Upon hearing Lin Yuv's words, Xi Yihann frowned. Lin lived on the outskirts of town, completely opposite the direction of the company. A round trip would probably take until midnight, and there were still things to handle at work...

Yiyue noticed that Lin's eyes seemed to avoid contact when she spoke. It was as if she didn't want Xi Yihann to go to the office.

Why didn't she want him to go? Yiyue frowned, glanced at Xi Yihann, and quickly kicked off her shoes, heading upstairs barefoot.

By the time Xi Yihann snapped out of his thoughts, he heard Yiyue's voice from upstairs: "If you're going, then I'm off to get my beauty sleep."

Skipping out on work wasn't Yiyue's style at all. With the company's situation still unclear, they might have to pull an all-nighter. Since their father had spoken, Yiyue was quick to pass the responsibility.

Seeing Yiyue dash upstairs, Lin almost asked her to stay.

Xi Yihann looked at Lin, then thought about the company's issues. It was a tough decision.

Noticing Xi Yihann's hesitation, his father frowned, "What's the matter?"

After a moment of hesitation, Xi Yihann decided to be honest, "Lin lives on the edge of town. If I take her home first, I might not make it back in time for work."

His father looked at Lin and paused, "It's not convenient for a young woman to get home alone. You drive to the company, and I'll have the driver take her."

"Okay!" With the driver taking Lin Yuv home, Yihann didn't have to worry about her safety, so he agreed without a second thought, missing the uneasy look in Lin Yuv's eyes.

As they left the house, Lin Yuv refused to get into the car alone. She clung to Yihann, teary-eyed, "Yihann, could you please take me home? It's my first time being this far from home at night."

Yihann might seem cold on the outside, but he had a soft spot for women who knew how to charm him. Otherwise, he wouldn't always give in to Yiyue's requests.

With Lin Yuv playing the sympathy card and pleading, Yihann finally agreed to drive her home himself.

On the way, Yihann called Yiyue. When she picked up and learned he was taking Lin Yuv home, she nearly lost it.

"Typical," she thought, "he's forgotten all about his sister now that he has a girlfriend!"

Especially since their father favored Lin Yuv!

Despite her frustration, Yiyue quickly got up and headed downstairs, knowing she couldn't neglect her responsibilities at the company.

Downstairs, their father saw Yiyue coming down again and frowned, "Your brother already left. What's going on?"

"What's going on?" Yiyue pouted, a mischievous thought crossing her mind. She replied honestly, "He's taking his future wife home."

"What?" Mr. Xi nearly jumped out of his seat. Hadn't he arranged for the driver to take her? Was he supposed to worry that the driver might do something to his daughter's friend?

Mr. Xi asked the housekeeper to call and confirm that the driver was indeed still at the door. Frustrated, he immediately called the driver in.

When the driver came in and explained that Lin Yuv had insisted on Yihann taking her, Mr. Xi frowned. Mrs. Xi, who had been silent until now, also seemed displeased.

She had been quite satisfied with Lin Yuv initially, but now it seemed like she was overstepping her bounds.

Mr. Xi let out a huff and turned to Yiyue, saying, "Alright, I'll handle the business matters. You should head back to bed; it's late."
