I sighed. 20 lashes is a piece of cake. I've had much worse than that. Well, considering my back had 20 open cuts across it and a dozen other whip marks, it wasn’t really a piece of cake. I was grateful actually that it was only 20. Any more lashes, and I would probably pass out.
