C15 Miss 15 Who Was Cannon Fodder

Yiyue had always been less involved in the company's affairs, but with her father falling ill, everything now fell on her shoulders. While scolding her son, Xi's mother felt even more sympathy for her daughter.

Unaware of her mother's thoughts, Yiyue waited until her father calmed down before looking at her, "Mom, maybe you should say less."

Xi's mother nodded and sighed as she looked at her husband. Once he was calm, he patted Yiyue's hand without speaking. Knowing he was still upset, Yiyue didn't say much either. After chatting briefly with her mother, she was sent home to prepare for the company's matters the next day.

Her father's health had never been great, and this time, he likely wouldn't be able to return to work for a month. Thinking about the pile of issues awaiting her, Yiyue didn't argue and headed home with her bag.

Even though her mother urged her to leave, it was already around 1 a.m. when Yiyue finally went to bed. With all the company's responsibilities on her shoulders, Yiyue truly understood what stress meant. She arrived at the office before six every morning and rarely got home before ten at night. After a month of this routine, she was so exhausted she could barely move, and her once slightly chubby face had noticeably thinned.

Seeing her daughter's condition, Xi's mother felt heartbroken. But with the doctor's orders that Xi's father couldn't overwork after being discharged, there was no choice. Until Xi Yihann returned, Yiyue had to handle everything for the company.

Yiyue was working diligently, and with Luh Xin's support, everything at the Xi Corporation was running smoothly as usual. However, a few of the older board members were unhappy about being managed by Yiyue, a young woman, and occasionally gave her a hard time. Yiyue handled it all calmly, ignoring their antics, and since she managed things well, they eventually quieted down. After all, if the company suffered any losses, they'd be in trouble too.

Two months passed, and there was still no sign of Xi Yihann returning. Fortunately, under Yiyue's management, the company gradually stabilized, and she was gaining more experience, finally allowing her to leave work at a normal hour.

At five o'clock, during the rush hour, Yiyue waited outside the company for quite a while. Her driver called to say he was stuck in traffic. Should she take a cab home herself? She had considered driving herself, but with so much paperwork every day, her eyes were too tired for safe driving, and Xi's father wouldn't allow it.

As she was pondering, a black car pulled up in front of her. The window rolled down, revealing a familiar face.

"Miss Xi, your driver isn't here. Need a ride home?" Luh Xin, sitting in the passenger seat, removed her sunglasses and looked at Yiyue with interest.

Yiyue blinked, "And you are?"

She usually had a great memory, and while the person in front of her seemed familiar, she couldn't quite place him. Luh Xin pouted slightly, feigning a hurt expression. "My last name is Luh."

"Luh?" Wasn't the head of Jinghe Corporation also named Luh?

Taking a closer look, Yiyue finally recognized him as the culprit who had caused her to rush to the office in the middle of the night two months ago.

Seeing the realization dawn on Yiyue's face, Luh Xin asked again, "So, Miss Xi, would you like a ride?"

Yiyue glanced around and, seeing no taxis nearby, hesitated before nodding. "I’d appreciate it, Miss Luh."

Luh Xin smiled, put her sunglasses back on, and nodded toward the car, signaling Yiyue to get in.
