke for the first time ,they would never think that they are related nor would they think that she was the Dukes only child from his wife who was the princess of another kingdom

"Princess, are you okay , you seem pale" ,her maid asked with worry

"I'm good, don't you worry about it, all we need to do is arrive safely and Ill think about my health later on

"Okay princess" the maid said

This times Athena was determined on changing her faith, and the first step to that was to change the direction of the carriage

1 year and months later

Athena finally returned. As she walked in she could feel all eyes on her. The maids could not believe that a person could change within a short period of time. She looked matured and had lost a lot of weight, she looked tall her and more confident with herself and her maid was the same, but what shocked them the most was that she was wearing pants and not a dress.

"Princess, we have to meet your father and fiancé today" Sophia said to Athena

"Do I really have to meet them today of all days?" Athena asked already annoyed

"Yes" Sophia said and patted her head

Their relationship has gotten very strong since they lived together. They were more like sisters than master and maid at that point.

"Okay, let's go get a rest first. Then we can talk to my fiancé and then to father" Athena said

"But we have to meet the Duke first" Sophia said

"He can wait. It's not like he's his death bed anyways" Athena said clearly knowing that her father was very ill

"You know that he is" Sophia said and sighed. She had given up trying to convince this girl for she knew more than anybody that she was a hard nut to crack

Athena and Sophia walked towards their own rooms. Sophia went to the maid quarters and Athena went to her own room. Sophia tried to accompany her to get ready,but she refused knowing that Sophia was very tired.

When she reached her bedroom she saw what she expected. Everything was left as it was. There was a bit of cleaning here and there , but it wasn't quite clean and as expected no maid came to visit her at all.

But she didn't care about that. She was super excited to see her family members and fiancé, she couldn't wait for their meet-up
