C9 Panic and tranquillity

This time I slept more comfortably, because this time there was no cold feeling around me, only the warmth of the fire.

I looked at the burning fire, then around. He immediately understood that this was a cave. The sky should have already turned dark, because other than the flames, there was nothing bright inside the cave.

I yawned, rubbed my eyes, and reached for the chicken on the shelf.

"Stop, you dog of a child. You want to eat my things right after coming here? You're really impolite."

Startled by the sudden voice, I immediately retracted my hand and turned around like a thief. Only then did I realize that this cave was quite large, with two caves inside and outside. A large natural stone in the middle of the cave was burning this cave.

I walked towards the interior of the cave and circled around the big rock. Looking around, there really was a special cave within the cave.

On the left side of the mountain wall was a wooden bed, and next to the bed was a small stool. On top of the stool was a bulging bag of cloth, and on the right was a large pile of dried wood, a large water jar, and two wooden buckets.

In the center of the cave, there was a portrait in the middle. The person in the picture was seated cross-legged, holding a jade ruyi in his hands, with a snow-white beard and a lifelike face, he was looking straight ahead, brimming with vitality.

At that time, although I didn't know if this painting was that of Empyrean Ling-Bao, but when I saw him, I didn't know if it was due to my instincts, or if it was for some other reason, but I unconsciously took two steps back. My back leaned against that large rock, and a cold sensation seeped into my skin.

"Ten lifetimes of reincarnation, with the demonic nature still present. How could I dare to be impudent in front of an Empyrean!?"

Suddenly, these words came to my ears like rolling thunder. They rushed into my blank brain and continuously resounded in my head, pulling me back to my senses very quickly.

When I raised my head again to look at the portrait, there was no longer that indescribable feeling of unease. I looked at Old man Tao, who was still smoking on the fire.

This is the second time I have seen Old man Tao's martial arts, even though it was a simple and baffling sentence, but this also let me know, this Old man Tao is truly a capable expert.

Even though I was still young at the time, I still thought about all of this.

After coming back from my thoughts, I took a glance at the cave and felt that it was just like how I looked at it. There weren't many things, but it gave off a sense of order and order, totally out of place when compared to the sloppy Old man Tao in front of me.

Old man Tao who was smoking beside the bonfire seemed to have finished smoking. He placed the cigarette on his waist and looked at me. "What are you still watching for? Why aren't you bathing yet? Do you want to have a nightmare again?"

When I thought about the cold and slippery feeling, which was like several loaches jumping around in my body, my heart trembled. When I heard Old man Tao's call for me, I immediately ran over.

Old man Tao poured the pot of boiling water into the huge wooden bucket beside him. He touched it with his hand and said.

The barrel was almost as tall as I was, and as I stood on tiptoe on top of it, I could see dozens of different things floating on top of it. Red, yellow, white, green.

"Old man, these things are ?"

Before I could finish speaking, both of my legs left the ground and I suddenly flew into the air. Old man Tao grabbed my collar and quickly stripped me of my clothes.

"These are all good stuff, I spent my boss's time to get them, so it can be considered cheap for you, kid. If it wasn't because I was afraid that the water ghost would leave some side effects for you, I wouldn't have spent my time to get these, you know."

After Old man Tao threw me in, he added some water and walked out of the cave. But after walking two steps, he seemed to have thought of something and retreated back, leaning on the wooden barrel. His two eyes sneakily stared at me and asked, "What did you call me just now?"

I was soaking in the wooden barrel and felt quite comfortable so I didn't think much before saying, "Old man, what's up?"

"What's wrong? "Hmph."

Old man Tao sneered twice, squatted down, and after a few seconds, stood up again, still leaning on the barrel, and asked with a face full of evil smiles: "Call me one more time."

In the end, this old man actually extended his hand out and scolded, "You dog of a child, everyone in the world can ignore this daddy. But if you can't do it, then let's take a bath together."

After Old man Tao scolded me, there were two popping sounds, as if something was thrown into a bucket by him.

Since his movements were too fast, I didn't manage to see it clearly. After throwing it, he rolled his eyes and smacked his head. "Oh no."

He then quickly walked out of the cave.

My hands were still groping in the water, wanting to see what Old man Tao had just thrown in. After a few seconds of groping, I felt like I had grabbed onto a slippery thing, because that water ghost had given me a huge psychological shadow, causing me to feel terror the moment I touched something slippery. As a result, my legs immediately went limp and I fell into the bucket.

However, my curiosity was piqued once again. I also knew that Old man Tao wouldn't harm me, so I mustered my courage and grabbed the thing with trembling hands.

"Damn!"

I lost two souls and a half in fear and wanted to jump out of the bucket, but my legs had lost their strength. Slowly, my entire body went limp. Then, a warm and comfortable feeling spread throughout my body.

"Hmm, fortunately, the chicken hasn't been roasted."

Outside the cave, the Old man Tao's broken gong sounded again.

I spent my first night in the mountains in a state of shock and calm.

The thing that scared me was that the Old man Tao, that old urchin kid, had set a snake in the bucket I was bathing in, which made my whole body shiver when I thought about it. It was the night in the cave that I slept very peacefully, having bathed in that bucket of water, which made me feel extremely relaxed and comfortable, especially when I felt a few warm currents flowing through my veins. Furthermore, my entire body felt as if I had been reborn, as if I had been reborn.
