C6 THE PERUATION

"You were the weak one when we were in school, remember?" Mandolin Trump's voice took a disgusting high tone. "Remember how those sexy girls will walk past you on campus and you wouldn't even talk to any one of them—too shy then. You will never drink, smoke, or even have a date. I wondered how you won Prislla's heart if I hadn't known you. I will say you used some sort of charm." He laughed and also watched Eric Travis laugh and sipped out of his wine.

As soon as he dropped his glass cup, Mandolin Trump stared at him, eager to hear him say something.

"That is history now. Tell me why you called me about this pastor thing—Mandolin Trump."

Mandolin Trump smiled and poured some wine into his glass cup and then sat up on his seat. "Point of correction Eric, I am now pastor Mandolin Trump."

He watched Eric Travis nod and then looked away. He knew he must win Eric Travis over otherwise he will just watch him walk away as he did before when the whole idea came up.

Now it is time, time to lunch out for souls he knew he never had a passion for and that has never bothered him. He just wants to run the church as an entrepreneur and make money.

He wanted to sip out of his wine cup but changed his mind when he noticed Eric Travis was getting impatient. "Okay I will tell you but before I do please don't tell me you aren't seeing—that hummer Jeep parked outside is mine. Who would have thought I will own one? I have fleets of cars Eric Travis—just about two years in the ministry!" He pocked his head out and continued. "God is doing his work here in Bread of Life Bible Church and amazing signs and wonders bring people from all walks of live rushing in here."

Eric Travis listened for a while and then interrupted. "You mean your congregation number is twelve thousand two hundred and thirty-nine? That is an unbelievable achievement in two years. How did you do that, Mandolin Trump?"

"Pastor Mandolin Trump." He corrected Eric Travis quickly. "You ask too many questions, Eric. Remember everything works well to him that believes—so God did it. Come and join us. I have a council now that oversees the day-to-day running of the church—they are powerful men—"

"What do you mean powerful men?" Eric Travis now becoming uneasy and he never stepped his eyes down from Mandolin Trump's face.

"Don't let that bother you, Eric. You have to see the great things God is doing with me in his church—drink now. I will drive you home." Pastor Mandolin Trump gave him a thoughtful smile and then drank out of his wine glass.

Now looking more relaxed and with his right leg crossed over the other. He knew he has finally won Eric Travis over.

Pastor Mandolin Trump glanced through the calendar on the wall. It was the third week Pastor Eric Travis had started working with him. He had thought of opening another branch of the church but the idea had been a strong debate in the darkroom of the council.

As he sat up again, the bell on his table rang. He knew he was about to receive his first counselee of the day.

He watched the door open and a beautiful lady walked in and sat opposite him. "Good day Pastor." She began. "I—t—thought, no, I came to seek your counsel." She stammered.

She wasn't looking bad Pastor Mandolin Trump assessed. Her breasts stretched out her dress forward at her chest region. And now, his piercing eyes could catch a glimpse of her well-formed nipples.

He rubbed his hands across his face and said. "Go on, I am listening."

She adjusted her buttocks on her chair and started carefully. "I am still single and I need a husband. I have been praying in tears to have one but the four that came my way all wanted me in bed before—"

"You mean all of them wanted you in their bed—the same time or as they came?" Pastor Mandolin Trump asked with his hand drumming on the bible on his table.

"As they came, Pastor," she ventured with a faint smile playing around her red-painted lips that made her almost look like a whore.

Was it about her cosmetic, makeup, or wardrobe malfunction?

Pastor Mandolin Trump pondered, but his thoughts dropped when her tiny voice came again.

"I am kind of confused Pastor and what must I do?"

Pastor Mandolin stared at her and immediately he did, a voice spoke within him, "Tell her it is no sin sleeping around with men as a Christian provided her intention is for marriage."

Pastor Mandolin told her exactly what he heard within and suddenly she watched her react.

"But Pastor isn't that fornication—"

"Be quiet, you know nothing about the scripture the way you think. Now, tell me what is fornication? Didn't you say these men want to marry you but want to have you in bed first? You have no problem with that, do as I said and soon you'll have the perfect match for a husband."

"Okay Pastor." She stood up.

He watched her walk away quietly. As soon as the door closed behind her, the bell on his table rang again and another counselee walked straight inside his office.

He wasn't looking wealthy but he could at least afford a bottle of anointing oil. He stared at him as he sat.

"Pastor I have been sick for two years now and my illness seems to defile all medical prescriptions by several doctors—"

He stopped talking when he thought he heard Pastor Mandolin Trump ask a question and then continued. "My doctor seems to have no answer but I believe God can help me—"

"Have you been paying your tithe brother Phillip? I understand few of you are defiant and that attracts curses—"
