About three kilometers from the center of Kathmandu, there is a temple called Svayanblat, one of the oldest Buddhist shrines in Asia, built in the 5th century AD. Since the beginning of the construction, the mountain road in front of the gate had been trampled by Buddhist monks who came every year.
