C24 Miss 24 Who Was Cannon Fodder
She had no idea there were cameras there; if she had known...
"This kid isn't mine, is it?" Yihann closed his eyes and took a deep breath. At this moment, he seemed to have calmed down.
Actually, if he thought about the timing, during that period he was in a slump and hadn't been intimate with Lin Yuv much.
The street cameras clearly showed the time of the incident.
Yihann suddenly laughed. What had he done? For Lin Yuv, he had driven his sister to leave the country and put such a strain on his father's health. In the end, this woman, after being with him, had brought him nothing but betrayal.
"You should go. We're getting a divorce." His calm voice shattered Lin Yuv's heart.
Lin Yuv knelt on the ground, covering her face, sobbing, "Yihann, the child is yours, it's yours."
At this point, saying such things seemed rather futile.
Now that everything was clear, no one knew better than Yihann whether the child was his.
Yihann was determined to divorce. By the afternoon, the lawyer had brought over the divorce papers.
After seeing the video, Yihann's mother was so upset that she accompanied his father to the hospital for a check-up. To avoid upsetting his father further, she hadn't dared to mention it yet.
In the end, Lin Yuv didn't sign the papers, but Yihann still drove her out of the family villa.
When a man loves you, he'll give everything for you, treating you like you're the center of his world. But if you cross his line and he loses his feelings for you, you'll mean nothing more than a weed to him, not worth a second thought.
Lin Yuv had rented a place to live, and at six months pregnant, everything was becoming a struggle. Somehow, Fu Chen found out where she was staying and showed up at her apartment. Seeing him, Lin Yuv couldn't hold back her tears and cried her heart out.
Despite the time apart, they ended up in each other's arms, even with Lin Yuv heavily pregnant. She was already exhausted, hadn't been taking care of herself properly, and the emotional turmoil was too much. Her body couldn't handle Fu Chen's intensity, and before they were even finished, she started bleeding heavily.
Fu Chen was terrified and rushed her to the hospital, but unfortunately, they couldn't save the baby. Lin Yuv had to undergo a procedure and was told she could never be a mother again. After the baby was delivered, a paternity test confirmed it was Fu Chen's child.
Before she could even process her grief, Lin Yuv was taken to court for a forced divorce from Xi Yihann. Since she had been unfaithful, the marriage was dissolved. Being an orphan, Lin Yuv had nowhere to go, so she clung to Fu Chen. He genuinely loved her, and as soon as the divorce was finalized, he took her to get married again.
After following Fu Chen to his family home, Lin Yuv discovered that the Fu family had gone bankrupt and that Mr. Fu had passed away. Lin found herself squeezed into a small rental apartment with the entire Fu family, taking on the role of serving them tea and water.
Having been pampered by Fu Chen and Yihann in the past, Lin had never done such chores before. Within a month, she grew frustrated and constantly complained to Fu Chen. However, with the family's financial troubles, Fu Chen was overwhelmed with responsibilities. Besides offering a few words of comfort, he couldn't do much else.
To Lin, it seemed like Fu Chen was growing tired of her as well, which only deepened her resentment. Initially, Fu Chen tried to soothe her complaints, but as they became more frequent, his patience wore thin. Additionally, since Lin couldn't have children, the Fu family began to dislike her.
Gradually, Lin's status in the household diminished to less than that of a servant. One morning, after waking up late and missing breakfast preparations, she overheard Fu's mother grumbling. In a fit of anger, Lin grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked her.
Seeing the blood everywhere, Lin was terrified even before the police arrived, and she lost her mind. When Fu's father saw the scene, he fainted on the spot. A family that was already struggling fell apart completely that morning. Fu Chen, who had been trying to hold everything together, found Lin's actions to be the final straw.
The news about Fu Chen and Lin Yuv reached Yiyue's ears several months later. By then, Xi's father and mother had sent a message asking her to return home, but Yiyue flatly refused.
While Xi's parents seemed to care for her, their hearts were clearly biased towards Xi Yihann. After all her hard work for the Xi family, as soon as Yihann returned, she was expected to hand over everything without question. Even though she had no particular attachment to the Xi family, her parents' actions left her feeling cold.
Living abroad wasn't so bad. She had adopted a little girl and purchased a farm, enjoying a peaceful life that was far better than being exhausted from dealing with the Xi family's affairs.
The letter she sent back seemed to vanish without a trace, receiving no response. Xi's mother grumbled about Yiyue being ungrateful, but Xi's father understood that their actions had hurt their daughter deeply. If she felt happier abroad, then so be it.
Unexpectedly, Yiyue's account received a large sum of money. A glance at the sender confirmed it was from Xi's father. Was this his way of trying to win her back?
With a wry smile, Yiyue looked out the window at the sky. This compensation wasn't enough. The original Yiyue was gone for good. If possible, let them live with their regret forever.
Life moved at its own pace, neither too fast nor too slow. One morning, as Yiyue stepped out of her house, she was taken aback to see a familiar figure crouched by her door. It was Luh Binn. How on earth did he find her?
What made Yiyue even more exasperated was Luh Binn's stubbornness. For reasons she couldn't fathom, he had decided to stay with her at the farm, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get him to leave.
As her life neared its end, Yiyue turned her head to look at Luh Binn, who was now as gray-haired as she was. She asked the question she had posed almost every day: "Why are you still here?"
Luh Binn, his head bowed, eyes moist with age, finally answered, "I'm waiting for you. Once you're gone, I'll leave too."
She had asked him this countless times, but only today did he give her an answer.
Waiting for her?
Yiyue suddenly didn't know how to respond. As she tried to speak again, her strength seemed to fade away. She gave him one last look before everything went dark.
Time seemed to stand still for a while. Then, suddenly, specks of starlight began to appear before her eyes, resembling a starry sky.
A green panel appeared in front of her.
