C2 “I Have My Pride”

Alex had finished his work for the day. He walked into the parking lot and made his way to his car. He took his car smart key from his pocket and stretched it towards the driver's seat before pressing the unlock button to open the door.

He yanked on the handle and flung open the door wide. He got into the car and shut the door. He was about to start the car when he noticed the fuel level was low. He wondered if he'd be able to get home with the volume of fuel he had left.

He decided to take his wallet from his trouser pocket and pulled it out. When he opened it, he discovered that his wallet was empty. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He closed it and opened it again, checking every corner and angle, but he still couldn't find anything. He was extremely dissatisfied.

He rested his head on the steering wheel, pondering his next move; he had two options: walk down to his apartment or drive his car home hoping the car doesn’t stop on the way.

After a few minutes of deliberation, he made a decision. His apartment is a long distance from his workplace, so trekking was out of the option. He had no choice but to drive the down to his apartment. He was going to park the car if it stopped on the way, and he might be lucky if it doesn't stop until he gets home.

He lifted his head from the steering wheel, cleared his throat, and pressed the car's start button. The car's engine started right away. He eased out of the parking lot and onto the road.

When he arrived at his apartment's parking lot, he got out of his car. He was relieved that the car did not stop in the middle of the road while he was driving. He couldn't believe he'd made it to his destination at all. He walked out, closing the car door and locking it with the car smart key in had on his hand..

He took out his phone to keep himself entertained while he waited for the elevator to be empty. After a few seconds, the elevator doors opened, and while the passengers exited, he put his phone back into his pocket because there was no need to press the phone again.

He walked towards the elevator's entrance when it was empty, but before a lady bumped into him, he lost his balance and fell down on the floor with the lady. He was furious, but he didn't have time to respond because the elevator was about to close.

He got up as quickly as he could so he could enter the elevator. He was able to get into the elevator. He selected the floor he wanted to stop then he waited patiently for the doors to close. Then a hand appeared in the middle of the door out of a sudden, making the elevator doors repel.
